It was me, my wife, and my 12 year old son who checked in at 3::15pm. The check in went smoothly, and the staff were ver kind and professional. Then, the power went out at 5:15 pm, and the outage was for the entire hotel. That meant our room was freezing, due to the rain and the weather outside. It is now 11:39pm and the power is still off. There has been no communication, no updates, nothing!!! My family had to sent in our car while it was running to get warm and to charge our phones. When then called the hotel manager by the name of Anna, and she was beyond unhelpful, and very unprofessional. She was not empathetic, and it’s terrible because her staff is much more professional than her. When we asked for a refund due to the unsatisfactory hotel stay, she stated that she could only give back $55.00. Parking alone was $22.00. She stated that we can go to Sand City to see if they had rooms available, and that it was not her fault that the weather caused the power to go out. She then refused to give me her name, but I believe that’s because she realized how unprofessional she was being. Anna then told me and my wife that we need to contact Expedia to get a refund since we are booked through Expedia, and because the hotel does not have our money. After the phone call with Anna, my wife and I were upset but more disappointed. We will not be coming back to this hotel, and will not recommend it to others either.
