Great staff and service with clean rooms. Unfortunately, there is not much in the surrounding area. Metro or taxi is needed to get to main attractions or restaurants as there is not much within reasonable walking distance.

The hotel was really nice. Unfortunately, they put two twin beds together with two separate twin bed frames, so if you got anywhere near the middle of the bed, they would move apart. Sad for such a beautiful hotel!!

Classy Hotel in Rome
The Aurelius hotel is a beautiful establishment in Rome. It's close to the metro. We loved our room with a terrace overlooking the street. It's located in a not-so-good neighborhood but we didn't have any problems. Glad they have a McDonald's close by.

The hotel is quite lovely and pleasant to stay in despite the neighbourhood not being the most ideal location. The room was clean and spacious enough for functionality. The staff were friendly and helpful as w entries to navigate the public transport system. The breakfast was mediocre, not the greatest we’ve had on our trip.

It was an art gallery which enhanced the feeling of Ancient Rome! Breakfast was very good and the staff was friendly! Felt very cared for and special!

Great place and location. Everything was adequate up to very nice. Would have no problem staying there again and would recommend it. The breakfast was superb, close to bus and train stations too.

The area in the hotel is located did not look great, but it is only round the corner from the Metro station and 10 minutes away from the Vatican, 16 from Spanish Steps. We didn't spend a huge amount of time at the hotel, going to Rome in the morning and returning late evening. The extra facilities in the 'Lovely Room' were a good addition, which we used. The hot breakfast selection wasn't the best we have had, but saying that the pastries were delicious. Staff were all very helpful and extremely friendly during our stay.

We lost 1500 euros and 500 dollars from our room. It was a horrible stay and they wouldn't even check the security cameras. Their were no security cameras around the room and common areas. The staff was extremely rude and uncooperative. I would urge guests not to choose this property as it was also in a very unsecure location which is why we felt uncomfortable taking cash with us outside the hotel. The room had very uncomfortable bed for a couple. It was close to the metro station. I would never visit this property again. When we questioned about the lost money they kept telling us you should have left the money in the locked box. We can't be responsible for missing valuables in the room which is a ridiculous statement. They didn't even show regret for letting this theft happen. The reception desk staff was very rude. For your own safety, avoid this property.

Me and my friend stayed there 5 days . The staff were really friendly and helpful . Everyone’s can speak English . They really looked after for us. Our room was cleaned every day . The hotel inside very beautiful . I really recommend this place .

Loved this quirky hotel. Staff are professional and friendly. The room and hotel cleanliness was excellent. There are small courtyards to sit in with some rooms having small private areas with table and chairs outside. Air conditioning as standard with WiFi freely available. Breakfast is 10 euros each and although there isn’t a dedicated restaurant, there are plenty of local places to eat in. The Metro station is just round the corner and getting to see the sights is easy. The Vatican is only a few stops away and there are plenty of cafes and bars to drink and eat. You have to change at Termini to get the metro to the Colosseum but it really isn’t complicated. It costs 7 euros for a 24 hour metro ticket and there are ticket machines in all stations. Everybody was helpful if we got stuck and we had no trouble with language issues. If you go in the high season it is best if you book jump the queue trips with tourist companies locally or through Expedia etc. we were very happy with the hotel and recommend it. If we go back to Rome we will return there. Thank you to all the friendly wonderful staff who helped make our staff such a pleasant one.

The staff was wonderful. The area that this property is in is very accessible but not the best neighbourhood. Streets weren't very clean but there were many very good restaurants around.

The photo/description on the Hotels.com site was NOT accurate. We were initially directed to a room the size of a closet with the strangest electricity requirement - you could only use electricity when in the room (key card had to be inserted into the wall to be able to use lights etc.). This meant that you had to physically be in the room to charge a laptop! We paid A LOT of money to be "upgraded" to a slightly larger room with normal outlets. The staff helped but it was costly. Be prepared for a rough neighborhood far outside of the city area and a rock-solid bed.

We stayed at the Aurelius for 5 nights (June 2019) and booked a triple occupancy room (1 double bed and 1 twin bed). We were 2 adults and 1 teenager of 15 years. LOCATION: It is near the Cornelia metro station (3 min. walk) and near the bus stop 916 that will take you to Piazza Venezia. We also took the SIT bus from the airport to a stop near the hotel. ROOM: Our room was on what they called the mezzanine and was big enough and very quiet. There is a busy street in front of the hotel, but once inside, we did not hear the noise of it. The room and the bathroom were clean. It had a fridge, safe, TV, hairdryer, small desk and chair, wardrobe and 2 bed tables. The shower was big enough for 2 with 2 shower heads. The TV did not have any english channels working. We asked at the front desk and they said they would check. But we did not hear about it again. But this is minor. BREAKFAST: We had the breakfast included. It was good but was the same for the 5 mornings that we were there. Scrambled eggs, sausages or bacon, rice and boiled vegetables, pastries, juice, coffee machine, yogurt, fruit, cereals, cake, cold cuts and cheese. You can order something different if you want to pay extra. OTHER :The personnel at the reception was very helpful. We depended on the metro/bus to get us to the center of Rome. Only once during our stay did we need to grab a cab because the metro/bus was on strike. CONCLUSION: I highly recommend the hotel. We felt safe and it was quiet.

I liked the property. Did not like that the entrance is sooo close to a busy street. The shower was extremely small. There was a terrible smell emanating from the bathroom. Room was small.

The hotel was very nicely presented as were the rooms. Very clean. Room included plenty of towels, shampoo packets, razor, shower cap, hair dryer. TV only had 4 English stations (Russian Television, France news, China Global news and China Global news documentary station). In our room the beds were two singles together so there was a rift in the middle. Our A/C didn't blow that hard or that cool, but didn't really need it during our stay. Shower wasn't "hot", but adequately warm. Fridge wasn't "cold", but adequately cool and stocked with some soda, a beer and water. No freezer or ice on site, but a grocery store across the street that sells small bags of ice (and everything else). Staff is very friendly and has a list of excellent restaurants less than a block away. Also, very close to the metro and bus stops. 12 euros for a 24hr pass on the metro and city buses. This hotel might be a couple miles from the city, but transportation is almost right out the door. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

We stayed at the hotel for our honeymoon and the receptionist was very helpful and upgrade our room for us which was really lovely of her. All the staff were helpful and friendly and couldn't fault the hotel at all. It was a shame the bar was closed but had no impact on our stay at all.
