So far all is going well. Check in was easy though parking was slightly harder. Room was larger than we expected. Quiet, comfortable and cool.

Was ok, we bought a budget room so we got what we expected, bathroom was a bit dirty, bedding had orange stains on it, radiator sounds like it’s came straight off a Boeing 737, wallpaper sadly was ripped all across the room, the bed frame was in two parts but didn’t align meaning the mattress wasn’t flat. Desk manager was very welcoming, hotel lobby is immaculate and lovely, unfortunately the rooms just weren’t good enough

I enjoyed my stay but I feel even though it is an old property some refurbishment would not come amiss. The car park is full of holes and desperately needs some work doing on it. Coffee supply at breakfast needs reviewing, especially on weekends when it is busy. But the room was nice, clean and warm and we found it quiet even though it seemed to be very busy.

We have over 300 parking spaces, and are about to commence repairs in the car park when better weather. We are also just completing our public areas refurbishments, and then commence our next phase of bedroom refurbishment.

Stayed here couple of times. Decor dated needs modernised. steam room was off along with men changing room. Gentleman on reception lovely and friendly. Breakfast was standard.

At present the steam room is awaiting a new door as previously damaged by another guest and is custom made off site. The gents changing rooms are having maintenance work and we have alternative facilities for guests. Lovely to hear you had a good Northeast welcome. Good enough as a property but the mattress and pillows weren’t great, IMO. Everything else fine, but probably wouldn’t stay again based on the bed itself. It was clean enough, but pillows and mattress were too hard for me

The room type booked do have smaller beds and thinner mattresses to our standard doubles, the pillows we could have changed if mentioned. Very friendly and helpful reception staff. Room clean and tidy and well-stocked on arrival. I didn't realise housekeeping staff would not be working Christmas day or Boxing Day when I booked, but not a major problem as any replacement items such as toiletries needed could be obtained from reception.

My basement room unbeknownst to me earlier had mold & meldrew smell, the business is definitely awere hence window was left open, Normally, i will reject the room instantly and demand my full refund but have done uptin hous drive, I was too tired to complain. Not sure if its u-bent issues in bathroom, sink or just leaks ignored over time. I have stay at a much better room here one before but this was a shocker. If a room isn't fit for animals, don't offer to humans pls.

Very comfortable hotel. Didn't really have much interaction with the staff and I was literally in, slept, and out. Only real criticism - the car park is in desperate need of re- marking.

Short and sweet stay
I arrived at 1am and needed to leave again before 6am so a very short stay but I was made to feel welcome on arrival, the hotel appeared very tidy and organised. My room was very comfortable and well equipped. I had a great if short stop over and slept very well. I would definitely recommend and stay again if in the area.

The bar area was nice and had a nice atmosphere. the carpets are torn and held together with gaffa tape, the bathroom was not very clean. the pillows were like bricks. The car park was deadly and covered in ice and had clearly not been gritted. the breakfast was cold and little choice, the tables had not been cleared and it was very messy at 5.35am a jet engine started up close to my room - I can only assume this was some kind of boiler, but it was very noisy. would not recommend staying there at all

Dear Deborah Thank you for your feedback. You would have noticed we have been busy replacing the carpets in all public areas and nearing completion of all the bedroom corridors. I shall pass your comments to our breakfast manager regarding service etc. We only grit the entrances to the hotel and not the full car park. I shall have maintenance check the room regarding the noise. Thank you for bringing to my attention.

Disappointing stay
We stayed overnight where the temperature outside at check in was below zero and the guest car park was a skating rink. Why no attempt by the staff to make the car park safe (scatter some salt?) and reduce the risk to guests walking from their car across an ice sheet to reception? No heating in the room at check in, eventually the radiators became activated 1 hour later. Saving money is admirable but surely guest safety and comfort counts for something?

Thank you for your feedback. Sorry to hear you had a disappointing stay. We salt the area at the doors and not the full car parks. The heating is individually controlled in each room, and if off can take a little time to heat the room.
