Very convenient location with plenty of good restaurants within walking distance. Also, Vatican is about 20 minutes walk. The hotel itself is fairly reasonable with breakfast included. The room itself doesn’t have AC and you have to open the windows which is kind of noisy. Also, toilet seats need fixing as it keeps moving.

Front desk was more than happy to check me in, answer all questions and get me cab back to the airport. Rome is a beautiful city and I'm glad I stayed at this hotel

Good stay with basic rooms and breakfast, but very convenient location in Prati, a lovely part of Rome. Bathrooms seem a little older, but can add to the character of the hotel. Overall, very friendly and helpful staff.

Starting with the pros, the hotel is in a great location, the room was a decent size and the Wi-Fi connection was strong. That said, the decor is extremely dated. The carpets are worn out, paintwork needs attention and the lifts were rickety & old. The breakfast room is horrendous, dark & dingy - buffet was basic - coffee was awful (out of machines). Our room was really dated too, old curtains, tired old furniture and the bathroom hasn’t been updated in at least 40 years! TV didn’t always work and english channels only worked sometimes… The bar never opened, the restaurant also permanently closed. It’s a basic 2 star hotel with (very high) 4 star prices that don’t reflect the quality of the product. It needs a big investment and money spent to upgrade it to the 21st century.

Location is great, walk to many landmarks of Rome, including Vetican, Spanish Steps, Pantheon etc. Close to River and many restaurants and bars.

Hotel is in need of update. Mold in bathroom. Broken toilet seat and tub components. Dingy room , not sure how it got 4 star rating. Breakfast buffet had canned fruit ,not very good. Had better food at bus rest stop. Was in a nice neighborhood with a convenient bus stop. Not worth the money based on conditions of hotel.

The bed was unbelievably uncomfortable, it was like sleeping in a 1970’s RV, with two twin mattresses pushed together to form a queen size. The shower drained slowly with no shelves to hold your soap, razor, rag, etc… There was no iron in the room. There was a leak just above the toilet so when you were doing your business - it made you feel like you were in a Chinese water torture chamber. Staff was wonderful and very nice. The morning breakfast was amazing. The location was excellent. The lobby was great. Just the room was very disappointing.

A decent hotel,in an excellent part of city . Was there for Ryder Cup, so out all day and used hotel essentially for sleeping and ordering taxis to meet friends at another part of City . Staff were excellent, but hotel lacks a good bar/ restaurant and has the aura of a functional business hotel.

A good hotel in Rome
A well positioned hotel with a staff who could not be better. Comfortable and clean it is looking dated. I would recommend it as good value and again I must compliment the staff.

We had a wonderful stay. Staff is extremely helpful and friendly. This property is extremely well located and walking distance to all major sites. Property is in nedd of some TLC. I would recommend or stay again.

I would not recommend this hotel. The location is convenient but the beds and pillows were uncomfortable. I did not get any rest here. The bathroom and around A/C there was more than average mold. Thankfully it was only 2 nights. The staff was pleasant and helpful. That was the only good thing about this hotel

As many hotels in Italy, they present themselves as 4 star hotels, however within the ih Cicerone hotel, it seems they have 2 star rooms that are old and with poor or non maintenance: the tiles in the bathroom were broken, the grout in the bathroom was poorly applied, everything in the bathroom was very old. The room was very old also. That would not have been a problem if they would keep them well maintained. But the this is not the case. The quality of the place doesn’t correspond to the price.

We enjoyed this hotel. Olga was a very helpful staff member who lined up transportation for us. Very spacious room w a patio overlooking the Vatican. Comfy beds and spacious bathroom. Wonderful location and quiet at night.

Overall decent property, but very outdated. The mattresses are terrible and you’ll have to cope with springs digging into your back. The air conditioning also does not work properly, especially during the heat of the day. However, it does work better in the evenings.

Room met our needs for 3 people. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Only one elevator was operable so longer than usual wait for an already crowded elevator that sounded like it was ready to go any minute, as well.

AC did not work the entire stay. The establishment was aware and told us we should just open a window. Problem was we were on a Main Street and it made sleep impossible. I have stayed aboard many times, and I get the ac is not the same as the US. The whole building literally had none. On top of ac issues there was no Wi-Fi the entire stay. Lack of Wi-Fi makes navigating and confirming travel very difficult. The description of the hotel stated close to multiple things, when in fact it is not. Lastly, the hotel staff was quite rude in every interaction we had with them. Not a place I would recommend to anyone. Rome is amazing, just find somewhere else to stay.

Not so impressed
Pictures on website does not show how the hotel actually is. It is a bit worn out. Only one elevator works. Most importantly there is no air conditioning. Breakfast is very good and location great.

Brilliant property, great breakfast for only $12 and free coffee/tea 24 hours in front of the lifts. Great front desk staff who allowed us early check in at 11 am. Shopping was 15 mins walk, great restaurants around.

We like that the hotel was clean the breakfast was great and the staff was friendly!! We felt comfortable and will definitely recommend it to anyone going to Rome! We would definitely stay there again!!

We stayed at this hotel for one night and the experience was terrible. Below is a factual review of our experience using positives and negatives. Positives; 1) It's located right at the heart of Rome, 10min walk to Vatican and the main attractions around there so it's very convenient, location-wise. 2) The staff were nice and very helpful. From check in to check out, they do their best to help out customers. Negatives; 1) Same as all the attractions in Rome, this hotel is old and the rooms are representative of that. Contrary to what the photos on booking sites show, wallpapers coming out, black or missing grout in bathrooms and old world interior forms part of your stay. 2) Air conditioning, blows hot air regardless of selecting lower temperatures or not. We complained about the room being too hot and they sent someone over to open the window and tell us to sleep with the windows open. As we were sleep deprived we went to sleep as it is with multiple disruptions throughout the night with vehicles honking and people screaming down below. 3) Breakfast? Pathetic. It's free yes but not impressed with the supermarket quality juices and low quality stuff offered. Overall a pretty terrible outcome for us, thank goodness we were in Rome and wasn't confined to our hotel room.

Decent hotel in great location
Don't expect air conditioning in October even if it's hot outside. We were told the bathroom had a sink/mirror in the open and tub/shower/toilet behind closed doors (which would have worked well for our family of 3) but sink/mirror was in the bathroom behind closed doors. Breakfast was good; in-hotel restaurant not great for dinner. Elevators were a bit scary and not always working.

It was just ok - I was expecting more. The front desk staff turned out to be very disappointing. There were usually 3 or 4 people on duty but every time I approached them I felt I was imposing There was no concierge so I was depending on them for info about restaurants etc in the area.
