Great location , close to many attractions including Central Park , Carnegie Hall and Times Square . Clean , quiet , safe - for nyc - and near lots of dining options . Subway right there as well . They are replacing elevators so it can a little slow getting up and down but not the problem others have stated . I would stay again

The elevators sucks. I understand they are being worked on but we wait for ten minutes then took the stairs from the 10th floor it was easier that way. Also AC in rooms could have been better.

The room was super nice and in a convenient part of the city, but the elevator was down for our entire trip, meaning for 12 floors there was one elevator. There was always a huge line and it took forever to get up to our room. It was also super loud. Not city-loud, more like we could hear people running through the halls and being loud all night and early in the morning.

The air conditioning was broken. The elevator had a (no exaggeration) 15 minute wait and was broken half the time. Guests were required to use the service elevator by the GARBAGE dump which smelled horrible and had a 10 minute wait, jammed in a box fit for 4 people. Really bad service with NO reimbursement fir the chaos they failed to disclose beforehand! Never again...really bad.

We stayed for six nights. The vent in the bathroom did not work. I mentioned it several times and was told “someone would look at it”, but no one ever did. There were signs of mold in both the bathroom and the sleeping area and my allergies were awful when I was in the room. There was only one guest elevator working, and it was tiny and slow. We took to just using the staff service elevator, which was both larger and quicker, but made it so that guests were constantly underfoot of the folks working there. The hotel is in a great location, and the bedding was clean and comfortable, but those two things don’t make up for the rest. Would not stay here again.

Despite booking 3 identical rooms, one of the rooms was significantly different. You couldn't sit on the toilet or access the shower without closing the bathroom door first. Only 1 elevator was working which was not mentioned to us when checking in so we just had to stumble upon that long wait time ourselves. We were usually forced to use the service elevator which led us to areas with horrible smells and that were less than clean. It is a very noisy area but that is to be expected.

Perfect location- easy walk to Times Square, Central Park and common subway lines. There was some construction in the lobby area so elevators were somewhat inconvenient. The room was modern, clean and as much space as one could hope for in Midtown. Carpet was pretty soiled but everything else was great!

The hotel itself is in a great location for all the major areas you want to visit. The lobby and bar are very nice , however the rooms have seen better days !! Our room was situated in the centre of a dark column of other rooms with the hotels air con units at the bottom. These units were very noisy and we were on the 14th floor so must have been even louder for the people lower down ! I found it very hard to sleep personally and we asked to be moved but this never occurred. There was little to no hot water just a warmish shower every morning. The bed was however very comfortable and very big. All in all I wouldn't stay here again as the noise from the units below really made it hard to relax at any time. Also the lifts were terrible but we were in no rush and knew about this before we went. I have been to NYC many times and there are better hotels for less I am afraid.

Terrible experience. Staff was rude. Had to practically beg for a coffee maker. Called the front desk 4 times. The best part as 2 60 year olds we had to walk up 7 flights of stairs the whole stay. They had one tiny working elevator. When I called the front desk ( twice) to get an answer to when the elevator would be working. They had no answer and no call back :(

We have been staying at this hotel for years. This year was the first time we had any issues. The hotel seems a bit run down from years past. The elevators were a huge issue. My mother is 73 and thankfully still mobile but her having to do the stairs so often was a bit problematic at times. There was also not velat at the hotel anymore which will probably make our decision to not stay here again.

The elevator system is being replaced so expect a 10-15 minute wait for it in the morning and evening. They did open the service elevator for use but you just needed to plan accordingly. The room did not have a coffee maker as expected. No air conditioning but we were able to open windows and a fan was included in the room for circulation. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel does have on-demand movies which was great when we spent an evening in. Good size room for New York. Plenty of outlets everywhere including the bathroom. Loved the toiletries provided. The hotel is in a great location; walkable to both Times Square/ Theatre district and Central Park. We did have an issue with the smoke detector in the room. The staff was quick to send maintenance but instead of replacing it then (10pm), they just removed it and replaced the next day. The coffee shop in lobby was a great option for a quick grab and go breakfast. Excellent egg/ ham/ cheese croissant. Great dining options are within walking distance.

While the recent renovations for the elevators shows that this hotel is responsive to previous customers' complaints, it is evident that the building is beyond capacity. I prepared myself by reading previous guests' reviews but I can understand how these inconveniences can surprise the frazzled tourist. That being said, the early check-in time helped me avoid the worst of the elevator traffic. The rooms were clean except for a musty smell that lingered from the restroom into the bed area despite seeing (and hearing) a very active maid service in the halls. I did not appreciate the mandatory "upgrading" fee to cover the use of the office center, gym, etc. The fee should not have applied to guests who didn't need or want to use any of those services, especially when the hotel is struggling to accommodate guests' basic needs. Overall, it was alright for a 1-2 night stay where the hotel ambiance isn't imperative to the enjoyment of my vacation.

The drain in the shower was green & yellow and very gross to look at. The elevators weren't working so it was a fight to get onto the elevators after waiting 10-15 minutes for it to come to your floor most of the time you couldn't even get on because there was no space. Lastly, parking available is an exaggeration. They have a parking lot three and a half blocks away that cost $65 for one night of parking. They also add a travel fee of $45 a night on top of the cost of the room so you will end up paying another $100 on top of room cost with parking and "travel fee"

Terrific location across the street from Carnegie Hall. Easy walk to Times Square, Lincoln Square, Central Park, shopping and restaurants. The hotel is quite large and the rooms are decently sized. The bathroom was a bit musty with some small mildew stains. Unfortunately two of the lobby elevators were inoperable. Seems like this is a long-term issue and the service elevators are now available for guest use. We wanted a place close to Carnegie Hall and specific restaurants. This hotel was perfectly situated.

The elevator situation can be maddening. They are apparently working on it. Not sure of eta for fix. Location is good. Lobby is dark. Clerks not friendly nor helpful. Sirens and other traffic noise was bad on the 4th floor. Location is convenient to food and museums.

Great location, really close to Central Park and the staff were super accommodating. Unfortunately the elevator was out of arrive except for one on each side so it was extremely inconvenient and we had to wait 20-30 min each time to get to our room.

Elevators not working and weight for 10-15 mins to get the elevators. Very friendly staff though. Rooms look so old and paint cracking. Bad hotel for the money we spent. Not worth it.

The elevator eas not available do go down. We had to use stairs or the service elevator (from the 6th floor). When you get there on the check in they charge a $100 deposit that is not mentioned when you book your stay.

Only one elevator was working! So we had to wait long minutes to get to our room or come down to the lobby. The location of the hotel was great near Central Park and The Time Square, walking distance to shows and shops.

All the guest elevators were out of service, we had to use service elevator which is very inconvenient and slow, waiting time over 20 mins, terrible experience. Do not ask front desk to recommend parking for you, it's far and hard to communicate with the valet parking guy.
