Self check-in Machine
Great hotel. It's important to know that they use self check-in machines, and your reservation belongs to Expedia rather that Hotels.com. We forgot about this and had some trouble checking-in. Glad that there was a friendly staff came out to help.

not the best for it's price
the door to the shower of my room was broken, so water was escaping into the toilet area, the room was musky and very humid/moist. There was mold in the shower area, and around the tub. Room was dirty from previous stay. There's no one really in the front desk.. maybe at 3:00AM/4:00AM.

Terrible experience in this hotel.
Kiosk Self Check in - Terrible service Hotel staff was not there when arrived in the hotel and Kiosk also did not work with my confirmation number. Talked to the phone on the Kiosk. He was in Taichung. still could not solve the problem. about 30-40 minutes later, a lady(hotel staff) showed up and paid by credit card manually. She never say "Sorry". To check-in, it took about 40 minutes. WOW Sounds like a lie? Please check their CCTV. I was desperately shouting / yelling for "HELP" but nobody showed up. Please do not try this hotel. NEVER.

Do not judged a book by its cover.
Name, photos and internal pictures of this hotel was miisleading. Only one key per room which was very inconvenience for the 3 of us. Room 806 was less than 22sqm. We pre-paid for 35sqm as stated in your Hotels.com site. Breakfast was too simple and just a few spread. Mainly vegetables. Breakfast from 7am to 9am was too short and wrong timing. Key need to be kept at the reception when we go out. We were shocked upon return in the night that the room was not cleaned up. No house keeping, no tidying of beds and no clean towels. Nothing was done. When the supervisor arrived half an hour later and the reason was that the housekeepers had missed or overlook our room. We settled for some clean towels and let them emptied the dustbins as it was already 11.30pm in the night. A day before checking out, we asked the reception for advised on how to get to the airport. Answer was to take a cab arranged by them. Price quoted was very high. We eventually booked a cab by ourselves with a 40% lower in price. The only positive consolation for this hotel was the checking out. Just gave them the key and it was done in 5 seconds.

Don’t let them fool you with picture
Don’t let those pictures fool you!! The hotel looks nothing like the pictures, there is a very strong humidity smell that reminds you of wet clothes left for days!!

I won’t recommend this hotel
My experience at this hotel was terrible. First they gave us a room with mold in the bathroom but after complaining to the front desk they were able to give us another room. The new room was hot and we couldn’t change the temperature. It seemed as the thermostat was broken.

The property was old, the carpet was not cleaned, the washing basin in the room was not cleaned thoroughly each day. The entrance light in the room was not fixed throughout my stay. The cups which were dirty were left unattended and had to be washed by me everyday.

Booked for 7 nights, on the first day there was a ball of fluff dirt on the floor and only 1 bath towel was provided for 2 guests- had to request for a second towel. Even though there was daily housekeeping, some of the towels provided were torn. This could’ve been improved. The hotel includes a gym facility however when I tried to use the treadmill, it wasn’t working. The gym area is very old and equipment looks like it hasn’t been used for a long time. Otherwise happy that there was daily housekeeping (water and towels replaced), hotel is situated in a relatively central location. Hotel amenities do not include conditioner.

Seriously, do not even bother. Did not even fit a 3-star hotel rating. The only saving grace of this hotel was the location (3 minute-walk to Zhongshan Junior High School) and Kevin - the front desk employee who happens to be the only one who wears a uniform. Kevin was helpful and friendly. The other front desk staff did not bother about the guests especially the lady. Even the cleaning ladies are friendlier than them. Breakfast was terrible - spoilt toasters, unappealing and distatsteful dishes. Walls were thin and people staying in the room above us kept dragging stuff around in the night and wee hours which affected our sleep. The bathroom has a screen which does not fully block the glass door - so there is a gap where you can actually see through the bathroom. Will never return to Regal.

Worn out Hotel, but good location
I spend 4 nights at this hotel. For different reasons I stayed in 3 different rooms. The beds are not particularly comfortable and the bathroom wasn't very clean, one of them hadn't been actually cleaned before I checked in. The gym is very worn out and half of the machines don't work. The breakfast is freshly cook and every day is different The staff is very friendly, and the location is very convenient, 2 minutes walk away from an MRT station

Budget and location friendly. Nothing special
The location is near MRT. The rate is not pricey. The breakfast is a bit bland though we expected it to be and variation is acceptable.. We just dont like that they do not replenish everything automatically despite the 3-night stay, from bath towel to coffee, tea etc. All receptionists are not so accomodating, they speak and understand very little english so its really hard to communicate especially if we have inquiries and requests..

