Great Value of a City Hotel
I chose Hotel Ritter (Milan) for mine and my girlfriend's Valentine's weekend away. The location of the hotel is brilliant, on the map it is very close to a Metro station and there are a lot of restaurants in the immediate surrounding. Having stayed at Hotel Ritter, the location is even better than I thought. Castello Sforzesco, Parco Sempione, Chinatown, etc are all within 10 - 15 minutes walk away. Moscova metro station is about 2 minutes walk away from the hotel, which can be linked to all the other sightseeing locations. We stayed in a double room, which was sufficiently large and it had a balcony. The bathroom was exceptionally clean and tidy. During our stay, the outdoor temperature was quite cold and the heating in the room was good enough to keep us warm. The room didn't come with a kettle, which was disappointing to us as hot drinks would have been great to keep us warm after a cold day out sightseeing. The free WiFi in our room was virtually non-existence, this was the case in most spots we tried to connect to the internet. This made it slightly harder to plan our trip in Milan, but none-the-less, the room was really nice. We didn't encountered any noise that disturbed our stay. The breakfast was pretty good, the variety of food was on the slight side, however, breakfast buffet they offered is more than sufficient to give you the energy required for a long day out. The staff were friendly and spoke good English. Summary: Pro: Spacious Room, Great Location, Very Very Clean Bathroom Con: Poor WiFi signal (don't expect to check your email or check in online for your flight) Stayed February 2016, travelled as a couple

Ritter hotel should be rated as 1 star. Staff are not friendly especially the lady in the breakfast room. Room is so small and far from milano terminal thou its close to metro train. I wont recommend this hotel to anyone but if you are in strict budget or a backpacker then go for it.

Nice hotel close to the station
We had a spacious room with a separate entrance. It was spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable with good quality linen and the towels were large and thick. The breakfast was simple but more than adequate with cereals, yogurt, pastries, meats, cheeses, bacon and eggs. There was a coffee machine that produced ok coffee. The only complaint was there was no shampoo and the vending machines that sold beers and wine were not stocked regularly. I would be happy to stay here again.

Milan in four nights five days
Upon arriving at Hotel Ritter my partner and myself travelled from Venice via train to Milano centrale. Navigating the metro from Centrale to the hotel was relatively easy, only two stops. With bags it can be somewhat difficult. The train station Moscova is a short walk to the hotel only 1 - 2 minutes. Staff were accommodating and issued our key to the room which was very clean, presentable and quite large. Room contained ample storage and wardrobe space. The bathroom facilities were an advantage with a large bath and shower combination. With all bookings a continental breakfast is included served from 7:00 - 10:00am. Adequate tv news stations available with BBC, Aljazeera, NBC and local stations available. Bed was large and very comfortable for two people. Only down fall is the noise from other rooms. The walls are quite thin and you can hear other peoples conversations from the next room. There is no sound proving with rooms not being carpeted. Ear plugs may be necessary. Other than this the location is great with easy access to main tourist highlights and easy connection to all airports. Do not pay for a map, the hotel have handouts for all patrons.

Good Holiday experience
I had a happy 2 weeks at the Hotel, with a front room on level 4, that had balcony and stone/marble floor, a good sized bathroom. I booked myself on return from my touring elsewhere in Italy for 4 nights, and had a back room with balcony. This room on level 1. was carpeted.(I understand only levels 1, and 7 have carpeted rooms) The Bathroom had a problem as regards the toilet/wc. there was little room to sit down on the seat. Suggest as a good single room it should only be for people of 5ft.4ins maximum, otherwise the toilet will cause a problem. There is NO BAR IN THIS HOTEL., only the Breakfast Dining Room, and a lounge area. Some Bar necessities and sweets can be purchased from the AUTOMATIC DISPENSERS, only the ground floor and at each level. However I did have a nice BAR FRIDGE in the room which proved useful. I found the staff friendly and very helpful.

Nice Rooms, Noisy Hotel
The room we stayed in was nice and the bathroom was excellent. Breakfast was good too. Heater is only turned on during certain hours of the day and there is no free WiFi. The main problem with the hotel are the thin walls. People in neighboring rooms would talk loudly every night and make a lot of noise in the wee hours. It was very disturbing. Some of the front desk staff are nice while others are not so nice. When I complained about the noise to one of the staff at the reception, he was was very rude and tried to ask me to hurry up and get to the point. I would not stay here again mainly because of the noise at night.

