View of the harbour was exactly as shown, the property was very clean, well maintained the room was really nice. Location was excellent couldn’t have asked for a better stay we’ll definitely be back.

This is a beautiful Inn with very comfortable beds. The room offers coffee and a small fridge It would be better if the restaurant at Inn was still in operation or they offered Continental breakfast. The area does offer lots of options for breakfast though as everything is in walking distance. We loved our weekend stay.

Clean and quiet with a view of the harbour from your deck. Some ask for little more. There was also strong free wifi and tv to watch for those as well. Great shower as well. Enjoyed.

We stayed in a room with a veranda in the annex building - it was fantastic. Extremely clean and well-equipped. The staff was very nice and willing to help with whatever we needed. There are restaurants right next door and down the street. We've been to Nova Scotia three times and this is the first time we stayed at the Rum Runner - it definitely will be a part of our next trip.

The owner/manager lives on the premises. He was very friendly and also offered some excellent advice on how to go about taking in the sights on the southern shore. Much appreciated!

Room had a marvelous view of the working fishing harbor, both from our bedroom and from the enclosed porch. Tim was a font of knowledge and recommended many places, each of which was great. Food was varied and well prepared. Walking the harbor, and spending time in the museum was a delight.

Old building but so clean!
For being an older building, our state was very comfortable. The room was impeccably clean. The staff was friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed our stay.

So many great things to say about this property and community! Beautiful room, fully stocked with plates and cooking dishes. Many restaurants and the harbour just out the front door. We visited all over the East Coast and this was definitely our favourite stop!

We like that they have a policy for quiet because that’s what we like. Parking was a challenge when we arrived, metered parking between 10am - 5 pm only. Worked for us. The only spot available was the lower road, but still ok. Close to the scenic docks. We arrived and McKenzie(sic) was the very pleasant front desk host. We got our key and went to room 10 The room is a good size, the washroom just enough. For one person at a time, containing a corner stand-alone shower, what was unique is the LED mirror. We did notice no switch to turn the fan on. Perhaps it is only ventilation. Room was clean bed a bit soft and the headboard too low. Ouch kept banging my head when I tried to sit up. Wrong headboard for that bed. Should be higher. Dangerous how low it is. Someone is going to get a concussion one day. Everything was good overall for the one night we stayed. BtW the floor slants toward the balcony, makes me feel like I am in a Batman episode from the 60s. Shower was nice. Walk around town was good. And Mackenzie’s recommendation for The Salt Shaker was perfect. The service and food was perfect. The lobster roll humongous and delish. Seafood chowder. Was the best we’ve ever had.

Excellent location looking over the harbor. CLose to many restaurants. In the heart of downtown. Some noise from adjacent balcony unit. Loud talking noise late into the night from adjacent buildings balcony not controlled by Hotel. Just kept AC unit on to mask.
