We stayed at the Scotsman Pack for just one night. Room was lovely .. very clean and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Very cosy pub with excellent walking close by. Noisy in bedroom until music in pub stopped at 11:30pm but lovely place to stop. Staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good too.

Good place to stay.
Good value for money. Comfortable and welcoming older pub. Bedroom quiet, warm, cosy. Staff friendly. Pub was very crowded, nice atmosphere. Short walk from village centre. We'd go back.

Gem of a place in the Peak District
This is a gem of a place, nestled in the Hope Valley. Picture perfect surroundings, excellent food, lovely comfy rooms and friendly staff to boot! And it snowed, making it Christmassy! We will definitely return.

Don’t stay in room 4
First off, the pub is lovely, the food is great and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Our ‘room’ was number 4. It used to be a fire exit before it was converted. There is a lit fire exit sign in the room which is always on. This disturbed my sleep a lot. It’s like a green night light. They turned it off on the 2nd night. There is a fire exit sign because there is a fire exit to the outside in the room, with a curtain across it. This makes the room cold despite the heating being on constantly. I was also woken by the plumbing on both nights, which was loud enough to record on my phone. The towel rail in the bathroom has the temperature of several suns and conveniently located at the same height as the light pull, so you can burn your hand on it when turning the light on. We ended up wrapping it in towels. The shower is unusable as it is scalding hot and very poor flow. It apparently has 2 settings - off and scalding. No adjustments make any difference. Our friends also stayed in the hotel and the other rooms don’t have the same issues, although they did hear the plumbing.

I stayed in the single room, which was perfect for me. I went to bed early and slept right through. There was a good choice for breakfast with generous portions. The staff were lovely. I will definitely stay there again on my own and will also take my friend and stay in the twin room. Recommend.

Excellent value, outstanding breakfast
Lovely pub with easy access to the village. Very good value for money. In line with expectations for rooms in a pub (there was some noise in the morning as they set up). The breakfast was excellent. Comfortable bed. Shower wasn't the best but ok. Staff were lovely and helpful.

The food and friendliness of the Scotsmans Pack Hotel was excellent. Our room (4) however was very small, shower had little power and a bedside table each side would have been useful. However, we had a very enjoyable stay and would return but not in Room 4!

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, Lovely location, really friendly and helpful staff and food was delicious, room was clean and comfortable but couldn't get normal channels on the tv (but that might be just me not being able to work it properly) a little bit noisy but it is a pub and didnt bother me.

A lovely pub in a good location for walking and good to have the train station in the village. The room was spacious and well appointed. Staff were very friendly. It was a nice surprise to receive a complimentary Bakewell pudding. There is some noise from the pub below, however it didn't go on too late.

Excellent Stay
Excellent 2 night stay with everything required for a comfortable stay. Room was well equipped with plenty of towels, tea, coffee, biscuits etc. The water and bakewell tart was a lovely touch. We had breakfast included which was delicious both mornings with exceptional service from the server. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the room had a fan so perfect Great location for walking in the peaks and plenty of food options within 5minute walk

Hotel looked smart and inviting from the outside. We were given a four poster in a large room which was great because we were on a walking holiday and needed space for all our stuff. The Steak & Ale Pie and Ham Hock were very tasty. Breakfast was provided by a very efficient and enthusiastic staff member. He even made time to pop outside to take a photo before we started the next section of our walk. We can definitely recommend the hotel.

Weekend stay
Nice location, the room offered plenty of room, good value for money. Food very good particularly the breakfast which was included with room price. All the staff appeared to be well trained and very friendly.

Great 2nd Visit
Great mid-week stay once again. Ideal spot for surrounding country walks. Host Robert very friendly & gave good advice. Meals both good enough for both our nights stays either Breakfast or Evening. Comfortable & Quiet. Very hot radiator in bathroom. Would definitely stay here again for our 3rd trip.

An ideal stop off between meetings in and around Sheffield. Great service, friendly staff and very good food. Only criticism is the electric shower was not very good.

We loved it so much we stayed another night. Just couldn't bare to leave. Amazing value for money. Ate all our meals there, the food and ambience was so good. Excellent hospitality from all staff, but especially, the very lively Robert, will definitely return soon.

Doesnt look to be many parking spaces so if you arrive when the pub is busy you may struggle to get a space. We arrived at 2pm so no problems. We had room 4 which was small but big enough for the 2 of us . My only gripe with our room is that the main fire escape is behind a curtain at the side of the bed so you can hear any traffic noise as it passes if your a light sleeper like me so didnt get a very good nights sleep. Room had loads of tea coffee and biscuits plus a free bakewell tart which was excellent. Dont eat too much the night before as breakfast was probably the best ive had at b & b. You get choice of starter and then choice of main . Full english was excellent. Overall it was very good value for money just the stay was tainted by not getting a good nights sleep but i guess the other rooms wont have the fire escape next to the road.