Nice and simple hotel
The hotel is in good location, close to the center and to an underground station. The room was simple and clean and the staff were kind and helpful. It's a shame the you need to pay extra for an internet though there was good signal every where in the hotel.

Hotel is in a good part of milan, close to good cafe and bars for happy hour and the metro to get you around. Hotel facilities are lacking sadly. You hear everything in the surrounding rooms, basic hotel items such as an ironing board, iron, glasses for drinks are not supplied. Wifi was terrible and it cost money to be terrible. While most of the repection staff are helpful, one gentlemen in particular was rude and of no help when seeking information. Past weeks in Milan have been quite hot so Air Con would have been nice. We were told that it had been switched off as it is a cold time of the year. We melted. Loved Milan, loved the area, but wouldn't say stay at this hotel again.

A perfect spot in Milan
Four of us stayed in the Hotel Ritter in Milan for a week. We arrived by train and hopped on the metro at the central train station. We got off less than a block from the hotel. From this location you can see all the city sites either by foot or by catching the metro. We had no problems getting anywhere. The hotel staff gratuitously provided us with directions everytime we asked. Breakfast was quite adequate. The hallway carpet had spots that needed cleaning, but our rooms were spotless. Our ONLY complaint is that it tended to be noisy. The floors are marble and the walls are rather thin. We heard high-heal shoes, showers in the middle of the night and doors shutting. But, don't let this stop you from staying at this reasonably priced hotel. You won't be sorry!

This is a great hotel which is situated within close walking distance to the 'old-town' centre. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. However, when we arrived, the room was still being cleaned (this would have been around 3pm). But apart from that, everything was great.

Hotel Ritter
The hotel was easy to get to from the metro. We only stayed one night in Milan and the hotel served it's intended purpose. The rooms were clean and the bathrooms newly renovated. The building itself was old and the hallways we in dire need of renovating. The only complaint would be that the temperature of the shower was not constant. It would swing from hot to cold every 20 seconds which forced me to take cold showers rather than risk scolding myself with hot water. I would have complained if I was staying more than one night. And the hotel was one if the less expensive ones in Milan so it was a trade off.

Good value for money.
The only thing that really matters to me is cleanliness, I can't complain about The Ritter, The room was spotless, The brand new fitted Bathroom was a pleasant surprise, Only probem was that i'm quite a big fella, So the shower was a little tight, It was a struggle to turn around without banging the door open, But other than that the bathroom was excellent. I travelled with a friend, We booked 2 single rooms and i have to say my double bed was by far the most comfortable bed i've ever slept in, My friend had 3 single beds in his room, However he agreed that the beds were lovely. I didn't try the breakfast, I was told it was mainly cereal, fruit, bread and pastries. It's true to say that it could do with a sprucing up however it's not something i thought about. The hotel is only 2 stops on the metro from Cadorna Train station (the Malpensa Express to the Airport, journey time 30 min, 2 trains per hour, 22 euros for a return ticket) The reason for my visit to Milan was for the Tottenham v AC Milan game, If im honest i found Milan very dull, The weather didn't help and to be honest i wouldn't want to go back, However if i did, I would book into The Ritter again!

Excellent value
I have stayed at the Ritter several times in the past and it is unbeatable for location and convenience, at a great price. Local restaurants and shopping choices are great, transit connects excellent. Hotel staff is helpful and the breakfast bar very satisfactory. However, on my most recent stay, the lobby was being refurbished (clients were not forewarned) and WiFi access was very spotty. The lobby was finished and available on the last day of my stay so hopefully this problem will not reoccur. I certainly plan to stay at the Ritter for future travel to Milan.

Hotel Ritter in Milan
Very conveniently located for access on foot to town centre, to fashionable eating areas too (Brera) and to underground and main train stations ( Moskova, Garibaldi and Milano Centrale). The immediate area is in a restricted traffic zone and close to pedestrian areas also, which is very pleasant - good to walk, and not too noisy. Our room was cleaned beautifully every day - with regular changes of towels and soaps. The room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The hotel reception is staffed 24/7 and all the staff both here and in the dining area were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was a buffet, and very adequate with fruit juices, fruit, cereals, cheese, eggs, meats, a selection of bread and croissants and a variety of hot drinks. Table linen was fresh, and everything was tidy. We would recommend this hotel very highly for its location, helpful staff and general high standards of cleanliness and service.

parking disaster
Upon arrival at the hotel the person at the desk circled a spot on a city map and said there was free parking there, after circling the city for an hour we came back and he claimed he had never said there was free parking. The parking is actually indoor at a neighbouring hotel. Which is fine except that after we arrived at home we got 3 traffic violations while we were circling the city looking for parking. Our first room did not have AC and the second room was dingy. We spent 3 weeks inEurope and this was the worst place we stayed at. Find somewhere else to stay.

