It is an excellent hotel with vert attentive guest services or experience team. Bassil and Roshan were amazing and very helpful. Spa were decent and needs more improvement. Food options and restaurants were good. Wifi needs to be speed and have a coverage across the resorts. Overall, happy with the stay. Thank you One and only team

Things to take into consideration before booking.
Food is terrible with the expedition of breakfast. If you plan on lounging by the pool; prepare to pay a ridiculous expensive minimum consumption to use a bed. I was supposed to have a butler who never ever showed up. Concierge is rude and not helpful.

Luxurious stay in a corner of heaven
Hotel is in very good condition Super breakfast buffet Great Beach options , sides lokking over different type of water. Cleanlineass of the facilities, room and beach is impeccable. Staff is realy helpful. Food options beyond bfast is a but repetitive. Location requires travel when visiting other parts of the island

Hotel is newly renovated
The hotel is a comfortable and beautiful property. Everything is very new and sparkles. The live band after dinner was a nice touch and the cafe off of the main lobby was an added bonus. All of the staff was very help and pleasant.

Great hotel for young families
Beautiful hotel . Great for families with small children. Fantastic buffet and breakfast. Amazing service. Loved The Point even though the food could have been better. Loved the early evening Dj with the fire pits. Shame you couldn’t eat there after 6-30pm. Perfect place for a bbq . Tried the Japanese and sadly it wasn’t great . We had to send the vegetables back . Fantastic gym tennis courts spa etc. Just felt it was lacking in something for our age group.

Beautiful hotel with a slip-up on departure
Excellent service, but my pre-arranged collection taxi was not allowed to enter the grounds so my luggage and I were transported to the gate on a buggy! a poor end to a great stay.

Restaurants not up to standard
This is a lovely hotel on a really lovely beach. The rooms are well designed and laid out and hotel facilities are as you would expect from a five star hotel. The spa is especially good. The main problem with this hotel is the restaurants. Admittedly we stayed out of season, but on the three nights that we were there the dining options were very limited. The first night we ate at Prime - this was a compete catastrophe - it took them three attempts to cook a rare steak. You would expect any restaurant that charges over sixty pounds for a steak to get this right - it spoilt the evening completely. The second night it was buffet only - this was very poor for a five star hotel. On the third night the Indian restaurant was open (first time since we arrived) - this was excellent food, so it was a real pity that it only opened a couple of times a week.

Best stay that I have had in Mauritius thus far.
This is the most idyllically suituated hotel on the North East coast of Mauritius and boasts a proud heritage in its many years of existence. Many of the guests are repeat visitors some as many as over the past 30 years and all are pleased to be here. The Food was above average although the buffet menue could do with some creativity and overhaul to more modern lines. Drinks are OK but the entertainent and service is outstanding. The hotel is a bit tired in terms of decor and a serious upgrade and renovation is necessary to get it to match its location. Having a lagoon and a beach means that watersports are the best. The resident band is outstanding and world class and they were the highlight for us of the trip.

Great personal touches that are outstanding

Absolute Disaster 0 star resort!!!
I have stayed in resorts all over the world and this was absolutely the worst resort and experience of my life. The staff went out of their way to completely sabotage or holiday! They could not get anything right from dinner reservations to messing up excursions! They sent us 2 hours across the island when we got to destination the hotel had messed up the timing and our reservation was canceled. So we had another 2 hour ride back for nothing and they still made us pay for the transport which was not cheap!? The staff in particular the management was not helpful at all. The staff would make mistakes and they would try to blame the guests for their own incompetence! They were rude, aggressive and disrespectful! First time ever I was glad the holiday was over!!! And almost forgot the air conditioning doesn't work and the beer is warm all the time!!! 0 Stars!!!

The hotel was wonderful and the staff attentive, warm and friendly and always smiling. The welcome and farewell drinks were a nice touch, as well as the specifically prepared welcome and farewell dinner menus. The environment was extremely relaxing. The food was fantastic and there was a wide choice of dishes. The checking in and checking out processes were smooth. The room was very comfortable, light and airy and clean. The complimentary gifts were a nice surprise. Would definitely recommend this hotel and I am looking forward to my next visit!

Almost relieved to find this hotel is closing.
Dreadfully disappointing. Understand that this hotel is closing under the guise of One & Only which perhaps explains the poor service, aggressive up-selling of extras, total lack of management visability, poorly maintained beach, rental bikes in awful condition etc A large sign in the room says "complimentary soft drinks in mini bar". After the first day we get a bill for circa £75 which included a half bottle of wine we did not drink, bottled water (not actually free) and some fruit juices (not actually free).When we complained we were told the bottle of warm water (too big to fit in mini bar) was free, coke and sprite ! In addition at dinner we asked for but were refused a jug of iced water " it is our policy to charge for water at meal times". A small bottle of water costs £4.50 and in addition the staff make sure that they pour it as quickly as possible so that you have to buy another, and another. They also did this with wine which when you have paid £80 for a bottle is unacceptable. To eat anywhere other than the buffet restaurant we were told was a supplement of 20 euros. Guess what - its actually an allowance of 20 euros which gets you about half a starter. We asked to see a manager on several occasions and never saw anyone of any seniority.No doubt they will be falling over themselves to reply to this review.TOO LATE! One & Only you should be ashamed to allow this to happen under your watch!

We are very pleased to offer complimentary soft drinks and local water in the rooms while Evian, Perrier water as well as juices are clearly priced on our mini bar menu. As per other hotel on the island, we are offering half Board in our main restaurant and you received a credit of 20Euros per person to eat in Prime and in the Indian Pavilion. We conduct regular pricing comparison with our competitors and our beverage prices are in line with other 5* luxury resort on the island. Best regards,

Almost excellent with just a few flaws
This is a top-class establishment, where attention to detail is what they're about. They offer an extremely personalised service and make you feel very welcome and special. Unfortunately there were quite a few small things that didn't go right on our trip (such as waiting for 45 minutes for our luggage to be delivered to our room after we'd just had an overnight flight from London, and having to ask a number of times for water to be refilled in our room), however, the overall impression is extremely positive. Their cocktails are superb, unlike the food which we really found to be sub-par. On the positive side, the setting is wonderful, the seclusion is great, the watersports are fine and the overall environment is fabulous. An excellent pool and wonderful service throughout. Another quick gripe is about the kids club, which really wasn't up to much and we ended up not having our kids go in there at all.

Amazing hotel for families
This was our first holiday with our 4 month old baby and we couldn't be more thrilled by the warm welcome and help we received from the staff throughout the stay! We had an amazing time and would definitely go back!

Good hotel service, but the hotel itself is too old, can't compare with the new hotels. Disappointed about the "one and only" name for this hotel. Shouldn't be charged at this high price, not worth it!

Wonderful hotel!
Very nice hospitality, and the food(especially breakfast) was good, too. I stayed here for my honeymoon, and we enjoyed staying here a lot.
