Great place
We stayed for a night on the way home from Germany. We knew not to judge the hotel from the outside. The reception, restaurant and bar area are really great and it was very child friendly. The room was quiet but artex over the walls and ceiling so it felt like we were sleeping in an iced cake! The lady in reception (Torchwood fan) was amazing. She spoke great English and really helped when I needed her to speak to the kitchen to see if they could do a basic off menu pasta meal for my daughter who has sensory issues. The pool was small and cold but it was 30 degrees at 5pm so very much enjoyed. Breakfast was included and great choice for all of us including soya milk.

Good overnight stopover

Excellent place for a break from a roadtrip
Very nice place to spend a night on a long road trip. Nice atmosphere and large and comfortable room (superior room). The breakfast was great and well worth the expense.

The hotel is very nice; just off the highway but you wouldn't know it. Clean, comfortable and perfect location for our trip.

No more Novotel
Helpful reception dealt with lack of light bulbs by changing our room. He told us he had given us an upgrade. Unfortunately the original room was much nicer. It was too late and we were too tired to move again. We didn't like the hotel menu and had to search the local area for somewhere to eat. it was difficult in a strange area in the dark. the hotel in on an industrial estate.

Well appointed hotel coping very well whilst some'work' being carried out in the foyer area. No lift available. Easy access from autoroute for a stop over.

Valenciennes France short stay
Very good stay, staff good and a good breakfast, all in all a good comfortable stay although some way from city for shops, but having own transport made this easy, but be warned parking in city can be difficult and expensive.

Good hotel for the areas we wanted to visit. The breakfast was extensive and a good quality. It was a basic hotel but had everything we needed. Not sure when the last time was the stairs had been hoovered leading from the reception area. I would stay there again.

Great location, needs improvement
We have stayed at this hotel a number of times due to its location, parking facilities and great staff. On this last occasion, breakfast was spoiled by the coffee machine that kept breaking down. Also the cooked breakfast items (sausages, bacon and scrambled eggs) ran out and weren't replaced promptly. In the bar, the pression beer had run out for the World Cup Final and the bottled beers were warm.

Well designed rooms and comfortable beds. Staff were helpful. We were visiting during an early May heatwave. In the room it states there is a cooling system but this was not particularly evident. The location was convenient.

Well situated for what I wanted to do.
Excellent restaurant. Good service and great food. Friendly staff. Rather isolated if you want to walk. It's off the highway and in an industrial environment. As I don't drive when it gets dark, I did not dare getting lost trying to get into Valencienne. It's closeness to the highway- which is not heard in the room- makes it convenient however to get to many of the sites around there that I wanted to see, including Waterloo in Belgium,

My only disappointment
When I arrived at the hotel, I was informed by the dest staff, that I do NOT get credit for my stay at Novotel, because I booked thru Orbitz and not dirctly with them. Are they implying that Orbitz doesn't pay them for the room...I'm sure they do! I wouldn't have even known that there was a Novotel outside this small town, if I didn't check with Orbitz!

good for a one-night-stop driving back to the UK
our stay was good, the hotel is comfortable and child-friendly. We asked to have breakfast in the room upon our departure but sadly it arrived very late. the rooms are comfortable and the on-site restaurant is good. the area around the hotel is like a ghost town, there were no shops open even on a saturday late afternoon, not even the big carrefour. That was a real inconvenience.

A very professional hotel, convenient for needs !
Needed a family friendly stopover near Valenciennes. Hotel was very convenient and easily reached from motorway and local roads alike. Nearby airport and main road was not intrusive, food and staff were excellent, waitress was pleasant and advised excellent wine to go with dinner, chef came out to check food was enjoyed. Great service. Breakfast buffet good, checkout efficient. Parking good, suitable for high vehicles (camper van). Would definitely stay again, thank you !

Really Nice breakfast . Breakfast Staff very attentive . It was a sunny morning and they have a small swimming pool , lovely surrounding garden Safe parking , gated car park . I can recommend , if I remember this hotel and is available I will defo stay again

Great for business - inconvenient for sites/shops
Comfortable spacious clean modern rooms. Excellent breakfast & dinner, beautiful patio around pool so you can have your meals inside or out! Perfect hotel for business travel/meetings! Unfortunately, we were there for holiday. Luckily, we had a car so getting to sites etc was not a problem, especially with the use of our GPS. Only caveat is that hotel looks old & tired from the outside. Don't judge a book by its cover, it's a gem inside!

Good hotel for overnight stops
Stayed at this hotel on the way to Italy and on the return. It was perfect for overnight stops to break up a journey, Food both evening meal and breakfast was a good standard and reasonable value. The local city center is really good for shopping and has bars and cafes etc. Pool area really good and clean and in general its what you would expect from NOVOTEL

The staff were great and helpfull. However, the discription said the rooms had air condition ut this was not the case. the rooms had some air ventalation system that did not function properly and with tempreture at 32 degrees in the day and mid twenties at night it was very uncomfortable especially if you had a 4 years old and a 2 months old with you. the hotel is around 10 minutes away from the nearest town so car is a must.

Overnight Stop at Novotel Valenciennes Aérodrome.
We booked the Novotel Valenciennes Aérodrome as a stop off point following a trip to Disneyland Paris and prior to our return via Dunkerque. In total we had 5 rooms booked, catering for 4 families and 1 couple. Each room was clean and comfortable and the location was just to the side of the motorway so easy to find - yet it was also surprisingly very quiet. I would definitely recommend this hotel for an overnight stay, the staff were helpful and the menu options in the restaurant we not over priced. Overall.. very comfortable beds, clean rooms, good service, ideal location to break up the long drive and good value for money.
