Inexpensive & conveniently located - a perfect base for the budget-minded traveller to explore Campania in general and Napoli in particular.
First, the bad news: there's just no way around the fact that the area around Stazione Napoli Centrale is pretty raffish, even by Neapolitan standards. Trash of all sorts, including the human variety, abounds. And the short walk from the train station to the hotel will give you a quick and rough introduction to the...ummm...interesting relationship between pedestrians and motor vehicles in Napoli's famously chaotic traffic. But just watch the locals, and follow their example, and you'll soon be threading your way confidently between the scooters and the smart cars just like they do. Somehow it all works.
Next, the good news: at the end of that short walk, you'll find a very neat, clean, well-kept hotel with a helpful but unobtrusive staff that is there for you 24/7, plus a more than adequate breakfast every morning. There's a good discount supermarket ("MD") just around the corner, with a nearby "Postemat" ATM that usually works. Plus one of the best Pizzerias in Naples ("Pizza da Gaetano") within easy walking distance.
As long as you're not expecting perfect luxury or great views from your window - if you just want a convenient and comfortable base for exploring Naples and Campania - don't hesitate. This is perfetto.
