Place is unique and beautiful. Staff is the most attentive and helpful. It gets a tiny bit noisy at night. Highly recommended.

Very stylish hotel but some details are tired
Some things could use an update or a refresh - the outdoor area - exposed wires or cords, etc. a few lights out in our room and outlets that didn't work. All fixable things ! Really great butler experience too.

Fantastic Hotel in Colombo
We were pleasently surprised with our funky functional quirky yet very comfotable room. Had the best beds! The ambience of the old renovated building was delightful. Our Domo Kumara was very friendly, professional and helpful. Nothing was too difficult for him. Thank you! Yes, definately recommend this hotel!

Hotel is not in very good condition. Towels are grey. Room service is not very good for laundry. Staff is excellent. Unfortunately the hotel was supposed to be five star but per European standards it's not More than 3 and a half stars

This 'boutique' hotel does not live up to expectations. It seems to have been upgraded but whoever did it did a rather poor job overall. Renovations were done on the cheap and the quality of the fittings leave a lot to be desired. The swimming pool area is not clean and the attendance is poor. Staff is friendly enough but untrained. The food is below par and the hotel does not deserve a 5 Star rating. We we would give it 3 1/2 stars at most. At the price you can stay at a number of 5 Star places in better locations. This hotel would be better suited for backpackers.

One of Sri Lanka's gems
Memorable hotel stay and was the perfect way to end our visit to sri lanka. We wished we would have stayed here upon our arrival. Our suite was beautiful and spacious, breakfast and dinner at the restaurant was delicious and the spa was perfectly relaxing (the spa stayed open late for me to have a treatment as we had arrived late in the evening). Only negative is the hotel location has nothing nearby to which to walk, everything was a taxi ride or tuktuk. Otherwise one of our most favorite hotels

Funky Oasis of Calm
My partner and I spent 3 days in Casa Colombo. The service was outstanding. All the staff members were friendly and went out of there way to ensure we were well taken care of. We arrived at 3:00 am and our personal butler was there to greet us. Colombo isn't known as an amazing tourist destination, but I would consider another trip there just to stay at Casa Colombo.

It's got so much character!
Don't stay at a giant multiplex, stay here at an ancient mansion! The Domos were very nice. The food at the hotel sucks to be honest, so just don't eat here! I wish they would simplify and do some boiled eggs etc, but the food is super oily and honestly not Sri Lankan enough. Eat elsewhere, but come and stay here :)

Stylish boutique hotel
Love love love Casa Colombo. Fabulous old colonial building set back from the main Galle Road. Do not be put off by the unprepossessing arrival (the house is invisible from the road), once you turn a corner into the driveway, it's another world. We arrived at 2am and our personal butler, Arrun, was still there to meet us. The staff were all excellent, super friendly and fun - everyone helped us learn more Sinhala. The twelve rooms, each one different, were exquisite and stylish. We stayed in the Tickell road suite, which had one of the comfiest beds I've ever slept in and THE most comfortable pillow ever. We loved the in room iPad with the great Casa Colombo playlists (we had Casa Chill on constantly). Anything we needed help with Arrun sorted out for us - dinner reservations, cars. The food at the restaurant was superb, the courtyard and bar a great place to relax in the evening. It was tough leaving the hotel to go elsewhere as everything we wanted was right there. Small spa was a lovely addition (we had the massage, scrub and wrap plus the head and foot massage, both great). I would go back to Casa Colombo in a heartbeat. It could not have been any better.

