I stayed on the 30th floor with a fairly good view of the city, keeping in mind you're not right next to the water. This hotel is a fair walk from the ferry building and very close to Union square, but it's a pleasant area and there is plenty of stuff to do especially if you're in the mood for shopping. It's very close to the Moscone center so it suits different types of travelers well. The staff gave me a choice of rooms and I appreciated that flexibility.
The rooms are very comfortable and clean, and I very much appreciated the complimentary water bottles. I really could not find any major faults with this property; they're doing things right. Of course, as is typical for an upscale property, amenities such as wireless Internet access are not free. When it came to what's important, it's great -- I slept very well.
Also of note: the bar and restaurant seem to be pretty popular.

A little bit of a wait checking in. Room was small with queen size bed but we got to upgrade to larger room with king bed and a very quiet, clean room. Staff was accommodating and friendly. We would recommend this hotel to friends going to SF Ballet like we did and it is only a 10 minute walk to Opera House and Symphony and Asia Art Museum. Great place to stay for cultural events around Civic Center. Lot of homeless people outside but, this is the Tenderloin district and we didn't feel too uncomfortable.

Stayed here from April 10th thru April 14th & honestly couldn't fault this hotel. It is spotlessly clean, delicious breakfast, free fast wifi, safes at reception, perfect location & the best staff. Nothing was a problem for them & they went out of their way to be helpful & friendly without being in your face. The evening food was very good & good value. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough we had a briiiant stay.

The Pickwick is located in a great location near all of the museums in SoMa and shopping in Union Square. There is also very good nightlife around the area and easy access to BART and other transportation. The hotel was clean and service was quick & easy.

Very comfortable hotel with a superb location. Close to all public transport, restaurants, shopping and attractions. You can walk or take public transport everywhere. Target store behind the hotel comes in handy as well. Hotel prices are high on some things...$62 a day to park and $14.95 a day for WiFi. But rooms and beds are great and well insulated from noise. Well worth the stay.

This was a great hotel to stay in. The staff at the front desk, along with the concierge, were very friendly and welcoming. The service was quick, and the concierge spent considerable time helping us identify a good Italian restaurant to enjoy (she even called the place we chose and made reservations for us). Our room was clean, the beds were comfortable, and I particularly liked having a small room safe to store the few treasured belongings we had brought with us while we ate out. There was only one thing that we really didn't like. The hotel is quite energy-conscious, which is fine, ut there was very little water pressure in the bathroom sink; this made it hard to rinse your toothbrushes, washcloths, etc. Also, when you turned the faucet handle all the way over to the right to get cold water, it ran quite hot for a long time before it finally became cold! A little annoying but definitely not a deal-buster. We would definitely stay there again!
