Was a lovely stay
We stayed in the luxury pool villa room and it was amazing. The view was overlooking the beach, the rooms were clean and quite large as it is double story. The views from every window were just absolutely amazing and private pool was also awesone. Only downfall, our aircon was not good at all, struggled to sleep for 4 nights as it was too hot in the room. The workers came to fix it 3 times and still no fix, this ruined our sleep quite a bit, we complained at checkout and they offered us a 50% discount on our room service fee which was ok! Though other then that the resort was pretty amazing. Not much of a variety on the room service food.

Best place I have stayed in Thailand
You could not ask for more. The free upgrade to a villa was the start to a fab three days. Staff were so friendly and relaxed. Scenery is amazing. I will go there again. Thanks to everyone at Bhundari for a wonderful time.

Koh Sumai Gem
This is a little gem hidden away from the hustle and bustle of Chaweng, yet not a far taxi drive for shopping and eating the most amazing food or sitting street side sipping a cocktail watching everyone go about their business. The hotel itself may be a tad dated but the staff who by far are the most friendliest staff I have encountered on my travels more than make up for it.

Nice and affordable
Turned up to the hotel at 8am to check in even though 2pm is check in time. They said come back in 2 hours and upon our arrival back to the hotel at 10.30am (still 3.5 hours early for check in) our room still wasn't ready so got a free upgrade which they didn't have to do which was fantastic. Very clean rooms and super friendly staff. Only a short tuk tuk ride to chaweng beach but far enough away so it was nice and peaceful. If you want to walk out of the hotel and have shopping and restaurants right there then this isn't the hotel for you but if you willing to pay 200baht for a short drive into the town then this is a brilliant hotel

Bhundhari
Lovely resort with brilliant staff - probably the most attentive out of the five hotels we used on our trip. The room was great with a massive bed! The pool was great too as was the restaurant. There's not much option for a night out round the hotel without taking a taxi to Chaweng. However if you want simply a beach and pool then this place is great!

Had a great stay. Our room had a great view and their breakfast selection was great. Lovely swimming pool and pool bar. Easy to do bookings and get transport to other amenities. Staff tried to help, but communication was difficult as they spoke limited English.

Average stay
I stayed at Bhundhari for 7 nights for my honeymoon in December. We had a beachfront deluxe pool villa which was great. Room was big, the setting was nice, resort was on the hill but that was fine as you can call reception for someone to pick you up to reception or breakfast. The downfall for me was the furniture needs upgrading like bedsheets (there was holes in ours), aircon (wasnt able to adjust properly), tv (all channels are in thai very limited), the swimming pool (some of the tiles have fallen off) and food quality wasnt that great and limited choices. Also, it was not walkable to town and there are no free shuttles to take you to town but you can hire a scooter at the resort for $300 bhat or get on a tuk tuk to town for $50 bhat per person. OveralI, I thought the resort was quite average.

This hotel ruined our stay in Thailand!
We went out one evening and when we returned, our room safe wouldn't open. In the morning,I asked the front desk to please have someone come check it and open it. We soon realized that somehow, someone had accessed the safe while we were out the night before and about US$3,000 was missing(Hong Kong$/Thai Baht/ Korean Won and US$)I called the front desk immediately and the woman said"Mister, maybe you spent it last night and don't remember"! We were checking out that morning, went immediately to the fornt desk and asked 3 times to speak to the mananger(Ladawan). She never came and the Duty Manager Mylene P. said to me," It is impossible for anyone to get into your safe". In other words, she called me a liar! Of course, we were upset to have lost so much cash, but I was more upset to have been so poorly and rudely treated by the staff. They have no security cameras around the pool villas and only one useless guard on the main street sort of helping people cross, I guess.Absolutely avoid this place if you want to be treated with respect, and not lose your belongings in the roon safe! Perhaps it was done by the internal staff! Anyway, thanks for ruining our time in Samui! We were going to go to the police station to report what was stolen, but realized it would have been a waste of time. We just went immediately to the airport and back to Bangkok. In all my years of travel, I have never experienced such a situation!

I stayed at the luxury villa with private pool, the villa was excellent with great view, can watch sun rising every morning. but except the villa, overall are just average. the pool was under maintenance while i stayed, and both of the public pools are too small. otherwise the hotel are really really welcome chinese to stay, they have a reception manager are from china, can speak mandarin. so if u are chinese, this is the best hotel for your holiday.