Besides the room was a bit dark and facing the backside of another building. A smell in the corridor. It's more like a motel style rather than a hotel. Not sure how they put a name on hotel without much standard. It's not close to MRT station but it's easy to get taxi outside. The room is clean and enough space for 3, we booked a triple room. Overall, it's value for the price. I guess.

Very happy stay - will be back!
Have stayed here before and will stay again. Has everything needed for a good stay. Friendly staff (both the font-desk staff and the cleaners), great room + shower + beds, nice breakfast. Even has a small gym and on-site washing/drying facilities. Very happy.

Great value, excellent staff
Great value for an economy hotel. Staff offered to lend an umbrella on a rainy night. I called after checkout because I left a necklace. Front desk held back the cleaning staff until I came back to retrieve it, because they were concerned that it was valuable. Also, I liked the variety in the breakfast spread.

Breakfast staff is well above 5 starts service. Rooms are clean, quiet and provide all toiletry essentials. Small front desk/reception entrance and staff is very helpfull too. Only 1 elevator for 8 floors.

Stayed for 3 nights on business. Hotel not kept up to Regal standards, and surfaces are not kept clean. Wifi has no signal in rooms. Full of tour groups from Mainland China that shout in rooms and play TV at full volume. Front desk speak very limited English. No attempt to put things right. No receipt given for stay.

This hotel is close to the metro station, and that’s as good as it gets. The free breakfast buffet really lacks variety and food was just edible. The rooms are quite small but okay if you only need a bed to crash at night. What bothered us the most was its unhelpful staff: 1. The phone didn't work in our first room. The staff told us the computer configuration for our phone was problematic. They never got it to work, so I asked the front desk whether I could use their phone to make a quick call to my parents who live close by. They refused and asked me to go find a public phone to make the call. A call within the neighborhood in Taipei only costs a few cents! I would have gladly paid for it. 2. Our second room had NO WiFi signal. I was told that the hotel was fully booked, and no room change was possible until the following day. The staff requested me to move out of room by 8am next day if I want a room change. Seriously? Upon protest, the front desk staff finally agreed to adhere to the checkout time. 3. Our third room faces the metro, so we got a lot of noise from the busy traffic. What shocked us was that the shower door was a few inches short in width, so we couldn’t completely close the shower enclosure. How was this poor construction acceptable? Over all, our whole stay was unpleasant and disappointing. The front desk staff rarely greeted us or even lifted their eyes whenever we entered or left the hotel. We will NEVER book this hotel again.

I've booked for 2 single beds room x2, but finally they arranged me 1 queen bed room x2, the front desk stated was hotel.com fault, refused to exchange another rooms for me, then my crew(4 male) need sleep together on same bed!!!!! bad happened!!! again, I'm now total disappointment about booking a room at hotel.com

It was my 2nd time to visit this hotel. Last time I stayed in Room715 but this time I stayed in Room 808, it is a big room with two toilets for 4 people but it was really stuffy. There is sth wrong the ventilation system. Since it is just under the restaurant , it was very noisy during breakfast time. Breakfast was horrible too.

First day checked in found hairs, and food debris on the floor, asked for re-clean, a lady came in with broom to sweep a small area and left, not even mopping/ vacuuming the floor. At night, air conditioning was set at 20 degree Celsius but was maintained at 23-24 degree Celsius through out the night, woke up 3am, went to the front desk to ask for help, was told by front desk in winter they do not allow air conditioning to turn on, suggested me to open window instead. Room was too stuffy due to the AC not working, I had to open the window, besides the noise from the street, mosquitos came into the room, and was bitten by mosquitos all night. The next day morning at 10am, went complaint to the front desk again, was promised by them that they will turn on the AC tonight. Surely, it didn't happen, I had to call Hotels.com customer service to cancel the rest of my booking with this hotel. I did a collect call from the room, but i was charged 350 TWD when i checked out due to using their phone making collect call. Well, I had nothing good to say about this hotel.
