Accommodations were good, but breakfast was misrepresented in the Hotels description.

Thank you for your review. I had spoken to you 3 times personally on the phone and had explained to you at that time that you will be staying in a private home. I also explained that we had a Coffee Nook and this Coffee Nook offers instant coffee, tea, cappuccino and juice and we also offer yogourt, fresh fruit, sweet and savory baked goods. Our guests can help themselves to our Coffee Nook all day long. I think from what we offer our guests in our coffee nook can be considered to be a continental breakfast. It is clearly stated on our description that we offer a coffee nook. I find that a lot of guests don't read the description on our listing, nor do my guests read the emails I send out. I have found since 2000, that's the length of time we've been in the vacation rental business, that when I speak to my guests personally, (which I do to all of my guests), I always reach out to my guests explaining about our unique property and what we offer in the way of service. Not all of my guests really hear what I'm informing them about. I also explained to you that on Expedia they don't offer a different category other than Continental breakfast. I have asked Expedia to do something about the breakfast description, but I don't think an alternate is available on their site at this time. STAY FAR AWAY!
STOP! PLEASE read this review before even considering booking this "place". My wife and I were booked to stay here this past labor day weekend. Once we arrived there was no one there to greet us, and we had to search for the key ourselves to get in. Once we walked into the home it was very dark, and what first struck me was the OVERWHELMING foul odor. It smelled like incense and perhaps along with d rugs and bleach. We felt nauseated and did not want to stay. We tried to get in contact with one of the owners, Chris, but she would not pick up (even between the hours of check in). When she finally picked up the phone - which was hours later, she argued with us and stated there was no odor, and it was only lavender filling the air. Well, after a few more texts and phone calls, she fully admitted that the person previously in the room had a blatter issue and they had to clean up the room with bleech and lavender. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! If we didn't complain about the smell when we first walked in, we would have been sleeping in p ee covered by lavender all night! The previous customer had a catheter and experienced an issue (not their fault). We LUCKILY found an available room at the Hilton and stayed for the night. I was relieved. The owner Chris still has not paid us back after stating she would, and will not return our phone calls., I would advise anyone looking for a place to not stay here; they will ask for payment upfront by email money transfer, and now I know why.

Thank your for your review, I reached out to you on the phone before your visit which I do with all of my guests, and I do this in order to find out if there's anything I can do to make their stay with us more comfortable. You didn't ask about any specifics, I did mention over the phone that we weren't a Bed and Breakfast. If you had any questions about our accommodation that would have been the time on the phone to speak to me, I asked if there was anything I could do to make your stay more comfortable. You answered no there wasn't. When I met you at the house, and I asked you if everything was OK, you told me everything was fine. If you had a problem with the TV and the cleanliness why didn't you tell me at that time. I can't fix anything if you didn't tell me. The onus is on the guest to inform us if there anything we can do to make our guests feel more comfortable in our home. Our home is very clean and we get a 5 out of 5 for cleanliness, so I don't quite know what you're referring to about cleanliness. I know that you were disappointed that we didn't serve breakfast, but as I explained to you we're not a Bed and Breakfast. We do however offer a coffee nook that guests can take advantage of 24 hours a day. Our guests are very happy with this alternative. I appreciate you taking the time to write a review and I'm sorry that we didn't meet all of your requirements to give us a score of 5 out of 5. Perhaps next time you can read the description of the accommodation to make sure that it will meet all of your needs and also call and speak to the owner of the home to find out about any other information that is important for your stay. First visit to NOTL
I enjoyed my visit. The area is great for a night a quaint little town. Notl is a bit pricey, but we enjoyed our stay. The accommodations suited our needs for 1 night.

Very comfy and cozy!
Perfect accommodations for the type of trip planned! Very close distance to the Jackson Trigg's Winery which was the venue, in the amphitheatre, for a great Canadian band.

Great, but the internet does not work!
Large and comfortable room. All first-rate ... but far from the center!

I just wanted to add that we are a 5 minute car ride to the downtown centre of the town of Niagara on the Lake. We're located in a beautiful residential area near Lake Ontario and the Conservation area. We're a hop, skip and jump from the Jackon-Triggs Winery, so that when they hold their concerts our guests can walk to the winery from my home. Kind Regards Maria Rekrut

The Silver Maple B & B in Niagara on the lake
We enjoyed conversation at breakfast with two other couples. The location is idel for other meals and snacks and close proximity to theatre . A beautiful pleasure drive on Lakeshore Road passing orchards and wineries where farm fruits and vegetables can be purchased and beautiful choices of hand-made pottery .