I stayed in Luxury Villa with private pool, the room is nice, i love it. Top floor with a nice view, but the lower floor with private pool are lack of decorations. Staff are friendly, but over all the hotel are not good enough, there are two public pools, but both are too small, just likes combined with a few small pools. and not good in condition. finally there are lots of chinese like to stay in this hotel.

GREAT PLACE BUT NEEDS WORK
This was our second stay at the Bhundari. We love the location and authentic feel of the hotel.Since we last stayed here[4 years ago],the hotel has changed owners and they seem to be catering for large groups of chinese and korean guests.Breakfast was a little ordinary, and if a large group is in, it is hard to get a table. The hotel is in desperate need of maintenance. We payed for pool villa, and no lights on deck or pool worked when we arrived. Also another big disappointment for us was all the guests from the large groups all hung their laundry out the front of their room. The hotel needs to put a stop to this.

Nice quaint hotel
My girlfriend and I stayed in the deluxe rooms at Bhundhari for five nights. The hotel is just that bit too far away from the main strip on Chaweng Beach, that it becomes a bit of an inconvenience to get to. A taxi ride will cost 250 Baht. Would definitely recommend hiring a vehicle of some sort to get around the island from here. The rooms were spacious but a bit old. The shower was located directly beside the bathroom entrance with no screen and as such, our bathroom was flooded with shower water. There was a bath tub with a detachable shower head however, there was no stand for it to be placed on and had to be hand held. The staff were lovely and helpful. The hotel is located on the side of a hill and means that each villa is located a bit further up the hill than the previous. We were about three quarters of the way up the hill and the hotel offered a golf buggy service that took you to your villa.

AVOID!!!!!
Booking a Luxury 2 storey villa in service friendly Thailand, We were looking forward to a fabulous holiday at Bhundhari. Unfortunately that was not to be. The particular room we booked is listed at 30000 baht per night, you would expect to be treated like royalty!! But we were refused petty basics like a airport pick up and drop, where as this hotel is under 5 minutes driving distance from the airport!! We were refused a 2pm checkout, forcing us to evacuate the room at 12 noon under threats of a half day charge. When we agreed to check out, we were called 3 times in 30 minutes!! Its a spa resort,BUT they didnt have any spa appointments for 2 days of our stay. The breakfast was like a 2 star hotel, and the same fare was dished out on all 3 days of our stay. breakfast timing is from 6.30am to 10.30am and the staff starts clearing the buffet at 10.15am! The staff was very unfriendly, be it the restaurants or the reception. Another thing is, the hotel is on a hill, its impossible to walk up to your room, thats why they have buggy service. for Families with old people it is massively inconvinient!! You live closer to nature litrerally, with frogs in the room, bugs on your beds and centipedes and cockroaches in the outside rain shower! YUCK is all I will say! To be AVOIDED at all costs. Save your holiday from being a horrendous experience!!

Good
Our stay in one of Bhundari's deluxe villas was lovely and it was really nice to feel like we had our own space there. The hotel is really beautifully set out, on a hill overlooking the sea. There were quite a lot of insects because of its location (not the hotel's fault), but it is the same everywhere in Samui and the hotel provided us with a plug-in insect repeller for our room. All the taxi drivers in Samui know the location of the hotel, which is really handy in my opinion (we had a different experience in Bangkok- can get very tricky). For me, a downside of the hotel was its location in relation to Chaweng; I was led to believe from other reviews that it was accessible on foot. I disagree with this slightly as the road into Chaweng, although only a 5 minute drive, is not really suitable for pedestrians (no pavement, no street lights and the road is bendy and hilly) so we had to get a taxi every night

Fist & Last time will ever stay here
We were so excited to stay here but unfortunately this hotel was a huge let down. The pool was filthy and we could not swim in it. Then the wood decking around the pool was all coming up and need a serious paint job. Sadly the breakfast was not good either. There were flies all over the fruits and when we tried ordering an egg the cook did not understand any English. There are so many other beautiful resorts to stay at in KOH Samui. I would not recommend this resort to any one.

stayed for 5 nights..!! overall, the stay for comfortable, good breakfast buffet, the rooms were comfy. good friendly staff, amazing view from the room.. very nice swimming pools, wonderful view of the ocean.. absolutely peaceful.. its a beautiful property but the hotel admin should try and maintain it, especially the toilets. its built on a hill, so this property is not for old couples though they have their own golf cart to ferry the guests. the hotel should also organize some events to attract more n more guests, coz it gets really dull in the evenings. all in all, a good experience..!!

