I traveled to Brno to deliver a lecture at the Moravian Library. The hotel was a pleasant 15-minute walk from the library.
Impressions of note:
* Staff members were friendly; most spoke English reasonably well (I do not speak Czech).
* The room was clean and nicely-appointed. It featured a king-sized bed that was comfortable. As with most hotels in Europe with which I am familiar, the bed did not have sheets and a bedspread, but rather a couple of blankets that resembled comforters. Similarly, the room did not include an iron/ironing board, nor did I see an ice maker.
* For some reason I was unable to adjust the room temperature. (While not a major problem, it was a bit irritating.)
* A small fridge was included. It was OK; it kept drinks cold, but took a little longer to reach the desired temperature than other small fridges I have used.
* The TV screen was a little smaller than I would have liked; the channel selection was OK, with several languages represented.
* The quality of the wi-fi was good, although a little slower than I would have liked.
* The breakfast buffet (included in the price of the room) was quite good; it featured a nice variety of dishes and beverages.
* The neighborhood was very quiet during my visit. The hotel is easily accessible from a main road, but is sufficiently far from that road that I encountered no traffic noise.
* A nice feature (for me) is that a Kaufland supermarket is a short walk from the hotel.
