A welcome like never before
Very warm welcome from Chris who had called us a few hours prior to arrival to establish if we would require a table for the evening as it was pretty busy he didn’t want us to miss out. First class service I thought. Great hotel, food and drinks on offer were really good at fair prices too. We used this hotel as a base for a visit to the Dalwhinnie Distillery a few miles up the road.

Only stayed 1 night but I'd recommend it
Stayed 1 night in the hotel and was very satisfied with every aspect. The staff have done an excellent job of managing to welcome every guest and provide a service which is as close to normal as you might expect in the middle of COVID.

An enjoyable short stay
Very comfortable and clean. Staff did well under difficult conditions (pandemic) but service for evening meals was slow and erratic; the food was quite good - my lamb shank was well cooked but pathetically small and the following day's venison casserole was tasty but could have done with more meat. Breakfasts were excellent with faultless service.

Charming older hotel in quaint village
Charming older hotel with restaurant and pub on ground floor in quaint village. Staff was super nice, when we discovered there was no lift, the clerk kindly helped us take our heavy luggage up the stairs. Pub & restaurant staff equally as courteous and helpful. Bathrooms have received recent updates including power-showers. Rooms are a bit dated, but comfortable - squeaky floors, but to be expected in an older hotel. Cute village - wish we'd have had more time to explore. Be sure to check out the Highland Folk Museum nearby (it was closed during our visit, but looked really interesting and will be recognizable to "Outlander" fans), and The Wildcat Centre (look around town for the colorfully painted cats hidden in plain sight for visitors to find - clue, you'll find one at the Glen Hotel!). Beautiful mountain views from parts of the village. Restaurant had a nice selection of local items and vegetarian options. Highly recommend!