Great Location, just out of town.
Hotel was nice, fantastic location. Easy to get into town approx $100bht but far enough to be quiet and relaxing. Food and Beverages not great, room was beautiful and clean. There were plenty of choice for pools without too many people around, beach was small and a little dirty. Tour Desk was not helpful however go into town and there is plenty of choice of tour operators. Lots our tours that pick you up at the hotel.

Hotel property was very well maintained but the villa we stayed in, luxury private pool, was obviously not stayed in for some time as the downstairs living area and pool deck was dirty. I would not recommend this property again unless one is staying closer to the beach.

Honeymooners
Was not a bad stay, staff not understanding English was abit difficult at times, sheets stained and the towel shortage was a pain, plus Mosquitos were crazy there should be sealed windows in the villas near the beach not air grills, at night our room would fill with them was not pleaseant. During the day spa & pool villas are absolute paradise at night was hell due to bugs and the doors not locking properly didn't feel the safest. Best person at this place was the smiling traffic control bloke what legend, I reckon the rest of the hotel staff could take notes off him.

Hotel location not ideal.
Hotel is not centrally located, need to use a cab to get to central area. Cab fares cost a minimum 250 baths to get around Chaweng. Beach area at hotel is quite rocky & at high tide you have no beach area. Hotel staff is quite friendly & pleasant. Most Rooms are built on a hill which means you have to climb to your room. Not an easy task after a few drinks. Overall prices in Chaweng are over priced for what you are getting. Perhaps we are spoilt with All inclusive deals to the Caribean from Canada. Prices we paid were in December around Xmas . Did not have any entertainment at this hotel except for Xmas Eve which charged you 2000 baths for the evening. Made it a point to leave in the morning after breakfast & return in the evening as there was nothing to do at the hotel or near the hotel. Location was a big let down for us.

Nice hotel needs some work
Beach pool bar staff were amazing as were breakfast staff. The guy at the crossing was also outstanding. Overall this resort needs a lot of work done especially the decking around the pool and top deck breakfast area. Pool cushions are old and worn. Our deluxe villa was ok the airconditioner leaked and the couch underneath has a lot of water damage. That left the room smelling a little damp but nothing too bad - loved the outdoor shower. The breakfast had a great variety of food! Had dinner there once a bit average though. Overall a great stay especially happy hour cocktails!

Well below par for price
Even though I stayed here in low season it was really poor service from start to finish. On arrival they couldn't find my booking so had to wait half an hour in lobby (which is beautiful), whilst waiting many other guests obviously had the same issue and noticed this same amount of people waiting every time I passed reception. Once in the room it was quiet nice. The shower was lovely but wets the rest of the room. I went down to dinner and sat down ordering a beer to have while reading the menu, although half the menu I couldn't read as it had been smudged by constant water drops on most of the pages. After finally (nearly 5 mins) getting the waiters attention as he was hanging out with the band (must have been board cause there was only two tables) I got another menu. I ordered crab spring rolls and stir fried stewed beef. The spring rolls were tiny prawn only offerings that with one only had a tail in it. The beef was so tuff I left half of it and the rice was cold. When I woke in the morning the aircon had been dripping all night directly on to my dlsr camera bag thankfully not wetting the camera itself. It didn't stop there. Check out was as much of a mission as check in.

Nice hotel all the staff were really friendly
Our experience was awesome, we only paid for a room, no breakfast but that worked out well because we were always out and about. We did eat breakfast from time to time and it was always a big buffet and really yummy. The pools were amazing there is 3 and a spa on the hill side and there is 3 on the beach side with a swim up bar. Don't worry about staying on the hill side because all you do is call 0 and a buggy comes to pick and drop you off where ever through the hotel. We met an amazing man called Itsawa he was always so friendly and nice! Really enjoyed his company. I recommend this hotel and if I ever go back I would stay there again! :) really central and you can walk along the beach to the Nora resort, my sister had her wedding there so it was great for us.

Lovely hotel stay!
The great thing about this hotel is it's location and warm reception by staff. Literally under 10mins from the airport and main shopping belt was a definite plus. The rooms were clean but some facilities cld use maintenance e.g. the jacuzzi. Situated on top of a hill, it offers a great view of the sea and islands nearby. We were upgraded to the deluxe villa upon arrival which was lovely. Laundry was efficient as well with our clothes being returned within a few hours. Breakfast spread was decent & the ambience is for romance. Overall recommended stay as one of the better hotels in Koh Samui. We will be back!
