Really great location to get to the palace and the room had everything you needed. Rooms are very small though and the showers were not designed well and just spray water all over.

Beautiful hotel, great location, friendly and warm staff but no aircondition in rooms. Can be a challenge when weather is warm. They gave us 2 electric fans.

This hotel had a lot of character, in a way that I like. It was comfortable, and within easy walking distance to the Chateau. Everyone was very friendly, and breakfast was standard but good, and the dining area was pleasant.

This was our base for visiting Versailles and the palace. The St Louis neighborhood street where the hotel was located was quiet with several nice restaurants within a block or two, and many more tourist restaurants on Rue Satory just 4 blocks away. The train station, Gare Rive Gauche (Paris trains) was a 7 minute walk and Gare Versailles Chantiers (regional trains, e.g., Chartres) was a 14 minute walk. Hotel staff was very accommodating. Lovely, charming hotel.

On check out sadly we encountered an incredibly rude receptionist / apparent owner. Demanding payment for our stay that was already paid to ebookers in advance. The room was adequate, disappointingly the customer service wasn’t! I wouldn’t recommend this hotel to any friends or family. A very poor attitude from a business owner!

At check in the receptionist tried to put us in a much smaller room because it was ready. I immediately complained and was given told it wouldn’t be ready for a few hours. However I had spoken to the maid who was already cleaning it. I told reception this and he tried to get the maid to not do it. It was very strange.

1-Night Stay
We only stayed at the hotel for 1-night so the review is based on this short trip. The location is excellent; approx. 15-minute walk to the Palace, close to restaurants and local shops etc. The staff is very courteous and the room was comfortable. If we were ever back in Versailles - Hotel la Residence du Berry will definitely be on my list.

This was a great spot for our group of five friends. We stayed in one of the apartment Style units (I don’t know if they have more than one). It had three bedroom areas (one was living room with pull out) and three showers! (Two full baths). The location is great and walkable to everything, especially the Versailles palace. Friendly staff, very clean and comfy, and it was super quiet, which was great for this jet lagged traveler !

Nice Hotel
We booked this hotel last minute as we arrived a night early and the other hotel we booked for the folks nights was too expensive last minute. This hotel was great. Clean, easy to find, had street parking, staff was very nice and check in was extremely quick. It is a good price for a 3 star hotel in Versailles.

This hotel is very well located, about 10 mins walk from the Station and 10 mins from the Palace at the quieter end of town. The building was old but our room, though a little small had been updated and had everything one could want including a well equipped bathroom, good internet and very comfy beds. The staff were all lovely and very helpful.

FRAUD ALERT!!
This hotel engages in deceptive business practices. We were victims of a bait and switch. After reserving a family suite with a double and two singles ( a room that does not exist in this hotel) they tried to force us into two seperate rooms( not adjoining) . Since my family has 2 small children this was not ok and since we arrived on a holiday and Versailles was 95% booked hotels.com was unable to rebook us and we were forced into a tiny double. Additionally even though we already paid (through hotels.com) they tried to collect again as we were leaving. Lastly the taxi they arranged for us to the train station a 4 min ride away charged us 20 euros. This is a bad business run by people trying to take advantage of American Tourists. STAY AWAY. You have been warned.

Recommend this hotel
Lovely, clean, small hotel in the centre of Versailles. Set in a quiet street off the main high street, it has a small lift, bar, billards room and free wifi. Easy walk to station, palace and shops. Friendly staff and the option to have continental breakfast for €14. This quiant hotel would probably suit couples and adults best as children and teenagers might find it too quiet - we loved it.

Great place to stay but not quite as described.
A very good place to stay in a fabulous location for anyone wanting to visit Versailles. Staff were very friendly, not always true in Paris! The only reason I would not award five stars is because the room was not as described. We booked a room with one double and two single beds but got a room with one double bed and a sofa bed. Fine for the three of us that stayed but would not have worked well had there been four of us. Otherwise would highly recommend.

Nice hotel. We arrived Sunday evening. It was very quite in the surrounding roads. The receptionist did not seem to know what restaurants / bars were open but we found a lovely local bar for drinks and plates of charcuterie/ fromage a couple of minutes walk from the hotel.

Charming small hotel in quiet St Louis area.
Lovely small hotel. Really helpful staff. Cute little bar and small courtyard and lounge area to have drink in. V comfy beds. No car park but Cathredral c/park 5 mins walk. Also, parking on street in front of hotel free sometimes - ask staff when. Bit of a nuisance having to keep moving car from one to other. Can buy a 2 or 3 day pass from machine in car park to make it bit cheaper as very expensive. Versailles Palace/gardens need 2 days + as HUGE! La Salamandre restaurant lovely - 3 mins walk. Also La Parnasse. We found lots of menus were in French but staff always happy to translate. Most people spoke some English, but do try to speak French - I'm not great but it was fun and people appreciate it. French people really lovely. Train tickets seem to cover Metro too, but check. Best to get to Paris from Versailles Rive Droit station - 30 min journey. We bought a museum pass - skip line - with hop on/off bus tour and 1hour boat trip - 102 euros per adult. Quite good. Under 26s go free in lots of museums etc so take id. BIG queue to go up Eiffel Tower - stair queue much shorter. 4 toll roads from Le Havre to Versailles? Prices ranged from 2.20 to 3.70 euros. Different lanes for coins and card. We got a money card from Post Office. Acts as debit card. Lots of places accepted it as it's MasterCard. Wear comfy shoes for lots of walking around sight-seeing. Lots of big cobble stones, esp in Versailles city, vast and quieter than Paris.

Nice friendly hotel near Versailles, but noisy
Staff couldn't have been more helpful, friendly or welcoming. Hotel was quaint and very clean. Breakfast was good in pleasant surroundings. Only downsides - no air conditioning made sleeping difficult. Also - we had two very disturbed nights. First night we were woken by two dogs barking in the next room. The following night, a group of businessmen stayed in the courtyard that our room overlooked sharing a drink and talking loudly till after midnight. Shame - otherwise we enjoyed the service, the location and the pool table!

Wonderful, helpful staff
The staff are what really make Residence du Berry shine. Stephanie greeted us at check in and from that moment on, we were treated like old friends. We felt comfortable and at home right away. Her restaurant recommendations were always spot-on for what we were looking for. The location is excellent, a full 10 minute walk from.the Palace Versailles and, along the way we would pass boulangerie's, the Cathedral St Louis and a pedestrian zone of cafes and restaurants. We explored Versailles, did a day trip to Giverny as well as to Paris, all while having the comfort of a friendly place to stay.

Nice hotel near in Versailles
I was in the area to visit the Palace of Versailles and gardens. I stayed two nights. It was nice, cute and quiet. The staff was friendly and helpful. I had a good breakfast there every morning. My room was a little bit small but I expected that because it is a very old building and I have heard rooms in Paris and surrounding areas are normally a little small. I am from the USA and was born in Texas and everything is big there! It was absolutely perfect for just me but I think they have several different rooms to accommodate more people. The hotel has been renovated and I think it was cozy and cute. I would definitely stay again if I am in Versailles.

Absolute gem!
We had wonderful 2 nights there: cosy, comfortable and quiet. Conveniently close to Versailles Chateau (10 minutes walk). The area is very quiet, no traffic noise or any other disturbance. The hotel is very smart inside and out. Tastefully decorated throughout. The inner courtyard whilst having breakfast was a delight to view through the large windows.