Beautiful hotel in Colombo
We were looking for a place that wasn't a typical chain hotel or hostel but had a bit of character to it. Casa Colombo fit the bill. Whilst it is a couple of km from the fort it is easily located on Galle road with great food and shops around. The room was spacious and super comfortable, with the homemade toiletries adding a personal touch. The copper bath tub was also amazing. I would probably advise against eating there, there are great local places just around the corner for a tenth of the price. The pool area was cool and the staff friendly

AMAZING HOTEL!! INCREDIBLE STAFF!!
Ever have the luck to stumble upon the most incredible hotel! Well it happened for my wife and I as we traveled for our anniversary this summer when we arrived at Casa Colombo and were greeted by our personal concierge and shown the most amazing rooms in a renovated colonial mansion!! All the architectural grandeur saved, preserved and restored while updating with incredible lighting, bathrooms and media in the rooms. The grounds with pool, bar, patio and fish pond were stunning and even more so at night with lighting and music. Not only did we love returning for one more night at the end of our trip but WILL stay here again when we return to Sri Lanka!!!

cool boutique hotel with great service and spa. cool ambience, rooms, decor and toiletries. decent wifi strength. not in walking distance to much but a short tuk tuk ride to major sites. when asking for restaurant advice though they neglected to mention that it was the moon festival and most places would be closed so we missed out on going to some places and had to eat at the hotel. would def recomment staying here when in colombo for a unique experience. it's in an old house but you feel the privacy of being in a big hotel.

It's a nice hotel on a tiny piece of land crowded by other buildings. The staff is great, and the personal service is very good. Enjoy the breakfast pastries. Other than breakfast, eat elsewhere.

A real hidden gem!
The whole experience was wonderful. stayed in the most amazing room, ask for the suite by the pool. The staff were really friendly and helpful and arranged a great driver to take us to our next resort. Had dinner in the restuarant which was v good and breakfast was also great. A perfect start to our holiday. Just check your taxi driver knows where it is before you leave the airport.

Nice hotel but lacked 5 star quality price tag. Security of personal details not good with the desk reception often unmanned. I had to tidy away my full payment and passport details. Not really that much to do in Colombo so staying in a better hotel like mount Lavinia is wise.

Great Place!
Stayed at Casa Colombo for our last night after 10 days in Sri Lanka & very glad we did. If you like "boutique-chic" you won't be disappointed. The hotel and rooms are a fascinating mix of "contemporary meets colonial", great comfort & style plus a little extra "wow" factor! But aside from the amazing building and easy location - it is the staff that make Casa special with personal attention from your de-facto "butler" (in our case the truly excellent Kumara - thank you for all your help!) .... A great place!

Quirky boutique hotel
We stayed at Casa Colombo for 3 nights and really enjoyed the setting of being in an old mansion with creatively done interiors. The suites are all quite large, but the design tended to be more artistic than practical, so there were lots of sharp edges everywhere and not much space to unpack. Otherwise, the interiors were great, and the pink pool under a mango tree was absolutely lovely. The included breakfast was huge and the cinnamon ice tea was delicious and we had one every day. The staff wasn't always organized, but they were very accommodating and friendly.

Great experience of art and design...
This was a truly amazing artistic experience and it is worth the price! We enjoyed every detail of it and the prices of the bar and cafe are also extremely surprisingly reasonable! I must say, with such quality design, it is a bargain when you go there in the low season. I have been to many pricy hotel, but it is hard to find a nearly comparable one with such taste and creativity! Try it out if you are into art and design...

3 star hotel with rooms in love hotel setup.
Chose the stay in Colombo based on super high rating on review sites but big mistake. Prepaid for two nights. After the 1st night, I simply forfeited the 2nd and chose to stay in another international hotel chain hotel in downtown Colombo. The room looks nice, but the smell doesn't. Room decoration looks more like high-end love hotel room in Korea or Japan than boutique hotel. Quality of materials used is sub-par below 5 star hotel. Bath tub in the room was not functional well during my stay. Room is not quiet with machine running sounds throughout the night. Annoying for anyone who needs a good sleep. Often you can't find a butler or service staff in the lobby. Location is bad. Very far away from downtown and not feel safe to walk around at night. For 50%-60% of its room rate, there are plenty of choices of 5 star hotels in Downtown Colombo which can offer quieter stay, ocean view, and friendly neighborhood for shopping with a higher service standard with better gym, pool and choices of restaurant. Transportation charge at Casa Colombo is also steep. They charge more to/from Airport in a smaller car than what Hilton Colombo charges. The tuk-tuk arranged by the butler is also charging more. Restaurant at Casa Colombo is good, but still can't compete with those super nice restaurants at Dutch Hospital in Downtown Colombo in variety and deliciousness for the same price.

