Tiny rooms, expensive but comfortable and in a great neighborhood
As advertised, the executive room with balcony was teeny-tiny. My large balcony looked right into a parking garage but this is the city after all. Theres no way a couple could have shared this room. The thermostat was behind the TV and was impossible to read much less set but once it was, everything was fine. Service was great in the hotel but not so much on the rooftop lounge where it was slow and chaotic. The prices were out of sight too (not in a good way.) Ive never paid so much to have shirts laundered, ever but apparently this is an expensive thing to have done in Singapore. The location cant be beat. Cheap delicious eats from across the street to a walk down Chinatowns food street. I was there for a week on business but I suspect the hotel to be very gay friendly as some of the staff were obviously gay as is the fabulous, theatrical decor of the place. With the Maxwell food court just across the street, I never did have a reason to eat at the hotel. I even found a cheapy coffee shop not far away on Monday when the food court was closed. And the best part of all, no busloads of tour groups to deal with as this is a boutique hotel.

Poor Windowless Small Rooms
The hotel is a boutique hotel and offers some nice facilities but although the rooms are well appointed they are small and many of them have no windows. The price paid for these rooms does not represent good value and because of this I would not recommend this to others. In such a competitive market and especially in Singapore there are many better options on offer. Also the service in the outdoor bar was poor. I had to chase up the staff to order a drink.
