we had no tv service-I had to unplug the phone because of a constant beeping. The flag outside looked as though it had been in a war. The downstairs bathroom was disgusting. Will not stay there again very disappointed!!!

Older hotel that is not updated. Room was dirty with candy wrappers in couch. TV did not work. No blanket for sofa bed. Shower did not work well. Towels were older and rough. Arrived later after a 10 hour drive. No parking available. Had to park at gas station next door and hope I would not get towed. Front desk person said there is not enough parking for hotel and staff. Pitiful. Would not stay here EVER again especially for over $200 a night!!

I was traveling and stopped here fir the night. There were no towels in the room. The TV didn't work without a code. I am glad I was only there long enough to rest.

Yes, it's unfortunate that we have a 1:1 parking-to-guestroom ratio. We do our best to advertise that our parking is limited, too. I didn't even stay here. I checked into my room and checked right back out. It was dirty and musty smelling. Stray hairs on the bed and bathroom floor. Three one bright spot is the lady at the front desk. I don't remember her name. She was so sweet. The door to the stairwell that goes outside was open and would not shut. Not safe at all. And the only way to get into the hotel parking lot from west bound 200 is to turn at I75. And then you have to drive through the BP gas station to leave the hotel. I went down the road to the Hilton. It was more expensive but I felt safer there.

Horrible experience
The hotel was not well equipped (vending machines). It had a bad odor to it. When I was checking in 2 people in front of me were complaining of their rooms with mold on the ceiling. The front desk swapped one of their rooms and then ended up giving me the molded room. When I asked her about it she just shrugged her shoulders. The room was not very clean. You could see something spilled on the couch and was not wiped up. Mold all over the ceiling. When we hung our bag on the holder in the bathroom it fell out of the wall.

Will never stay here again
Usually Country Inn & Suites hotels are pretty good. NOT this one. Hallways were filthy. It is on the main road so we heard cars racing all night. At 3:00 in the morning someone was beating on a door down the hall for over 15 minutes. I tried to call the desk and no one answered. To top off a sleepless night, the breakfast was awful. no cups for the coffee, no forks,--had to look in drawer below to find a cup. Most of the food was gone (8:30am) and the juice machine was out of all juices.

Not what it seems
While I can’t speak for the whole hotel, our room looked like it was in dire need of some remodeling and they chose to slap a coat of paint over it instead. It smelled awful, the AC unit kicked on and off and sounded like a jet engine every time. There were cracks and mildew in the shower among other places. The couch in the sitting area looked like it had been found on the side of the road, room service took our used towels but didn’t replace them, which meant I had to hunt down the night manager. Breakfast was extremely limited, and we bought breakfast elsewhere both mornings as a result. Thankfully despite our two night stay, we were only staying in the hotel for a place to crash at night otherwise we would have left and gone somewhere else.

Employees were friendly, we were there for 8 hours, sleep woke up and left. There was a roach crawling in the bathroom that we had to kill, the room had a nasty smell to it like there had been smoking in there before and the curtains that are suppose to block the light was broken, so while trying to sleep the street light was shining right into the window.

I rented this hotel room for one night based on its location. When you enter you’re greeted by a very strong unpleasant odor. The hallways have wrinkles due to water damage. It’s obvious that the room itself may have luxurious at some point, but now the mattress sinks in the middle, the a/c is noisy,, the tub has rust stains and amenities are almost nonexistent.

The room smelled like cat pee, the hallway carpets desperately needed cleaning and clearly hadn’t been vacuumed in days. There was hair in the shower. The curtains were falling off the rod. The phone didn’t work. Chunks of who knows what came out of the hot tub jets. The front desk clerk didn’t look up from her phone when I went to check out. A few minutes later I saw her carrying her two sleeping children out to her car. The lobby bathrooms were locked because they were “out of order.” We’d already checked out of our room and had nowhere to use the facilities after breakfast. It was absolutely horrible. Wendy - First, let us say thank you for choosing our hotel in the first place. Next, please allow us to apologize for the condition of the room you were checked into - we can assure you this is not the standards we uphold here at Country Inn of Ocala; truly, we apologize that you had such a negative experience at our property. The bathrooms were indeed out of order at that time, as there was a plumbing issue which is causing those toilets to overflow if used; we've had a plumber out twice already, to attempt to clear whatever is blocking the shared draining between the two lobby restrooms, but the issues is recurring. We will be contracting a sewage company with specialty tools (such as a type of endoscope, to investigate blockages), who will be better suited to resolve that problem. On behalf of the desk clerk at your check out, we'll provide some guidance on being more attentive to guests on their way in, out, or just passing through the lobby. We understand, though, how hard being a single working mother can be; perhaps she had no one at home to ensure her children were safe, and had no choice but to bring them to work - what better place than a hotel, a place meant for resting.We do hope that in the future, we may have a chance to redeem your opinion of our building, staff, service and amenities, and wish you safe travels in the meantime.

Hi, Cheryl - you're absolutely right, we do need some updating. But the good news is, we have those updates coming in the future. We're even working on some of them now, like sprucing up our external appearance, and making the shrubbery outside look more inviting. We have even more than that planned, although the major things will take some time. We recently entered the family of Choice Hotels, so they, along with our property management team, are getting us up to the standards our guests expect of us. Hopefully we'll even exceed those expectations, soon!Still, we appreciate your feedback, and we'll keep in mind that things still need work, and continue to improve.
