Initial room was not what expected, clean but outdated , no smart TV and only a small kettle and bar fridge. Was moved into another room in which i expected at start from Best Western being an International hotel chain. On the whole the staff were friendly and accomodating.

Everything was good except when the fire alarm went twice during our stay, staff didn’t know what was happening. We came out but some people stayed in there rooms and was on the balconies looking down. Need to have a much better emergency evacuation plan and fire marshals should check all floors etc.

Worst Western
First impression was poor with the incredibly unfriendly attitude from the receptionist in the morning. I said I had a booking and I had to prompt every time for any acknowledgment. Then when I checked in, the room hadn’t been vacuumed and was dusty everywhere. I would expect this from a much cheaper hotel. I was offered another room which was an improvement but next to the washer and dryers, which are on most the night. Only positive is the view over the city and the other staff are more pleasant, but would not be recommending this hotel.

Was clean and comfortable but i booked an apartment. Two rooms sharing a bathroom with just tea and coffee making facilities is not what i define as an apartment. I did like the wireless phone charging lamps in the rooms.

The location and property were fantastic, clean and quiet rooms. The buffet breakfast was adequate and had a good array, however the female food and beverage manager was very abrupt and snappy at guests when they were unfamiliar with the set up. We witnessed her snapping at guests for getting another set of cutlery. When my son inadvertently put a croissant in the toaster, she RAN over and screeched “there’s a sign right THERE.” Admittedly, the was a sign, well above eye line, but the fact of the matter was the croissants were placed directly next to the toaster, next to the bread. It would be logical to place the croissants away from the toaster, to mitigate the mistake. Anyway, it definitely soured the vibe of brekky for our kids who felt very chastised.

Cons: there was an unflushed poo in the toilet when I arrived in the room, which is something I’ve never experienced despite my numerous years of travels! This indicates that the cleaners fail to clean the toilets between customers/users. Pros: the front desk staff member who checked me in was lovely and the location, while a little further out than other hotels, was still walkable to the main city and foreshore.
