Okay, so let’s get this out the way: it’s a little dated but only to the 80s with some interesting decor. Something of an old school motel. But it’s clean, very well equipped, and the real winning quality: in a FANTASTIC location. You couldn’t ask for a better spot. And a shout out to John: a real friendly chap and genuinely welcoming.

one night stay was terrible.Guest upstairs were having a party till 1am.Lodge duty manager was not professional enough to get them undercontrol. And YES EXPEDIA THIS WAS OUR LAST BOOKING THROUGH YOUR AGENCY.WE BOOKED 2 ROOMS N PAID FOR 2 ROOMSWHEREELSE YOU ONLY DONE FOR 1.2 GUYS SLEPT IN THE UTE.LASTLY REFUND MY MONEY.THATS ALL.

The views of the park and lake were great, but unfortunately it rained most of the time we were there. The room was large and well appointed. The queen bed was very nice, but the pull-out bed for our daughter wasn't fit for an adult (uncomfortable).

Good location, clean but expensive motel
Pretty good location, within walking distance to the lake as well as a lot of eating places. Room is clean with a well-stocked kitchenette. So it's pretty decent for a motel. Main gripe I have about this place is that it's pretty overpriced at NZD230 per night for a motel. Security can be said to be non-existent as anyone can walk in and the office leaves all the keys to the rooms easily accessible for anyone. Also a bit weird is that they didn't put bedsheets on the bed, just 2 layers of mattress protectors...

Hi, Thank you for your comments. We feel with all of the renovations carried out at the motel that we are charging a fair price. The office has 24 hour surveillance cameras and we have never had anything taken. We have new sheets, perhaps you mistook these as mattress protectors.

Very happy with this place, good location will be even better when works along the waterfront are finished. Host friendly and helpful. Will certainly consider again when visiting the city.

The check-in staff was great. Room was huge! You will love being across the stress from the lakefront and so close to Eat Street for dining options. We would definitely book here again.

Lovely freshly redecorated room and beautiful updated bathroom and kitchen. All spotlessly clean. Handy to town - restaurants are just around the corner. Beautiful location with the lake just across the road. Friendly staff 🙂

Great location and clean rooms, housekeeping were great! A little dated and bathrooms need an upgrade and not enough towels on arrival. The booking also said a queen bed and 3 single beds but it was a double bed, x1 single bed and x2 sofabeds which were very difficult to fold out. Had an issue with the Manager Barry being quite grumpy and when we were enjoying the deck area on the Saturday night at 11pm with friend's we were met with aggressive yelling from him instead of "would you mind keeping the noise down" which we would of been happy to do. We were only talking and possibly laughing a little loudly at times with our neighbors from the unit next door, no loud music etc or yelling. I have worked in hotels and the way he dealt with it was unacceptable. He did try to apologize the following day but in a backward way of making excuses for his behavior. We will not be returning

We were very pleased with our accommodation, the host was friendly and helpful. The room was perfect for what we needed, fantastic shower and the bed was super comfy!! Excellent location, handy to everything. We would definitely stay again, in fact we are booked in for next January already!!

The property is well situated and close to the heart of Rotorua. The room was clean enough and the only criticism is the condition of the bathroom. Had they been updated would have made the world of difference. On saying that it was a pleasant stay oveall

Sorry to say but it was the worst motel I have ever stayed in. Travelling a lot for work ones gets a level of expectation and this below par. The smokers area outside left the bathroom and toilet perpetually smelling like a week old dirty ashtray. Water damaged roof left the ceiling peeling and watermarked bath made me to scared to use the spa incase the jets blew in mould. Gross gross..
