Nice hotel, unhelpful staff.
Very clean and comfortable hotel with great breakfast. But strange that the hotel would run out of coffee for the rooms for 2 of the days I was there. Not just a random Miss but also the same for colleagues at the hotel. Front desk nor the bar they sent us to could help us get coffee. At checkout the staff just laughed and said sorry.

This property did not honor my service dog and was very disrespectful and lacked any kind of sympathy all they cared about was getting their fee for the night. The property itself is across the street from construction, very noise and starts very early in the morning. The cleaning staff took it upon themselves to open the window and let the construction dust into the room.

Very bad hotel with extras charge late check out with out warning us very bad check out it’s just few minutes make my day very bad I don’t like steals this way with customers I would like two thanks the man in checked in front desk.

Very nice hotel, clean, with parking and amenities. Well-located, right next to the train that climbs to the top of the mountain. Good options for breakfast, the only complaint is you have to reserve your time slot for breakfast, otherwise, they don't give you a table unless is outside. Staff, some are nice but others are very rude like an old lady at the front desk who complains to every guest checking in on the hotel with an Expedia reservation. She asked why we book through Expedia instead of booking directly to the hotel. They ask you to pay the full amount on the moment you check in. If you need any kind of accommodation they just said that they can't do anything since you book with Expedia. If it hadn't been for Expedia we wouldn't have stayed at that hotel. If it bothers them so much, don't use it to advertise.

Great stay
We booked Novotel Lugano Paradiso for a family stay. We were not sure it was the right fit for us because it's more of a business and not a family hotel, but it exceeded our expectations. The hotel is sparkling clean, which made us feel at ease with the COVID-19 situation. There's extra care in providing hand sanitizer in the common areas. The pool was nice and only a limited number of people could go in at a time. The breakfast buffet was well managed and the staff took extra care of the guests to ensure enough distance between people. All staff wore a mask at all times. We recommend this hotel, for family or business trips.

My 2 kids and I were going to SwissMiniatur park in Melide and this was the perfect accommodation. It was within walking distance to the train station and Local Bus No 2 is a few steps from the hotel. We were delighted to see that the funicular to Monte San Salvatore is a few meters away, and the stop for the city tour is just outside the hotel. The hotel also gave a free pass for local transportation and a pass that gives discounts to museums and other modes of transportation for the region. We felt safe and comfortable. We will certainly book here again if we come back.

Enjoyed it. Policy saying that kids are up to 15-years old and younger is not constructive. Not like I can rent a room for a 16-year-old. Policy needs to change.

What i liked 1- Clean and modern facility 2- Renovated building and rooms What i didn't like 1- Charging 20euro/day for car park. (This is nor fair already charging 250-300 euro per night no need to charge 20 for park. I didn’t mind to pay 300 euro night but 20 euro for car park bothered me 2- Breakfast was not reach. Also even though it says till 11 if you go 10:30 no bread left then you will not get more bread 3- you can not get glass of water from checkin after you checked in, you will be reminded that that lemon water from picnic bucket is only checking customers 4- Also no candy for your 3 year old from Lobby only for priority checkin customers I don’t understand who comes with these rules. You say you are not customer you are our guest but you say no to 3 year old kid who just wanted to have a small candy from the jar.

We stayed at Novotel hotel in July 2019. We had a great experience! They offer great amenities such as free local transportation, scooters to help with touring the area (which you must place a 150 franc deposit down) and much more. The only bad thing was we were under the impression we were going to get free breakfast as our booking had told us but they only offer free breakfast on weekends (Saturday-Sunday). Overall, clean and great room!

So it’s a Novotel! And it’s not cheap!! We booked 3 rooms in April and got there just after check in time! How ever it took us 1 hours to check in and the reception staff seemed so agitated for God knows what! The guy at the reception looked at us as if we were from another world! I can’t say racist as he was the same with another lady who checked in with us. But I wouldn’t book this hotel again! The rooms were average Novotel standard! The only good thing was the breakfast staff and the hote is not even in Lugano central it’s in Lugano paradiso!

You know what you are getting - standard Novotel property. Everything clean and in good condition; no complaints. The hotel is well-situated for central Paradiso - short walk to the lake and the funicular. I recommend a trip up the funicular to the top of the mountain for great views. A small tip - go to the church at the top and at the back is a flight of stairs that takes you right up to the top of the building.
