Amazing underwater world right at the house reef. Beautiful island with white sand and turquoise water. Bed wasn’t very comfortable.

Incredible location, settings, amenities and staff. Loved the charm of my beach villa, surrounded by lush landscaping and just steps from the water, and immensely enjoyed the luxury of the water villa. So glad I decided to upgrade. The sea life right under it was amazing! Baby blacktip sharks, rays, large crabs and so many fish were daily visitors, loved the ability to snorkel right off my steps. The snorkeling on the outer reef of the island was the best snorkeling in the world for me, and I’ve snorkeled Great Barrier Reef, all Hawaiian Islands and numerous Caribbean Islands... The water was very clear, and I’ve never seeing so much Sea life I’m one place... Loced the excursions as well, one of my highlights was snorkeling above 4 enormous mantas. Theiy were so graceful! The food at the resort was excellent, buffet style, and I was pleasantly surprised at a huge selection, specially at lunch and dinner. The island is small, you can walk around its perimeter in less than 10 minutes. I’m already missing my sunrise walks. Can’t wait to return!

Nice resort with beautiful beaches but the coral sand is very sharp on the feet.Otherwise nice experience highly recommended

25th Wedding Anniversary.
We booked this holiday last minute for our 25th Wedding Anniversary and really did not know what to expect. Wow, it was just beautiful. Flying over in the Sea Plane looking at the Maldives from the air, then getting to our stunning island, Vakarufalhi. The Staff were very friendly and smiley and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, with a very varied selection of meat, fish, veg and fresh fruit. It seemed like there was very few people on the island as it was so quiet and peaceful, and only realised when going to the restaurant how people were there. We booked a romantic meal on the beach, the food and atmosphere were amazing. Our only critism would be that if you are arriving at the island at about 2ish, you are rushed to get food and after a long flight and not knowing what to expect, we just wanted to rest for a while, had we been told that it was a buffet on arrival, we could have got something and taken it to our room. When leaving the island in the afternoon, lunch is not included in the all inclusive, you have to pay for any food after 12. This is just a minor point, and did not affect our holiday in the slightest are are looking forward to booking Vaku for next year. It was just what we needed. The island has a wonderful reef, with excellent snorkelling and extra activities, paddle boarding, diving, sailing, canoeing and excursions.

Unbelievable
Our honeymoon was everything we hoped for and more! Myra, guest relations, was friendly and very accommodating. The staff were super friendly and everything was superb. Over the water villa was huge and luxurious. Food was delicious and always fresh.

House reef was beautiful and the marine life was plentiful and colorful despite the bleached corals (worldwide occurrence and not specific to this location). The staff were amazing and very friendly. The water villa was very spacious, comfortable and kept very clean. It always felt like we were alone on the island despite the resort being fully booked the entire week we were there.The attached dive shop was excellent and provided exceptional service. The food was good. Will definitely reccomend and return to this beautiful piece of paradise

Amazing hotel. Very small so if you are looking for more sctivites may not be for you. Excursions are done daily but you have to sign up for them and they need x amount of people to sign before they actualky do it. We went bere to relax so no exclurions needed. Service is amazing and food was great. We did all inclusive and food and drinks were good. Note food and drinks are during specific times. Drinks are 10am-11pm and the mini bar is not included. Food is also during specific times. Spa was okay kind of generic. We also did the romantic dinner on the beach with lobster dinner and the food was amazing. Highly recommend this resort.

Sandy, white and pristine beaches are an ideal!
I have dreamed of a holiday in the Maldives for many years. As an experienced scuba diver, this destination has been on my bucket list for a long time. A friend recommended Vakarufalhi Island Resort and I was not disappointed. I was treated like a princess by all staff, bar one and I’ll get to that later! My partner and I stayed at the resort for 10 days over Christmas. The wait staff looked after us like royalty at the ‘Water Bungalow Restaurant’. The bar staff had drinks ready for us, on the bar, as we walked in the door. The food was outstanding. I have never seen, nor tasted so many different cuisines. The chefs were brilliant! It was wonderful to feel the sand between my toes in the bar, the lounge and reception areas. The feast at Xmas was spectacular, particularly all the ice sculptures created in the dessert buffet room. Yes, it was an entire room of puddings and cakes. I have never witnessed such a spectacle. The extra $ for the delicious dinner was definitely worth it!

Truly Paradise
There are no words to describe this resort, no pictures to do the scenery justice and not enough thanks can be given to the staff that make every day hour and minute and absolute perfect experience. Unless we return to this exact spot, I do not believe we’ll ever find another place comparable to this one If you have a chance, please please please take the opportunity to visit Vakarufahli...you will not be sorry!!

Large and spacious water villa. We did not like that you had to pay for the Nespresso in our room when it was an all-inclusive villa. The TV could use an update with better channels and better quality images.

