We had a fantastic 4 night stay at Sunset at the Palms. We loved being among the flora and fauna in our bungalow with a picturesque beach only steps away. Our spa experience was wonderful thanks to Brenda and Jolina. There were lots of activities at the resort such as karaoke, piano bar and steel drum performances. Every aspect of our stay went smoothly and we always had a sense of comfort and relaxation. Shoutout to Kapreme, Sinclair, Omar, Shimera, Jason and Fitzroy and many others for the incredible service and hospitality. One love!!

Very relaxed and quiet. Amazing lanscaping and gorgeous tropical garden feel. Private "treehouse" huts were very comfortable. Food selection was fantastic at every meal. Beautiful beach with stunning water views. Beach grill and bar was very convenient. Staff was very positive, accomodating, friendly. Will definitely return!

My wife and I had been to Ocho Rios the year before and had an amazing time. This year we wanted to stay in Negril at the Sunset Resort. We flew out of Syracuse NY to Montego Bay. When we arrived customs immediately detained my wife and I in a small room. My wife was frightened! There were 3 other families being detained as well. Customs said our passports were not efficient enough to enter their country due “ripped” pages or any reason they could find to send back visitors. We were all deported back to Chicago! When I called Sunset Resort to let them know what happened and asked for a refund they refused and kept our money. There’s nothing we could do nor Expedia. We lost over $6k and the hassle was extreme. We will never go back to Jamaica nor stay at another Sunset Resort. We will never use Expedia again either. Very very poor service and they are robbing Americans.

Old… Bed bugs (I was covered in bites), Lizards inside the apartment (we had 3 of them), lunch very limited and same every day . Some of the staff were excellent like Jason and Cornelius but mainly rude and distant, just don’t care vibe . Beach bar was the worst with service . The only thing worth it and the best one is the BEACH and water that is so beautiful. But, would I come again ? Not a chance .

First off , We were assigned a room that was not ready so we had to wait for another room. When we got to the room we requested more hangers. It took 2 hours to get them, same with the request for water. Customer service is seriously lacking at this hotel. They made us feel that any request was an inconvenience! They were out of canned beer on two separate occasions & olives for dirty martinis The food was mediocre at best. Very disappointed!! We really enjoy Jamaica but our experience at The “Sunset at Palms” was not good. Last year our stay at another resort was truly phenomenal….but this resort is very rundown & lacks good hospitality & good customer service. Need to renovate & retrain in order for this guest to return

A unique property - with rooms in charming huts on stilts. Very green, relaxing. A superb beach, white sands, spectacular trees making for a great shade. Very friendly staff, excellent music. The only issue mosquitoes - unlike our first visit in 2022 - for some of us mosquitoes were unbearable (so get ready).

My wife and I had a wonderful week at Sunset at the Palms. The staff were incredibly attentive and anticipated our every need. The food was a perfect mix of traditional Jamaican dishes and favorites from around the world. The excursions offered some great chances to get off the resort for an adventure day. The YS Falls/Black River Tour, Snorkeling, and Catamaran to Rick's were all well worth the price. The property itself is a beautiful garden setting with a variety of flora and fauna to enjoy. It was a truly incredible tropical vacation, and we hope to go back someday.

We stayed here (March 2024) for 6 days then 4 days at Sandals Mobay. This place is far superior: accomodations are secluded in beautiful jungle setting - you are not surrounded by concrete buildings; the food is as good or better; just 200 guests vs 1000, no scrambling for shade spot on beach; overall more cozy and intimate with great staff. Will deinitely be back.

Had an amazing time at the sunset. Starting from the cottage we received, it had a HAMMOCK! We were so excited about it and utilized it to our best abilities. Learnt from some other visitors that they didn't have this in their cottage. The entire staff were so friendly and cheerful. We had a private access to the beach and the food/drinks included was amazing. The only issue we had was regarding shortage of light within the room. There are bed lamps but not bright enough. We will be back FOR SURE! Thanks again, guys!

The property is showing it's age. No evening activities or entertainment other than the piano bar which was the same each evening. The food while good, lacked variety and choice. The buffet was limited, the 2 "restaurants" that required reservations served the choices from the buffet but were simply plated and served to you. The grounds were beautiful, well kept, and clean. The pool was nice, but the swim up bar left a lot to be desired.The bar staff at the pool were annoyed to serve anyone at the swim up bar, at one point rolling his eyes when we ordered. We chose the beach and the service there was much better.

My husband and I went to Sunset at the Palms for our honeymoon. We don't enjoy the busy hustle & bustle of some of the larger resorts, so wanted to give Sunset a try. After going to Sunset, we won't go anywhere else. The staff is friendly, the gardens are beautiful and the beach is hands down the most beautiful blue and clear you have ever seen. Since there are only around 80 bungalows, you really do make friends with the other guests and staff. Many guests have been back3, 5 and even 12 times. I was afraid I wouldn't like that the beach is across the road, but they always have a staff member outside to stop cars and you walk across easily. Food and drinks all day at the beach. They have amazing excursions for thrill seekers and nature lovers both. The food is good and their entertainment is great. Piano Paul is a local who sings and plays piano and he was our favorite. This is hands down a special place to visit. We will definitely be back!

Quite and quaint. Very few options for indoor dining or lounging. The area is quite muggy - so we would go back to our room after dinner, as it was impossible to stay outdoors. other than that, the food was incredible Best food at all incredible I have ever had. The beach was nice and quiet and was cool due to shade and wind off the water, but the forest area was very muggy.

