We had high hopes for Le Home St. Louis but were sadly disappointed. The young men who work the desk were very nice, but the hotel itself was a let down. We were not able to check in at the published time. When we were finally able to check in, our room was quite run down. There was no air conditioning so the first floor room was quite warm. The room was old and musty, the faucet was coming out of the moldy countertop and the shower was clogged. We only learned the shower was clogged after the front desk person had to enter the room to turn on the hot water after I tried to take a shower. We were moved to another room and the shower in that room was clogged and smelled of sewer. So, after another thirty minutes the hotel attendant brought me to the last triple room. It had not been cleaned from the previous patrons’ stay. We were asked to wait and the hotel attendant would clean it. About 45 minutes later he came to our room exhausted and sweaty to let us know the third-floor room was ready. For a third time we packed our things and trudged our bags up the steps. This room was much more updated but was still dirty. The rubbish bin had dirty diapers and garbage from the previous patrons that smelled terribly. Once we finally settled in after nearly three hours of moving room to room, we left for dinner to find everything closed. We came back and tried to sleep but found it difficult because of the outside noise And warm, humid conditions. Two thumbs down.
