Norman bates hotel
The hotel had no cold water conditions very poor checking in poor the worse hotel I bern to since travelling over 40 years however was told by night security hotel closing down its a shame as if money pushed in there good be up and running again Hotel needs urgent refurbishment I thought I was in a concentration camp or an open prison with manor man bates the guy whom checked us in

Very tired hotel on the point of closing. No catering available and no alternatives close by. Only positive is how quiet it was. Not recommended

This hotel has seen better days . Looks like it hasn’t had money spent on it for many years . Many rooms look like they’ve been abandoned. Outside is being used to dump equipment for road works eg signs cones

Clean and comfy bed, but dated hotel
The hotel is closing in september so its clear it needs some work. It was generally clean though and the bed comfy so for the money it was fine

Staff were very friendly & helpful. Although I would suggest they have more than 1 member of staff on at night time. Room, although outdated, was clean enough. Beds were uncomfortable and the noise of the doors opening/closing was a bit to much. But it’s a nice quirky little hidden gem.

Hotel in total need of a update Room drab. Bed mattress you could feel all the springs, completely uncomfortable. Would definitely not recommend

The receptionist was very helpful & friendly. The room smelt of moth balls, the water in the cold tap only dribbled out, the carpet was stained and the bed was hard,the whole hotel needs a refit.

Great Stay!
Quality of food was very good but only served Monday to Friday. Room was very comfortable with all good facilities. Great shower! Only issue was bathroom door did not close properly.

Rivenhall hotel
Hotel is in a good central location, reception staff very helpful and lovely. Bedding clean. Bathroom generally clean but lots of mould around taps, tiles and shower screen.

Hotel and outside area is in need of some updating/tidying. The lady on reception was very friendly but appeared to be doing everything including breakfast. Beds comfy, bathroom needs updating

A bit of a disappointment
Room was clean but looked tired and in need of some tlc. Towels were a bit grey and threadbare. The room blocks were again in need of tlc and didnt look very appealing. There was no restaurant available at the weekend which I found odd as they would have known quite a few people were staying there because a local festival was on. We had to ask for a second towel and were given teabags and coffee from reception but no milk so had to go back in the morning.

Graduation night
First time back after lockdown very impressed with the duty of care shown over all aspects. Having been closed for so long everything smelt fresh and clean. It was a shame the kitchen hadn't re-opened because we really missed the delicious breakfasts we had had in the past.

The mattresses needs changing flimsy and can feel the springs. The shower there is no pressure in the water, almost trickles

Excellent
Travelled from Wales with my family for a business trip. When we arrived and went to reception we were greeted the receptionist was very helpful. When we got in to our room we absolutely loved it, it was a surprise how big the room was. It was very clean and well maintained. Will definitely be staying there again!
