Terrible experience
Don’t stay here, it’s not like photos, the service is terrible. I stayed with my family for 3 days. We know the hotel has not elevator, so for the time to make the check-out we asked for help to the staff to take our luggage because my father has a back surgery he wasn’t able to pick up the luggage and the person in charge told us he can’t and he did do anything. The bathroom was dirty, we chance rooms because the first one has an issue with the shower and the second room the gave us also the shower was in bad conditions. The breakfast it was bad, like old food from previous days. The only good it’s location but the hotel is terrible

There’s a metro station directly beside the hotel. However, there’s no elevator, we had to carry our baggage 3 floors. Bathroom is very small

Dateo excellent value budget stay
Hotel was clean, but in dire need of refurbishment. We had a giant punch hole on the bathroom door, the toilet seat was unstable to say the least, toilet cistern wasn't attached to the wall & you have to be carefull. TV unit didn't work. Aircon would switch off after couple of minutes. Location great, easy to reach variety of destinations by public transport or on foot. Breakfast very good with choices of cereals, toast, yoghurts, cheese, salami, preserves & croissants. Staff friendly and helpful all speaking English. Added bonus tables on balcony in inner courtyard creating pleasant atmosphere

Close to public transport (train and bus services). Great proximity to supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and wine bars in the Dateo area. About a 30 minute walk to Il Duomo, Teatro alla Scala and Milano Centrale railway station. Rooms, inclusive of shower, are small however sufficient for a city stay. Bed is comfortable. Air-conditioning and Wi-Fi are functional. The addition of a mini fridge would be beneficial, especially during the summer months. Staff are friendly and helpful.

I would never stay at this place again, could not sleep at first night, guest next room had sex and banged wall for long time , no fridge in the room, too small shower I am very skinny and could not fit. They did not provided clean towels

Fab value for money
The hotel room was basic and the shower was a bit small, but for the price it is such good value for money. The staff at the desk are welcoming and friendly and checking in/checking out was super easy. There is a television and air con, towels were provided. The hotel room itself was spotless and smelt clean as we entered. The location is ideal, it is not too far of a walk from Milan City Centre, and is also not far at all from the bus and train station- there is even a bus stop around a 5 minute walk away that takes you directly to the stations. The hotel was a bit noisy in the night, but that can't really be helped.

Ridiculous experience.
Hotel Dateo was an awful experience because the room and bathroom were both extremely unclean when we arrived at the hotel. The lack of a lift and assigning two seniors the topmost floor was just sad. I was also told that I had to pay for the breakfast when my hotels account showed it was already included. The breakfast wasn’t anything special either.

Not a good experience. Literally garbage, dust and supplies just sitting outside my door. No elevator. Hair dryer worked for about 15 seconds at a time. Toilet seat kept coming off. No real blanket, just a thin sheet and barely a sheet between myself and the mattress. AC took hours to actually make the room cool. Wifi stopped working after midnight... Luckily I was only staying here for 1 night or I would have absolutely booked somewhere else.

Be careful to what you booked as you wont get what you requested. We requested 2 triple rooms and they gave us 2 double bed rooms. I had to complain to manager who only offer to change one room to two single beds. Bathrooms really small. If you are a medium or large person then you will struggle to get in shower tray. Our shower plug was blocked and visitors next door was not closing.

Lovely hotel, in a great location close to bus and tram stops that take you basically anywhere you need to go. Felt very welcome and safe due to the staff! They always made sure we felt comfortable and if we needed anything they where more than happy to help! The room was basic and the breakfast was enough to fill you up but it is what you pay for as it is a budget hotel! Had a lovely stay would come back again !

It was a great, cheap hotel for one night before we went to the airport. The shower/bathroom was large and the bed was comfy. Kind staff greeted us and spoke good English.

Good location and value for price
We got an 'economy' room meaning a bit cheaper and in the basement. The room was a bit outdated and cleanliness was not a strong point but the room was functional had good amenities and connected to the back garden. Very nice staff and a nice little breakfast was included in the price. The main areas are updated and spotless making us assume that the standard rooms were a bit more updated and clean. Very easy access by public transport.

2 star hotel for sure
Hotel Dateo was OK because we stayed for just one night in Milan. Bought a double room, which was very small. The shower was also incredibly small, and breakfast was really bad! It was all self service, with a choice of what looked like easy single slices of cheese and cheap processed meat, you had typical cereals and orange juice aswell. The staff on the other hand were very nice, helped us with any queries. It's located about 20 minutes from the central station we got a taxi which cost €8. To walk into the main central area like the cathedral it took about another 25 minutes. Overall it was just ok, wouldn't recommend staying for more then a couple days!

Hotel was as expected for the price; an old, dark basement room with hard beds which was in desperate need of refurbishment. However, we had clean sheets and towels, bathroom was very clean with a really powerful hot shower, Wi-Fi was excellent and the centre of Milan was around 25 mins away walking. So the vital things were good enough but the hotel itself was very basic. Bit odd that the rooms only seemed to have ONE key so we had to give in our key every day before we left so the staff could make our beds and replace towels and toilet roll etc. Seems unprofessional! But on the whole we enjoyed Milan. Hotel was a 10 euro taxi to Milan Centrale and Milan Linate Airport.

Single twin bed for one is a tight fit. Great for leaving your things and traveling as it is inexpensive, however, breakfast is not anything that you can't purchase at the local cafe's.
