"The Lodge is exactly what you expect as you pull up. The Staff were extremely accommodating giving us tips and suggestions. The rooms lol lol have NO TV so you have to talk with each other. We liked the Lodge."

"Beautiful setting with fantastic space in front to sit, relax, read et al. My room was as pictured in the booking information and in keeping with a historic facility. Parking is limited if there are other events going on there but they are fine with parking along the entrance/exit streets. Breakfast setting is beautiful; food was average. No substitutions rule was off-putting. I didn't get the feeling that people working there were very happy but they did the work well. Entertainment settings are within and beside the front lobby which can be loud and somewhat uncomfortable when coming and going when not part of the events. I'd recommend requesting a room towards the ends of the building to avoid the events sounds. Also recommend asking for room to back of building to avoid bright front lights shining in the room and the sounds of people arriving. Fantastic to have spa downstairs and nice bistro like restaurant as well. Overall, I'm glad I chose this facility."

"It's all about location. It's best to be in the mountains at sunrise and sunset. They have improved a few rooms. The beds are comfortable and pillows too. Place is clean and maintained. The grounds are very nice but.....I guess the park department doesn't care about the view. Don't ask for a room with a view because they only have 2 or 3. They trees have grown so much they have no view of the valley. Total shame. The price is so much better from Expedia.....the park service site wants more than double the price. I'll never go thru the park department again."

"Some would say outdated, I say retro! What a pleasant stay we had. Staff was courteous, friendly and definitely wanted to make sure our stay was comfortable. Reasonably priced and convenient for our needs. Would definitely stay again."

"The building and the rooms were nice- soft towels, quality shower products. Its a boutique hotel with some antique flair. We had 2 stays separated by a few days where we saw some family. We stayed in suites so we would have some kitchen access. Though there was a microwave, they had no plates or mugs that could safely be used- there were only glass plates and drinking glasses. The chairs in the rooms were not very comfy. But most surprising was that we only saw any staff the first day, before we received the room codes. There is no elevator and so we had to carry our bags up and down 1-2 flights of steep stairs- no so easy for us retirees. That first day we had some assistance as the innkeepers son happened to be around."