1st class hotel friendly staff wonderful spa
Water villas are lovely and spacious and beautiful fitted, food is excellent quality, island is stunningly beautiful, staff cannot do enough to look after you it is all very friendly and personal , spa amazing and reasonable prices compared to others I’ve been to , therapist Novi amazing I would highly recommend a few treatments so relaxing

Superb stay
We had a superb stay at Vakarufalhi and can warmly recommend it! The food was extraordinary and the chef did a fabulous job. All staff was super friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean and cosy. Only slight minus was the tiny gym, however no other guests seemed to be interested in working out so it was not a problem for us:) We stayed in a water villa and enjoyed it but the beach villas seemed to be nice as well with own access to beach and private beach chairs/ umbrella.

Staff are nice and helpful. Water villa are clean and comfortable. Beautiful house reefs, Reef shark, Ray, fish. The bad side is weak in room wifi. Overall, great place to stay.

nice staff, great stay in general
almost everything was great from reception till the sad farewell, its a very nice small island we took the water villa which had very clear water around it where you can enjoy and practice snorkeling with few coral there and there, filled with baby sharks and can be spotted many times during the stay. the food was great.

Amazing resort and really nice staff
What a gem of a resort with a fantastic reef, great staff and superb food. The accommodation over the water is the best and I would recommend staying in one of them and enjoying going down from the terrace straight into the warm sea. You can also enjoy the expeditions and swim with turtles, manta rays and whale sharks. The all inclusive is really good.

Excellent resort in paradise
The resort is in a very good condition. Staff is friendly and helpful. The surrounding nature is like paradise. Negative was the comfort of beds, that could be improved given the price of rooms. Due to the small size of island there is only one restaurant available, still the bar offers food as well.

Nice resort. People are great. Very relaxing.
Only complaint I have is that they are billed as having wifi. They do, but in the room we were in it was intermittent at best despite us calling 3 times to get them to resolve the issue.....which they never did.

Gem in Ari Atol!
My husband and I spent 7 day at Vakaru beginning of March 2017 to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. At arrival we were offered a free upgrade to honey moon villa which we really appreciated. The room was generous size, comfortable and cleaned. Food was amazing with lots of options to choose from and very high quality. The island is beautiful surrounded by white sand and crystal clear waters full of colourful fish to admire. We really hope to be able to go back next year with our children. Staff was alway polite, approachable and eager to help.

fabulous location, '5*' all-inclusive a stretch.
Great location, wonderful facilities, fantastic food, and that beach/sea........ Wow! Staff were very friendly and helpful, and did all they could for you. I'm not sure I'd call it 5 star all-inclusive though..... The all-inclusive package has a good, but limited drinks menu (coffee is free, but a cappuccino is chargeable!?), food was only included at meal times (any snacks chargeable!), no slippers/bathrobes in rooms, non-motorised watersports was extra (canoe, windsurfers), boat trips were expensive for a family (US$60 adult ; US$30 child) especially if you didn't see your targeted sea species (which of course understandably cannot be guaranteed), trips were cancelled if less than 6 people were booked on it which if you stay only a few days means you may not get a second chance. Anything served to you on the beach (even those things included in your all-inclusive package) was chargeable..... so you went and got your own drinks!! These were the things I'd normally expect from a 5 star all-inclusive package. All that said, I'd go back tomorrow!

Great place, 30 min sea plane flight from Male which is nice, wonderful snorkeling although I would recommend to have more activities/trips free of charge in these prices. Great Italian chef makes large verity of food, not all for European taste but I loved most.

Our stay was amazing! This resort is amazing.. highly recommend it to everyone. We did the all inclusive option and the bartender was great, and the entire staff was very friendly. One bad thing was that espresso is not included in the all inclusive deal. You can also rent snorkeling equipment so dont buy it at the airport... everything is provided to you at the resort!

This resort is made for those who want to relax
Lovely location, very remote. The Spa, Restaurant/Food, Beach, Service are good. We enjoyed the excursions too. The night entertainment needs improvement. But very clean location with lovely island snorkeling spots. The Resort needs to enforce a Non-Smoking ZONE. This was BAD. There should at least be a Non-Smoking restriction during meal service times. Limited to a certain area away from the dinning area. This was a huge distraction. Non-smokers don't want to smell or see that while we are eating. There should be NO smoking around or near the dinning area during meal service times. For this reason I will never go back to the resort. It ruined some of our meals.

Had an awesome stay for 3 nights. Everything was coordinated on the time to be picked up from the sea plane to departure. Upon arrival, we were given ice cream and a thorough explanation of the facilities and area. We also met the General Manager in the evening. Room was cleaned everyday. All staff were friendly and accommodating. There was a wide selection of food as it is buffet style. It was different everyday. Would definitely suggest to opt for the all inclusive to have drinks included as the bill could add up for the entire duration stay. Snorkel equipment was offered for free. They have the best coral reefs. Breathtaking clear water and lots of fish. Stayed at the water villa and was surprised on how spacious the room was. Big bathroom and bedroom. Balcony had a day bed to relax and enjoy the sun. Was definitely paradise.
