We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Engadina! It was clean and only a 5 minute walk from the center of Como. The hotel could use some updating but the room itself was perfect for a weekend getaway. It was a great value for location and the staff was friendly.

Despite the fact that location was great and staff was friendly, breakfast was very poor consisted of bread, cheese & salami . Mattress in room 114 was very uncomfortable.

A really good 3-star hotel in Como
As a 3-star hotel, the room has been comfortable and supplied with sufficient amenities. The hotel was easy to get to from Como San Giovanni train station too, and is not too secluded. A bus stop is within very close proximity to the hotel as well. Desk staff members had all been very nice and helpful.

I have stayed at this property a number of times and have always been satisfied. The Hotel is a short walk from the centre of town, has good value standard accommodation, quiet rooms and friendly staff. the breakfasts are served to you in the morning and there is a good selection... overall, good value for money.

Good Hotel for a basic one night stay. Close to Train station and Lake Como, both in walkable distance. Staff were nice. Electric kettle or microwave were not provided in room but staff helped us to heat our own food in their kitchen microwave and provided us hot water for tea whenever we asked. I would recommend them any day.

We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms we had were clean, the staff very accommodating, the hotel is in close proximity to the main train station and is within walking distance to the main tourist spots.

Room 114 needs renovation
Staff is friendly, but the room I stayed was terrible. Shower cabin has retractable door which fold inwards, almost impossible to get out normaly. Bed has a spring matras which is broken. Springs gives a sound with every movement in bed, and feels uncomfortable.

Great budget accommodation in Como. Only a few minutes walk from San Giovanni train station, 24hr supermarket, Lake Como and the town centre. Facilities are basic but reflective of the cost of the hotel and the hotel is clean and tidy. Decent breakfast to set you up for the day. A tiny issue with room was dealt with professionally and promptly. Ideal base for Monza Grand Prix (cheaper than Milan).

Stayed in the Engadina for 5 nights in July. As a 3 star it fully met our expectations. The staff even made us a packed up breakfast one morning for a 6:30 start. Only criticism was free parking in front of the hotel is limited to 3 spaces meaning we had to pay 4 euros for a couple of the nights.

Quite near train station and not too far from old town. Free wifi and bottled water in room. Sadly no coffee tea maker but receptionist would gladly make one for you when requested. Breakfast is substantial to start the day. Staff is very friendly and helpful.

Nice hotel near the lake at Como.
Everything was nice and well done. The staff were helpful and the breakfast was good. The room was adequate and easy to get to. The location was great, only a few minutes walk to the lake shore.

This hotel is perfect. The rooms are spacious and clean, although a little outdated. The breakfast was generous, coffee was excellent. About a 10 minute walk from the old town. Excellent value for money

Horrible hotel
Horrible hotel! Avoid at all cost. Smells like an infirmary. Rooms are tiny, even the larger room we booked. We looked at the room and decided we could not stay here. This looks like a “by the hour” hotel. The owner was very uncooperative and would not refund any of our prepaid fee. I would avoid this place like the plague.

Cozy place by the lake
I stayed for 5 days at the hotel. I left the hotel after breakfast and returned at night everyday. So my experience is based on this. It is nicely decorated and clean. The staff is nice and courteous. The room is spacious and so is the bathroom. You won't feel squeezed in a box. The lobby and dinning room are decorated with a typical Italian design. Breakfast was included with the rate and I figured it would be like a croissant and a cappuccino( a traditional Italian), but it turned out it is much more. The menu include, croissant, bread, cheese (cut and spread), salami, yogurt, juice, jam, honey....I think there is more. Choice of coffees and teas. You have to ask when you order breakfast. You won't leave hungry. The room was clean and nicely decorated. The wifi connection was good. the bathroom has a shower box. The shower box is so flimsy, but does it is job. I prefer it to a shower curtain. it also has a heated towel rack. The hotel is close to lake Como and the stadium. There is a bar in the hotel building. There is a carrefour market open 24/7 that is a 5 minutes walk away . There are many shops around but nothing for clothes nor for famous brands. To get to the main shopping areas it takes about 15 minutes walk. Keep in mind that Como lacks a downtown. (according to my definition of a downtown) You have a hub where visitors gather peppered with coffee shops and restaurants. The hub is along the shore of lake Como.

Very close to Lake Como to go for walks. Also close to a big grocery store. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs as the hotel is at a very busy street. Breakfast is typical carbohydrate overdose, so might as well skip and just ask to take coffee/cappuccino up to room, which I did. Nice to have a bar fridge in room. There is no kettle, so travel with your own if you drink a lot of tea. Fast wifi to watch videos or listen to music online. Max 10min walk to train station.

Good value hotel near the centre of Como. Continental breakfast is included. Ham cheese egg, juice, selection of bread and coffee. We didn't need the car during out stay.

Pleasant Stay
I found this hotel by happenstance as I was looking for an inexpensive hotel while attending a conference. It was located in town at a reasonable distance from the conference site yet close to all transit options - bus, train, ferry. It would be best described as family suitable yet provided acceptable accommodation for business travelers - computer access and wifi (although I am old school in that regard). It was quiet even though it was located on a major thoroughfare and there was a family with a baby on my floor. Even at my low rate, air conditioning, breakfast and a small fridge were provided. I would use this hotel again and it provides a good standard to compare with other 3-star hotels. The staff was helpful and unobtrusive.

The welcome was businesslike but not over friendly. The breakfast was adequate. The room was noisy having a front room on a busy road. It was not a hotel where you would want to stay long.

Relaxing Engadina
We really need enjoyed our stay at Hotel Engadina. We know the area well and were within short walking distances of the main square in Como. A local supermarket was nearby and this was very convenient. Breakfast was delicious. Also, we would highly recommend the bar next door with great service and happy faces.

BED BUGS ALERT!!!
BED BUGS!!! Stayed at the Engadina in April 2017 with my family of 3. We all were bitten by the bed bugs all over our bodies (see photo). We tried to communicate with the hotel but they ignored our emails and never even acknowledged any of them. Stay away!
