Will definately stay again!
After a horrible experience with the airlines & almost not making it at all, we arrived late morning and went straight to the hotel. Although early, our room was ready and we were able to check in, which was a huge relief. We walked everywhere the entire week of our stay & the location of the hotel was perfect! Not only are taxis expensive, but walking is a really great way to see the city. We loved that we could have the mini-fridge emptied so we could put our own things in there & highly recommend it. The bed was SO comfortable, which is a huge thing for me as I have really bad back problems. The shower was also really nice, which is rare for hotels. It was an overhead "rainfall" shower with great pressure... not the weak and wimpy showers Ive experienced way too often in my travels. The staff was so friendly & helpful - e-mailing back and forth with me prior to my arrival & the entire time we was there! Theres a laundromat one block away where we dropped our laundry in the morning & picked up in the afternoon - VERY convenient & pretty reasonable! Good to know for next time so we dont pack as much. The only thing I had a problem with was making local calls. Before making any call, I asked what the charge was & was told "$1.50 flat rate", but it wasnt the case and apparently calls to cell phones are more expensive, so upon checkout - when it was too late - I had calls ranging from $2.00 to nearly $20.00 on my bill. Aside from that, everything was great!

great location, friendly staff and a good room
We read a lot of complaints on the internet about the cleanliness of the hotel and about noise. Our room was clean and we heard no noise whatsoever (besides from the loud airconditioning). It is not a fancy hotel but a comfortable place to stay close to nice restaurants and very conveniently located to explore Sydney

Something different with style
I was really happy with my stay at Kirketon. Its got a unique style of its own, not your average hotel which was great. Tucked away in Darlinghurst, but still can walk anywhere really, oxford st nearby, i did walk into city once which was 15 mins, easy. No breakfast is available, this isnt the hotel for you if you want a lot of room service and food. For me was great, very comfortable room to sleep, and lots of eating out and sightseeing, so I only slept at the room. Perfect for me and anyone else who wants Darlinghurst. Price seemed ok as well.