The property looks tired but is ok for the price. Aircon not working well and shower curtain too short. No shelf space and hooks in the bathroom. Parking around the corner costs €28 per day and this should be mentioned on the website.

Better alternatives close by...
I stayed for one night at Hotel Ritter upon arrival in Milano, then headed out of the city for a few days and back again. For a similar price I stayed at the Carlyle Brera, where the ammenities, service and overall quality was much higher than Hotel Ritter which presented me with: - Deficient Wifi - Broken shower However the overall appearance and service were ok, if not for a checkin which couldn't happen on time. I guess overall the hotel is ok, but there are plenty of better alternatives.

Can't fault this hotel. Basic facilities, but good. Friendly helpful staff. Room very clean and comfortable. When I go back to Milan I'll be trying to stay here again. Hotel Ritter - Stay somewhere else
The staff at the Ritter was, in general miserable to deal with, very unconcerned about the needs of the guest. The rooms were noisy (plumbing issues, street noise) and hot - the AC doesn't go on until the summer - we were there in the last week in May and the temps were warm. We couldn't close the windows because there was no air and we spent the night listening to the street activities and fending off mosquitoes. The TV had no English speaking channels but plenty of Arabic language ones. When asked they switched service providers and had some bugs to work out. At the end of our stay I decided that given the choice of sleeping in th the street on in the Ritter I'd take the street. The Ritter was the only negative thing that we experienced in our entire 2 week trip

Great one night stay in Milan
We stopped in Milan on our way to France from Germany and were pleased with the location of this hotel. It was within easy walking distance of the things we hoped to do in the one night we were there. We were able to find free street parking (spaces within white lines, not blue or yellow) much easier than we expected for a Friday night. The neighborhood was clean and safe, although a little noisy in the early morning hours as the locals headed home. Our balcony door was left open b/c the AC was turned off sometime in the evening, but we closed the door due to noise and were comfortable enough sleeping. (We may not have been if it was later in the summer.) The room was clean except for the curtain on the bathroom window and the shower curtain-they both needed to be cleaned. But the bed linens and towels were clean as were the floor, sink, toilet, tub. So if you are freaked out by any uncleanliness, you should be prepared to ask for new curtains, or to stay somewhere else. The breakfast was very nice and filling for both my husband and myself (we like different types of breakfast). Overall, for the price we would stay there again for 1-3 nights, but for a longer stay I would find somewhere a bit more clean/comfortable/quiet.

Me and my husband stayed 2 nights at the hotel (week-end). It`s a very "tired" hotel - it needs an upgrading - but it was clean and the walking distance to the main attractions was ok. Also to the city-tours buses and metro (Moscova). Nice restaurants and bars on Corso Garabaldi . Breakfast nice and sufficient - really liked the self-making cappucino/coffeemachine at the breakfastroom

Good location for budget hotel prices - do not expect much :)
First and foremost, the hotel does not respond to emails before travelling date. Travelled with my elderly mother and this was earlier informed to the hotel. IF travelling with Children or Parents or with heavy luggage, it is more convenient to take a Cab/ Taxi from Centrale Milano Train Station. It's only about Euros 7-8 per way. The Metro has lots of steps and not convenient for the elderly or parents with prams/ children. Checking-In: Checked-in at 1pm however our room was still not ready. Hotel staff asked us to leave our bags in the room while housekeeping would begin clean-up in awhile; poor security. Hotel and Staff: Hotel Staff were not friendly or of any assistance. Do not expect any help with maps or tours or whatsoever. Wifi available only on the Ground Floor; not in the rooms. Good point to note - a Vending machine for cold beverages available on every floor. The Room: The room was decent with a balcony overlooking the main street. Bathroom clean. Location: The Metro Moscova was nearby; a mere 2 minute walk. Good location from Central Milano. Restaurants: A good, authentic Japanese restaurant on the Ground level of the Hotel (not part of the hotel though). The main street is filled with quaint Italian cafes and restaurants - spoilt for choice. Breakfast was decent. A budget hotel, with no frills.
