We’re from New Bern and came back for a family function. Our room was not ready at 4pm. At 4:30 we asked for an update. A housekeeper walked by and told the front desk attendant the rooms had been available earlier. We had a function to attend at 5:30 and had to iron clothes but the iron had a hole in it. Went back downstairs and was told someone would bring to our room. There were no chairs on the balcony. The Doubletree was previously a Sheraton that flooded during hurricane Florence. It stood vacant for years allowing for mold. There was a mild odor in the hallways but the room seemed fine. Unfortunately, we are disappointed and will not recommend.

This place was over $300 a night, the bathroom was very very small, toliet ran and kept filling up. The soap container fell off the wall. The curtain rod opener fell off of the curtain. We ate our last night at their restaurant and I ordered the crabcakes. If there was a teaspoon of crab in the cake it would be alot. No keurig coffee maker. 2024! Oh the ice was on the ground floor We had to go down this huge hall, go down 4 floors and then walk to the restaurant, in where people were eating their dinners, ran this loud ice machine right there in front of them. Won't stay here again!

The best part about this property is its orientation over the water providing excellent views of the marina, river and bridge crossing. The room was fine, no complaints—perhaps the bathrooms throughout will be updated one day as well as entrance and lobby which are a tad nondescript.

Wonderful greeting upon our arrival. Amazing beds and accommodations. Wish the website stated the $50 charge for pet. When we arrived that was a surprise. The rate for the room was already high, highest in area. So to add the $50 for a 15 pound dog was more than I wanted to spend as a stopover during a 17 hour drive

We had a great stay with our family of 5. The customer service was excellent--from warm cookies, to piles of towels, to a rollaway bed to stop the kids from arguing--they took care of it all with a great big smile.

We really enjoyed our stay. From the front desk to our lovely room. The view was beautiful. We were within walking distance of many great stores. We took the trolley and soaked up amazing History. This was a great trip.

For the price paid, ~$300 per night, the room should have been much nicer. The heating/cooling units were very noisy, day and night. We all had very poor sleep each night. The foldout couch mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. The bathroom ceiling leaked, due to construction in the room directly above. Hardly any baggage carts ( 5 maybe) in the entire hotel. But, service at Christoph's bar and restaurant was great, as was the omelet station chef!
