I had a single room with a private bathroom. The bathroom was across the hall so be aware if you are booking a single. It was really no problem though. The room was clean. I felt safe as a solo traveler.

The location of Hotel Al Piave is great. 8 minutes walk from the train station, 6 minutes from San Marco square. Located down a quiet street in the old part of town. The employees were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was large and high quality (including scrambled eggs and sausage). The hotel stored our suitcase after we checked out, allowing us to pick it up later when we left town.

The friendly staff was able to find us restaurants that satisfied our dietary requirements and help us with navigating the island. We would highly recommend staying at this hotel for an enjoyable experience.

We enjoyed our stay, especially that the room was broken into 2, allowing our children to have their own space. It was clean, easy to access and in the middle of the sites we wanted to see in Venice. Breakfast was good and staff were friendly and helpful.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Al Piave during my visit to Venice, and I must say it was an outstanding experience from start to finish. I am delighted to share my review, as this hotel exceeded my expectations in every aspect. First and foremost, the rooms at Hotel Al Piave were excellent. They were spacious, comfortable, and meticulously maintained. The beds were of exceptional quality, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a long day of exploring the beautiful city. The attention to detail in room cleanliness and decor was evident and greatly appreciated. The hotel's location was also a major highlight. Situated in a charming neighborhood, it was conveniently close to many popular attractions, allowing for easy exploration of Venice. Being able to stroll through the picturesque streets and discover the city's hidden gems added an extra touch of magic to my stay. One aspect that truly impressed me was the breakfast offered at Hotel Al Piave. The variety and quality of the food were remarkable. From freshly baked pastries to a selection of cheeses, fruits, and hot dishes, there was something to please every palate. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Hotel Al Piave to anyone visiting Venice

We really enjoyed our stay at Al Piave. The staff is very nice and helpful, the room was a good size, clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable. There was a kettle, a fridge and a safe in the room. The hotel is just a short walk from St Mark’s and several boat stops. There is no elevator, so you’ll carry your luggage (but it’s Venice, so get used to carrying your luggage!). There’s a shop with necessities right next door and lots of restaurants and souvenir shops everywhere. There’s even a laundromat a few doors down. Breakfast was okay - not the best of the places we stayed in Europe, but it was free.

Great stay in Venice
We loved our stay at Hotel al Piave! The staff was wonderful and we determined that the most delicious coffee we ever had was at the hotel breakfast (a big compliment considering we are in Italy!). The location was perfect. We had a New Years Eve dinner across the alley that was a charming family owned restaurant. The one thing I would recommend is a non-accessible room, but that was not a big problem.

A good find for a nice stay in Venice
We had a very nice stay at this hotel. The breakfast is sufficient and the waitress very friendly. The bed was comfortable, our room was quite small though. The shower is powerful and hot. We had good service when there was a problem with the safe. Remember that you have to pay cash for the tax at the end, nobody told us, so perhaps the only annoyance was the attitude of the lady when we didn’t have cash to pay it. The hotel is well located.

As I explained to you, the only reason whay maybe you did not know it, it was because you had checked in very late at night and our night guardian forgot to tell you that. I was just surprised that you did not know it, bacause all of us know that it is an important information to say at check in.But as we discussed, it was not your fault because you had not been informed.

Gem of a hotel smack bang in the centre of Venice.
Stayed Saturday 22nd September after coming off a 7 night cruise. Watched a YOUTUBE video showing exactly what vaporetto (water taxi) stop to get off at, S. zacharria, and the hotel was very easy to find, about a 10 minute walk over 2 bridges, in the other direction, the hotel was a five minute walk from Rialto bridge, but a bit windier and trickier to get to, we took a wrong turn and ended up where we started, doing a complete loop. The hotel was easy to find, and the owner who checked us in was extremely polite and friendly. We were in room 109, a room completely renovated, had beautiful furnishings, very comfortable bed, kettle with cups, and tea and sugar, no coffee, and when I went over to reception, I asked for some milk, and the owners son was very obliging. There was complimentary buffet breakfast which was plentiful and included hot scrambled eggs, sausages, toast, cereal, pastries, yoghurt, fruit, cold meats and ham, and the biggest surprise was small little freshly baked pizza dough with cheese, went down a treat, also juice, tea and coffee. The hotel is very central and we were very happy with the price paid, and we also had free WIFI. The area around the hotel was full of alleyways with shops, restaurants, ice cream parlours etc, so quaint and bustling with activity. Our room was lovely and quiet, had a very comfortable nights sleep, and a great stay overall, will definitely return for sure.

We had a great time the staff were friendly and helpfull, they assisted us with all our requests. We were upgraded to a larger room hitch was clean and comfy. Breakfast was good. Would recommend to family and friends. The hotel is a bit hard to find but I think getting lost in Venice is part of its charm.

Nice hotel with pleasant and courteous staff. About a ten minute walk from S. Marc Square. Rooms are standard size. Free breakfast was good with scrambled eggs, cooked meats, pastries, yogurt, fruit, cheese, deli meats, cereal, toast juices, coffee, tea. If you have heavy luggage, getting over the stair steps of the bridge on the way to and from the hotel will be a minor problem. If you are strong, go for it. If not, consider getting a porter.

Excellent, well-located small hotel
Stayed at the Hotel al Piave for 5 nights in May 2018. I found that it was well-located with only a few minutes walk to San Marco and vaporetto, or taxi pickup at Campo St. Formosa. The front desk was very accommodating and helpful on restaurants, tours, info etc. Everyone spoke good English. We found local restaurants and café/bars that were excellent. Our room was very comfortable and nicely updated. The room was cleaned beautifully: the whole place was spotless. Great bathroom/shower, safe, teapot, heated towel bar, excellent lighting (a makeup mirror!), mini bar, hair dryer, lots of outlets, and TV. Comfortable bed and excellent remote-controlled heating/AC unit. I have never heard an AC unit that was so quiet; really nice. Straightforward Italian hotel breakfast was included with bread, meat, fruit, juice, yogurt, cereal, pastry, scrambled eggs and coffee made to order. Nice dining area (lots of interesting art!) and service. Our room was amazingly quiet, especially considering there were apartments nearby too. Nice security with two locked doors in addition to our room door. But the area felt very comfortable anyway. There are helpful video directions to hotel from vaporetto. The stairway to our room lit up when you opened the lower door. When they did renovations that they had excellent attention to detail. Wifi was free, password protected and worked as needed. Overall it was an excellent value, convenient location and comfortable room. I would stay here again!

Loved Venice even though temperatures were below zero . Hotel really lovely, rooms clean well equipt and warm. Centrally located walking distance to major tourist attractions. Sevearl good restaraunts nearby - bit more pricey than I expected but of a good standard. Advise buy water taxi pass and a museum pass to save paying individually
