Our stay at the hotel was perfect. It is conveniently located on the edge of the old town and is right next to the bus for the airport. The breakfast is exceptional sets you up for a day of exploration.

Great stay.
The Metropole is a grand old hotel. It’s lovely and in a good location, just on the edge of Old Town and a 20 minute walk to the Art Nouveau section. The breakfast is superior with many delicious offerings. Staff friendly and helpful.

I emailed the hotel several times that I would like a quiet room away from the elevator and one that is not facing a busy street. At check in I received a room facing the very busy street. I asked to have my room changed and the guy in charge acknowledged that they received my email requests but said in Russian to the trainee at the reception “give her the small room” not realizing that I understand Russian. It was the smallest room on the floor. When I opened my not so big suitcase (26”) it filled the space between the window and the bed leaving me a small passage to the bathroom and door on the other side of the bed. I believe I was downgraded based on the description of the room I prepaid for. When I mentioned to the guy in charge that the room was very small, he shamelessly offered me an upgrade for €40 a night. Hence the 2 stars. The location was great within walking distance to all the major tourist attractions in old town Riga.

Absolutely lovely hotel. Clean with brilliant breakfast. Close to everything including the bus and train stations and the old town. Would highly recommend.

Lovely stay
Lovely hotel located on the edge of the old town, close to railway and bus station. Nice breakfast, attentive and helpful staff. If we returned to Riga we would stay here. Excellent all round.

Fantastic hotel in great location
I had a fabulous stay at Metropole. The hotel has been recently renovated and it has the upscale feel to it without being obnoxious or intimidating. The rooms are spacious and everything is done with attention to detail, including breakfast. Bedding is very comfy (the bed is a bit too firm but not a problem for me), fluffy towels, heated floor in bathroom, powerful AC, everything is just perfect. It’s an old building, so the rooms are also well-insulated. The desk is also comfortable if you need to use a laptop while staying here. The curtains keep room very dark. The hotel guests seem respectable, so you won’t have problems with loud drunk guests roaming the corridors. I highly recommend this hotel to any discerning visitor. Great location too near shopping and transport.

We had a very small dog with us, choosed this hotel because it’s pet friendly. At the reception they charged us for the dog about a quarter from the room price, it doesn’t matter if the pet is a hamster or a horse, the price is the same.

Due to the fact that various guests stay in the hotel, also with allergies. The rooms after the animals are cleaned more specifically and for a longer time in order to avoid unpleasant moments for our guests. Great Location
Really like this place. On the 5th floor. Superior room booked but appeared to be a suite. Well furnished. Room was over warm but i could turn the radiator on and off. Bar really quiet but service excellent

We loved the friendly staff and great decor .The room was fabulous with lovely decor and so spacious with loads of drawers and hanging space for your clothes with a separate dressing area .Ironing facilities available nice toiletries even bristle shoe brushes to clean your shoes

Location is great. Rooms nice but a little cramped around wardrobes and bathroom. Breakfast good except dishwater coffee. No parking facility so can be expensive using meters and not always space near hotel.

The best value hotel in Riga
Excelent location. Great hotel,nice and helpful hotel staff. We have bin in Riga many many times and tried diffrent hotels. But this is ouer top chice. Great value.
