Charming Residenza in the historic centre
Charming Residenza right in the historic centre of Lucca, about 15 minutes from Anfiteatro. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we had an adorable balcony where we breakfasted al fresco each morning. Alessandra was delightful. She speaks excellent English and was efficient and helpful. I would definitely stay here again.

Good standard in Lucca
Good room with private bathroom including bath. Only thing that would help is access to a lounge / communal area and access to garden.

Dear Stephen Annison, first of all, we are not an hotel but a simple guesthouse and you haven't pay much money like an hotel. For the price you have payed, it was too much that you had fridge and air conditioner in your room and also free parking too, next time, pay much more and take the superior room, or you can go in a 4 stars hotel and pay much more for the hotel. It is not good to write anonymous review, dear Stephen Annison.

Nice little B and B good location friendly staff Breakfast could be better same cake on the table for 4 days and uncovered found a metal stud in the breakfast granola was very lucky not to damage my teeth apart from that a pleasant experience

Well-placed comfortable B&B.
Lucca has a welcoming, easy atmosphere. Lovely old town within the amazing wall, everywhere within a walk, and worth walking the wall itself. Excellent restaurants around (rather than in) anfiteatro. No street parking for visitors, but the hotel has a great parking arrangement with nearby (3 mins) underground car park (put your card ON the machine, not IN it).

Spacious and comfy room
Alessandra was extraordinarily accommodating. She emailed in advance to ask about our arrival time and need for parking. When we arrived, she provided great assistance with parking our car (included in price) nearby and getting our luggage back and forth from the parking garage. The bedroom and bathroom were the most spacious that we had during our entire 3-week stay in Italy (at hotels in the $70-80 range).

Lucca was a pleasant surprise
Lucca was a pleasant surprise. Take in the Puccini Concerts that go on every evening for E20....much better that Snoop Dog who was also on that night (can't beleive I just said that...must be getting old!) The B&B is a great central location in a beautiful old building with parking in a garage opposite. Great value for money. Get yourself to Pisa early and buy a ticket for the leaning tower.

Beautiful historic residence
We loved staying here! The location, about a 20 minute walk from the station, is near most of the attractions of this marvelous city. The room was large and the bed very comfortable. The staff was very helpful. The historic building has a lot of charm . We highly recommend this hotel.

Short break in Lucca
Three of us shared a triple room. The B&B is very conveniently located for getting in to town and the lady running it was extremely pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was a wonderful cake fest (with a bit of cheese and ham thrown in for good measure!).

Good spot in Lucca
The breakfast here is very enjoyable. The location is good. Only complaint is that a previous guest must have spilled something (could have been vomit) on the bedroom wall and it wasn't cleaned off, and the floor needed mopping. Bed was comfortable.

Faultless, Beautiful Stay in Lucca
This is a truly wonderful B&B with classic original features and romantic bedrooms with tiled floors and beamed ceilings. Very helpful and pleasant staff who made us feel very welcomed. Great location within city walls of Lucca and with added bonus of bookable secure parking in a garage (contact hotel direct as not enough spaces for every room). A very memorable stay in a very special place.

Good stay, a little expensive for what you get
We wanted to stay inside of the city and we did with this bed and breakfast. It was ok but I would probably look for another option in the future. The staff at breakfast and at the desk were great. The airconditioning was so so and went off during the night and we fried. And, they didnt seem too have a hard and fast solution for us. The rooms were ok, the breakfast was ok. There are not a lot of good and cheap options in Lucca so this was ok but I was expecting a lot more.

Easy and convenient
We only had 1 day to see Lucca and this inn made it very easy. The location was great--just around the corner from one of our best meals in Italy -- and the staff was very attentive. We stayed in the small suite off the back courtyard and could walk out our door to their beautiful breakfast. Loved this place!