The property was beautiful, small enough that there is not a lot of walking involved, but big enough that there is lots of space between buildings and plenty of room on the beach to spread out. All of the workers were so nice, welcoming, and super friendly! Ms.Britney at the beach bar was wonderful and Cornelius at the lotus leaf restaurant was amazing, both of these employees deserve a special shout-out because of their talents and their congenial personalities. The food was delicious and for being a smaller resort without a large number of different restaurants, the selection of food at the buffet changed daily and there were so many options. The beach is across the road, however this is not something that should deter you from this resort. There is a crossing guard to assist you across the road and it is so close by that there is not much walking involved at all. (You may have to walk further to reach a beach when staying on one of the larger resorts)! The option for a beach bar and a grill on the beach side is very convenient and the service is excellent, you can order and have food delivered right to your beach chair should you choose. Cannot highly recommend this resort enough. We will be back!

Not bad for the price. AC was dripping on the floor in Rm 104.Very reliable taxi service back to the airport at 330am. QR code for liability waiver for water sports should be done upon checkin instead of dealing with wifi disconnection. Alcoholic drinks and coffee bar were superb. Dining was decent.

There is so much that we truly loved about this resort including the staff and the food! We did wish they had some activities for guests and louder music to allow some dancing. We also upgraded to a deluxe room but do not feel that we had deluxe accommodation.

Sunset at the Palms is a beautiful, serene, laid back resort with 85 rooms. Doesn't have the huge buffet or multiple pools and entertainment like the glitzy mega resorts. But the food is excellent, the staff amazing and the grounds are like a jungle. The most beautiful beach as well. Plenty of sun but also many trees and palapas for shade. The drivers in front are friendly and reliable, we went off resort three times and always felt safe. Dinner on the beach was exquisite!' Would love to be one of the many returning guests!

Sunset is very unique in the laid back atmosphere, which was perfect for our anniversary trip. The accommodations were superb, the food was great, and the beach, while across the street, is awesome. My only complaint is the lack of evening activities/entertainment. We are not big drinkers, so there is really nothing to do after dinner. No music, no activities, nothing. I would expect at least some piped in reggae, even if there is not a live band. And maybe cornhole, or trivia games. Just something besides getting drunk. Also, we had some trouble booking a snorkeling trip through the concierge. We ended up doing it ourselves through a vendor at an adjacent beach. But we had a great time, and will definitely consider returning.

The property is so beautiful! As well as cottages are a unique experience. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, helpful and polite. We loved the coffee bar, especially their hot chocolate. Things we wish we could know are mosquitos! It’s a huge problem, they are biting like crazy. Overpriced mosquito spray in the gift shop, I would love to bring my own. Also no hood in the bathroom is not convenient, as well as not properly working shower.

Looking for that someplace special? This is it. Perfect for those who seek a retreat from the ordinary. The vibe is an old world Caribbean feel mixed with deep toned Balinese woods. Beautiful shutters and carved wood furnishings. This is an all inclusive but without the sterile offerings of many large resorts. With only 85 cabins set in a lush flora and fauna surroundings, it is both peaceful and beautiful. The food offerings are exquisite and the service impeccable. Many of the staff have been here since it reopened 15 years ago. We were in cabin 104 (deluxe treehouse) which was perfectly set at the back of the grounds. The room itself was impeccable and private with a balcony off the double doors. A mini bar stocked nicely with water and beer. True to form at Sunset at the Palms (SATP), they are there to ensure a customized experience. The first day we were asked what we’d like in our room fridge and subsequently stocked with same. Every single detail has been thought of. The magnificent private beach is located across the street, but don’t let that deter - a crossing guard is there to ensure safety and it’s less of a walk than most large scale resorts. When you arrive at the beach, chair, towel and food service await for your lounging pleasure. If I had to some the experience up in a few words, it would be casual sophistication with a relaxing, service oriented motto. If you’re looking for an activity oriented, party vibe stay, you’re probably best suited elsewhere.

This is our 3rd time vacationing at sunset at the palms, Negril. Staff is very professional and friendly and go out of their way to make sure you’re happy. Never disappointed.

The property is lovely, many trees and flowering plants everywhere. Pleasant dining areas inside and out. Excellent food and very helpful and friendly staff. A calm and unhurried atmosphere. Beautiful pool and bar. We were a little disappointed with our room, it was quite small and dark. Not much space for clothing and only one hook in the entire room. However, it did not spoil our stay.

The property was very quiet. The staff was very few and slow at times. Pool was always cold and small. Not lively at all in the resort. The beach was very nice. Food choices were very limited, but it did taste good. Gym had a few equipment out or order. The rooms were very nice and cool, giving off a cabin feeling. This resort is for those looking just to relax. Not much music or entertainment.

Overall the stay was nice but as they say, first impressions are everything and it’s true. We arrived at approximately 3:30, the room wasn’t ready and we were hungry after traveling with nothing to eat since breakfast. They advertise that lunch is available until 5:00pm but we sat down to order from the menu and were told 2 items we wanted were out, salad and soup. The menu is mostly sandwiches and burgers which we found later to be the same day after day. There was no hot water to take a shower and the fixtures all need to be replaced, so bad the water shot outside the shower over the curtain and to the floor. The next morning I informed them about the shower and later that day was told it was resolved. We returned from the beach to take showers for dinner reservations and had same problems. I went down to the front to let them know, there was lack of concern but was followed back by someone to look at the problem. At that point I had to go to dinner with no shower after a day at the beach. They resolved the hot water issue that second night. The concierge service was the absolute worst I’ve ever experienced. They seem to have no tolerance for questions and to be honest know not enough to be able to answer questions. I pre-reserved all excursions and paid in advance but nothing was scheduled or researched ahead of time. Beach is great and the staff there is wonderful. The dinner services and staff is very good. Some of the bar staff could be more friendly.
