I was really pleased with our choice of Hotel Berne Opera for our first stay in Paris. Although a small hotel, it had everything we needed. The location was great, a minute or so away from the Metro and a short walk to a wide choice of restaurants. The Opera area was a short 15-minute walk with Montmartre Village and Sacre Coeur just 25 minutes walk away. When we arrived to leave our luggage a couple of hours before check in, we were delighted to find our room already ready for us. An accessible, ground floor room, it was spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was great and there was even a small games room. We would stay at Hotel Berne Opera again.

The staffs and the owner is very cooperative. In our stay, we were new to Paris beyond hotel service they assist us by explaining metro routes and assisting on shuttle service.

I have enjoyed repeated stays at this property and appreciate the location, the breakfast, and the staff, but my experiences are somewhat overshadowed by the baffling hotel communication before my most recent stay. I requested a specific room through Expedia’s messaging system. I was told that the room was not available during my stay. I understand! I then asked for a room with a balcony but was told that all balcony rooms were unavailable as well. I understand! At check-in, I mentioned my communication about a balcony room. Not only were balcony rooms available, but the EXACT ROOM I wanted was available and given to me. Why such "No and No" communication before check-in but then "Yes and Yes" at check-in? I can't help but feel that the hotel treats guests differently based on how they initially book (3rd party Expedia vs. Hotel Berne Opera site). From my perspective, I was either lied to about room availability, or the hotel had no accurate room availability information while communicating with me. I also considered the possibility that the requested room had later become available through a cancellation, but they could have easily told me this through our Expedia messages. They had also sent me a confusing message regarding check-in preferences through the messaging system. You will very much enjoy the hotel once there, but please do not expect clear or accurate communication beforehand.

overall it is a fair hotel, however pictures shows a way better than it is actually. Also I asked a taxi at the reception, the receptionist sent me to walk at the street to find one.

This is a great location and has a great breakfast. It is close to Sacre Couer and Moulin Rouge. It is also one block away from the Rome subway stop. I would highly recommend!

Beware of their Sleazy Front Desk Agents
This hotel advertises that they have airport shuttle so I arranged one on the evening before check-out. I learned that they don’t have shuttle but the front desk agent called the taxi for us. I’m not sure if the hotel is pulling this scam or just the individual at the front desk, but he insisted that I should pay €15 in cash as a booking deposit which he claimed would be added to the €60 taxi flat rate going to the airport. Fast forward to check-out date, our taxi arrived and told us that we still need to pay the full €60 and that our driver never received the cash deposit that I paid the night before.

Room wasn’t ready when we arrived. Reception permitted luggage storage which was nice. Bed sheets were stained/dirty and the hotel wouldn’t change them because the maids had already departed for the day. Room was freezing at night (no ac/heating).

Overall good
This is a reliable mid-range hotel with good transport connections. Our room had a kettle, an empty mini-fridge which was useful for keeping some snacks and drinks chilled. The lift was tiny, there is space for one person and a suitcase, but that is not unusual in Paris. The only little complaint which I have are the pillows, they were not comfortable. The room was on a quiet street without traffic noise and with good insulation. Another positive thing were the Fragonard toiletries in the bathroom.

Great location but not amazing hotel
The hotel is located in a great area and very close to the Metro station. The staff was really nice and tried to help with everything we needed. The room was cleaned every day. The hotel is not very well maintained (many broken tiles in the bathroom, poor showerhead with clogs and what felt like a broken floor) also, we found that the walls were really thin and the rooms are very close together so we heard bathroom breaks, shower usage and TV from the next rooms. Overall we had a good stay but we were only at the hotel between 21:00 - 9:00 most days.

Staff were lovely. Hotel/room was very run down. Rips in the headboard stuck back with duct tape. Quite noisy from rooms above and outside in the court yard area. Although price I paid was probably reasonable for Paris. Wouldn't rush back

Worth the stay at Hotel Berne Opera.
This was my first time to Paris. I enjoyed my stay at Hotel Berne Opera. The location is very central to the attractions at a very reasonable price. The staff was very helpful in helping me to make my trips to the tourist attractions and places to eat. The internet was great and the room very comfortable. Breakfast needs some help, but everything else was as advertised.

Clean rooms serviced daily. Near to Metro. 15/20 minute walk to Montmartra. Restaurants and bars nearby. 24/7 reception with helpful front desk. Unstable wifi at time of visit.

Good hotel in a good location
The hotel was good in a quiet neighborhood with nearby public transport and a supermarket just around the corner. The staff was nice and professional (especially Pascal who was super helpful) with the exception of Mandy who was indifferent and antisocial. The rooms were clean and in a good state. We were comfortable staying there except with a problem with the doors where the locking mechanism was sometimes on the fritz. However, the hotel staff and manager were responsive and even offered to switch rooms.

Great location in a traditional Parisian neighborhood. Very close to Metro, and a parking garage IF you need one. Wonderful balconies on the street side rooms.

Nice hotel, small comfy room, spotty wifi
Nice hotel in Paris. From what I've heard, most Paris hotels are very small so it was what I expected. I forgot my converter/adaptor for plugs but luckily the hotel lets you borrow them (just will put a 20 euro hold but will delete it when you return the converter at check out). The wifi is very spotty, luckily we had our own pocket wifi. Housekeeping does not really clean your room, they will just tidy it up by emptying out the trash, tucking your bed in a little bit. Overall good stay.