Friendly B&B Very well situated
Residenza Santa Chiara, is well located for accessing on foot the whole of the city within the ramparts. As one would expect in an old city like Lucca this is not a modern building and as a B&B rather than a hotel, does not have a lift to its two floors. The double room we had on the second floor was a good size with a large en suite bathroom. It had windows on two sides; one set overlooking the gardens of the Villa Bottini. Across the Via Santa Chiara from the Residenza was the lock up garage for three cars. This was a great boon, not only because it was included in the cost of the stay but because parking in the confines of the old city is difficult and is charged. After we had made our booking some weeks before our stay, we had received a pleasant welcoming e-mail from Signora Cipriano asking if we needed a parking space. As we did, we were able to reserve one of the limited number of spaces. If you need one, contact her by e-mail to book. Our welcome was very friendly and everyone was very helpful and obliging. Two points of info:- 1 to get to Via Santa Chiara (which is a one way street) by car you need to enter the city via the Porta Elisa on the eastern side of the city. You cannot get to it from any of the other entrances. 2 there is a tourist tax payable in cash when checking out. Not a lot (we paid 9€ total for 2 for 5 nights) but it would have been nice to have known beforehand. Hotels.com please note! We would certainly consider staying there again.

Lovely lodge inside the Lucca walls
A small family run B&B/hotel in a terrific area for sightseeing. They have parking available which is a huge bonus. Breakfast and service are excellent. The only slight gripes are: it is slightly rustic (although this does add to its charm), and it is on the periphery road that is used quite a lot until late evening. In general however- recommended!

Lucca was enhanced for stopping at this little jewel. Nice parking. Fair breakfast. Pretty room. Excellent and peaceful location: Out of the fray. Internet without falts. Jessica welcomed me perfectly. Fania took good care of the rest.

Close to all sights. Great value for the money.
Easy to find inside the city walls. Can walk to all sights in Lucca. Had parking (which is HUGE!). Breakfast was good, not outstanding. Staff helped us find train schedule to La Spezia and ferry schedule to Cinque Terra (only problem was we could not find the ferry!). Large room! Only negative was, there is no elevator and we were on the second floor and had to carry luggage. Staff offered some help.

The staff are very helpfull and pleasant. The room was large, well furnished and quiet. Loved the location inside of Lucca's walls, where it was a short walk to all the sights and very close by to great dining. Great value and we will stay there again on our next visit. Genuine Italian comfort!

Lucca Overnight
The Santa Chiara is a cute little property perfectly located inside the walls of Lucca. We had a two week apartment rental on the Mediterranean coast but went into Lucca for two days. We needed a one night stay at a comfortable place and found it. The staff was very nice and had great suggestions for the two dinners we ate in Lucca.

Must say we were surprised with that place, very positively surprised! Especially after few nights in higher rated hotel in Florence (which was not that nice at all). We didn't really expect too much from the B&B in Lucca. But as said at the start the first impression was good. Stuff nice and helpful, room clean and nicely decorated, big clean bathroom. And the breakfast itself delicious, there was plenty to choose from, all fresh and really liked those home-made cakes :)

SKoselug B&B med stort og fint rom, og med alt vi hadde behov for. God seng. Litt ujevn varme i dusj. Vi ble negativt overrasket over at det ikke er frokost på stedet, og at det ikke inkludert i prisen (B&B!?)

Carissima signora, le consigliamo infatti l’albergo la prossima volta, a relative tariffe, l’improvvisazione è stata sicuramente la sua nel prenotare soltanto per una tariffa allettante e non per i servizi di cui necessitava,come la camera fumatori con rilevatori di fumo, visto che avete fumato nella stanza nonostante i divieti di legge, gestiamo l’attivita da 15 anni e sicuramente siamo tutto fuorché improvvisati, le consiglio per future prenotazioni, di leggere bene cosa va a prenotare e di non pretendere l’impossibile, come un’accoglienza 24 ore su 24, arrivando anche fuori orario di check in , da un semplice affittacamere. Sarebbe stato apprezzabile esprimere il suo dissenso direttamente in struttura, anziché fare sorrisini di circostanza salvo poi pugnalare alle spalle.

Buongiorno Pietro, infatti non essendo un hotel, non abbiamo obbligo di avere reception 24 ore su 24, anche visto il costo molto inferiore che si paga rispetto a ciò che si paga in hotel. Le consiglio di informarsi la prossima volta sulla struttura nella quale soggiornerà. Saluti