An oasis in the city of chaos!
We had amazing start to our Sri Lankan adventure at Casa Colombo. The hospitality was world class, and our personal DOMO Guyen, was incredible...nothing was ever too much hassle & he always went above & beyond the call of duty...flowers on the bed & candlelit rooms were a nightly occurrence. The individual suites were amazing, and each had their own identity & design intention. Don't go to CC expecting bog-standard, repetitive hotel design in 50 shades of vanilla...you simply won't find it. We enjoyed it so much we returned a further two times during our Sri-Lankan trip.

We only stayed for 1 night but it was a great time! Wonderful place and excellent service. The location was a bit difficult to find and really the nicest neighborhood but shopping was close by. Can definitely recommend this hotel and would stay there any time again!

Decided to try and find some genuine luxury for the final night of our two week stay in Sri Lanka, and I couldn't have chosen better. I wish we'd had more time there. Far above the 5 star standard of the resort hotels like the Cinnamon equivalents elsewhere in the city, and a much more personal service. Hidden away in a shopping district of central Colombo, and down a rather inauspicious alley, the hotel itself is a striking and lovingly restored colonial mansion (The neighbourhood is not attractive, but then central Colombo is very much the same all around). The decor of the hotel is wonderful, especially in each of the unique suites - there are only 12, and even the smallest feels palatial compared to other hotels. The rooms are also very well equipped, with wifi, stereo, satellite flat-screen TV, lounge area, desk area, enormous comfortable beds, and excellent bathroom areas. The service is excellent, with each guest receiving the benefit of a personal Casa Domo (concierge), and the food both in the restaurant (take your pick where you would like to eat, we ate in the beautiful garden area alongside the pond and wine bar) and at breakfast is delicious and represents incredible value - they could easily charge the same as the restaurants at the Cinnamon hotels, or more. If ever I return to Sri Lanka I will without doubt be staying at the Casa Colombo.

Coolest boutique hotel in Colombo
Stayed there for 2 nights. Enjoyed it very much! From the hotel lobby to the swimming pool and to your room, it's a memorable journey with cool interior design and furniture. Love the happy hour, great choice of cocktails! A personal butler was assigned and made sure that I felt at Casa Colombo.

Beautiful hotel, and marvellous service by our very own Domo, Arun. On our last night, he place candles and flower petals all around the room - very romantic! Only spoiled by a misfortune on the day of our leaving - the bellboy left my briefcase and my canvas suitcase out in the rain whilst awaiting our transport - when we got to our next destination, 5 hours later, I found the contents of my suitcase sodden, with all the colours run into one another - very distressing! But then again, probably my fault for having a canvas bag in monsoon season. Would definitely recommend this hotel - just make sure that you take a solid suitcase!

Best Designer Boutique Hotel in the World...
Your rating system does not go high enough for this hotel. What a treasured jewel in the bustling city of Colombo, and one that would be a gorgeous find in any city in the world. The staff at the hotel are superb, the rooms are quirky, fabulous, one-of-a-kind, luxurious in a unique kind of way. Cuisine was good, although we were slightly disappointed with our meal at HVN - the atmosphere, however, totally made up for it. This hotel should be on the bucket list of any discerning traveller who appreciates attention to detail, architecture, style, service and heritage. Casa Colombo is beautiful!

Amazing hotel with AWESOME hospitality
Just got back from a 4N/5D stay at Casa Colombo. They have a great property - though not very big, but very well done. The assign personal butlers to all their guests and that is an amazing concept. Our butler Gayan was always available (we wondered when he slept), and was more than helpful. He made great recommendation and ensured we enjoyed our stay even when we were out of the hotel. Great food too at the hotel. Very warm people and amazing staff.
