“Best I've Used In Hong Kong”

Harbour Plaza North Point is an excellent choice for the visitor to Hong Kong, whether the trip is for business or pleasure. The hotel is well appointed with a good level or guestroom amenities. The room size is on a par with those found in the UK, therefore a fair deal larger than some hotels I have used in Hong Kong. There are several choices for those wishing to eat in the hotel. Greens restaurant serves a varied international menu and a fixed price breakfast, which while not particularly cheap does give you the chance to fuel up for the day ahead, while the Hoi Yat Heen is the hotels Chinese restaurant. During my stay in January, Hoi Yat Heen was serving a large selection of snake dishes, (I can recommend the minced snake and hairy crab balls), which the Chinese believe wards of the effects of winter by raising body temperature. Hoi Yat Heen serves authentic Chinese cuisine at prices which are on a par with those in the UK. The hotel is situated between Quarry Bay and North Point, so a way out of the more central districts of Hong Kong Island, this does not present a problem though, as the local MTR (tube) station is just across the road. All considered this is the best hotel I have used in Hong Kong and would definitely return.

“Excellent value for money”

It was great having a suite for the same price as a double room, )though the kitchen didn't have dishes or cooking equipment.) The hotel tried to get us to sign up for HK$440.00 per day each for breakfast, use of pool & minibar (soft drinks only - glad we weren't conned into it) & a few other 'perks'. There was a Wellcome food store just across the way so we bought milk & goodies for our own breakfast etc from there; also that extra charge would have included fresh fruit, which we got anyway!!Highly recommended & would stay there again if we ever go back to Hong Kong, (which I doubt.) Excellent venue for public transport plus free minibus to Central was a bonus, as HPNP is a away from the main action. Real Chinese restaurants within walking distance - very friendly, but without menus in English so very interesting! Large pool for swimming but you have to go down a long flight of steps to get to it, which is a bit tricky.Very friendly helpful staff, who all speak excellent English.

“Typical Hong Kong Experience”

This hotel, which is slightly out of the way, HK$60 taxi ride from the Hong Kong Station, is really typical of the Hong Kong Experience. Clean and tidy, staff in abundance, very polite and friendly. Due to the cheapness of travel, this Hotel offers good value for money and I really felt was a good base for getting around.

“Very friendly staff”

I felt very well looked after and the staff were always very helpful. The concierge will look after your luggage for up to 6 weeks. The food was excellant - whether it was room service, bar food, or at either restaurant. The best food I had in Hong Kong. The hotel is very easy to find - right opposite Exit C of Quarry Bay underground station. And the swimming pool is so inviting at the end of a hot day!

“Nice Hotel, Good Service & Convenient Location”

We stayed ten days in Harbour Plaza North Point during Christmas 2011 and were very pleased with our choice - the hotel was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We took a harbour view room but the view on waterfront was very restricted with a line of high rise buildings alongside. Hotel location was excellent with all transport links at the door step and is just opposite Quarry Bay MTR station (leave station from Exit C then, hotel is right in front of you just across road). Airport bus 12A stops right outside the hotel and is considerably cheaper than taking a taxi or using Airport Express and it is a very scenic tour in itself travelling via the mighty Tsing Ma Bridge. One way bus trip to airport would cost only HK$45 compared to HK$100 and HK$350 for Airport Express and taxi respectively – hotel shuttle bus will charge HK$130 one way to airport. We enjoyed riding the old Hong Kong tram (still in service since 1904) to Western Market as well which travels along the main road outside the hotel - it costs only peanuts (HK$2.30 flat fee per journey) so if you have nothing better to do, ride the tram all day long to experience the atmosphere. I was told that this tram is the only serving double deck tram in the whole world today! The only downside in this hotel is WiFi - it is very expensive to use. Hotel restaurant is also nice but you there are many local dim sum food outlets available little further away in back streets. Highly recommended!!

“We Love Hong Kong”

Great Hotel with rooms of a great size, especially as we had a foldaway bed in the room, which due to the size of the room was not a problem at all. Great facilities including fantastic swimming pool. Very accessible to public transportation to MTR, Trams and Buses. The complimentary transport offered by the hotel to Causeway Bay and Central is also a big plus. You may not be in the heart of the tourist districts but due to the accessibility you are never that far away. Great Hotel and looking forward to going back. Many THANKS to the Harbour PLaza North Point and EXPEDIA

“Excellent Value”

This is a well managed hotel. The reception staff are friendly, helpful and efficient. The rooms are comfortable and the facilities good.(There was only one draw-back whilst we were there and that was the plumbing facilities:because of problems the toilets in the whole of the hotel were out of bounds for several hours one day.Hoewever the problem was rectified and it did not affect our overall impression of the hotel, but may well have disconcerted people arriving on that day.) The public areas are spacious, well furnished and there is a happy friendly atmosphere. The location is excellent in that the subway station is very close ,giving easy access to the city center and other locations.

“Useful location for MTR and trams.”

Decent rooms, friendly, efficient service. Get acquainted with MTR maps and you will find HK's main locations very easy to get to. Not a great deal of Tourist info from Concierge but peruse leaflets from airport and in room magazine and you'll find plenty to go see, shop or eat. Did not eat here (apart from Continental brekkies) so cannot comment on Dining here.

“A good option for those with kids”

The family rooms with the mini kitchen were a plus. The location is good - easy access to places of interest as Quarry Bay MTR 2 min away. Of course, harbour plaza has everything else that one can expect from a good 4 star hotel, including a swimming pool with a decent view!
