DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL THROUGH EXPEDIA!! We booked the hotel for 1 night and when we arrived the customer service representative at the front desk informed us they are not registered with Expedia and they do not have a booking for us even though I pre-paid on Expedia. Expedia informed me that it is a non-refundable booking. Where did my money go? Expedia is now looking into the issue. The hotel name has changed and the phone number has also changed...even the color of the building is different now. We ended up booking a night through the front desk since there was space available and we were already there, this room cost us twice the amount advertised on Expedia. The room is not well maintained and niether was the pool. There was no fridge in the room and there was mouse or lizzard poop on our bed. The room and bathroom also had a smell. They did provide us with clean towels and a fresh set of sheets when we asked. The restaurant food was good and affordable. The location of the hotel is pretty good, walking distance to restuarants and the beach.

Check in at the hotel was done by a young man who had to be woken up from the sofa in the reception, to let us in, and was slow. He is no longer employed here. On going to the room to say I was disappointed is an understatement, the room is large but dull and shabby, it stunk of smoke , there were no towels or toilet roll, my partner had to go down and get them. The kettle in the room does not switch of so has to be watched, no cups, there is a cupboard in the room with a hanging rail but not what I would call a wardrobe. The curtain pole was hanging down and the lining on the curtains are stained. The fridge was small. This hotel is also very noisy, sounds travel around the building as there is nothing to buffer it. A good point is that the staff are great and very helpful and friendly. The towels and linen are changed every day but again ithe linen is shabby and could do with being renewed. To me it was expensive compared to others I have since looked at.

We got off to a bad start at the hotel,didn't have a room ready etc,it was 0230 but eventually sorted the problem out.please bear in mind you are not entitled to a free breakfast.the deluxe room in my opinion was not worth the extra cost.all the staff were very helpful and did everything they could to make our stay comfortable 10/10.we did eventually as compensation get a free breakfast for our stay.the restaurant on site is great value for money,santa,kuma were fantastic at serving us really made eating there memorable well done

Great location, great restaurant
Really happy with this hotel, fantastic location in the heart of the village with lots of good restaurants on the doorstep. The rooms are large with a great shower, real mattress, fridge, tv , ac and fan. They could do with a lick of paint and a nicer pair of curtains but windows, floors etc are nice. The beach is a 10 minute walk away or a 50 rupee rickshaw ride. The pool is a real bonus and the restaurant is very good. Village life is great and vibrant.

We had a great time at star of the sea hotel! Lovely little place. The staff were very nice and kind! Hotel was perfectly placed for a great holiday!

2 towels went for cleaning each day, replacements were available 5pm from reception, brown stains on 1 towel replaced straight away, yuck, bed pillows were stained, room was smelly, cleaned daily but with no disinfectant on floor or toilet

Good hotel for Goan standards.
The only thing i can moan about were the other guests having no consideration for other people staying there mostly the Indians. The beds are very comfortable, nice clean pool, bed linen changed daily, a little more attention could have been taken on the cleaning of the rooms(bleach, toilet etc) but for Indian standards not bad. Staff very friendly and food in The Blue Lagoon restaraunt was excellent! The hotel was in the perfect place for bars n beach!

Never visit Goa during monsoon because most of the restaurants and shops are closed..the main purpose of booking this hotel is that it had a swimming pool and the expedia tele caller confirmed that it had a swimming pool and working, but unfortunately, the pool was so filthy and staff recommended not to use it, my kids were disappointed. Therefore, during rainy days we had nothing to do, can't go out and also can't use the swimming pool. No restaurant in the hotel during off season.

Big disapointment
Arrived at the hotel on November 28th 2013 after a two week whistle stop tour of the North of India. We realised that we would need a restful, relaxing week after completing such a hectic schedule. Realising this we booked well in advance and paid the maximum price for a deluxe room ensuring a comfortable stay. We sent an email a week before leaving the UK to confirm our requirements. On arrival we were allocated a room which was as far from a "deluxe room" as you could get. It was a small and pokey place with hardly enough room for our luggage never mind us. We explained to the staff that we knew what the standard of their deluxe rooms should be and where they should be situated as we had stayed at the hotel in a deluxe room two years before. No amount of arguing or complaining would persuade them to move us to the correct room. They insisted that this room was up to their deluxe standard which it certainly wasn't. We had to accept what they said as we had paid in advance and we were too tired to move anywhere else. Chatting to regular guests at the hotel confirmed our suspicions that we were indeed installed in one of the cheaper rooms. They added that all the deluxe rooms were pre-booked and reserved for regular guests and for customers of a Russian tour company. We left feeling angry and cheated and worse, feeling stupid that we had even listened to their explanations. They take you money and insult your intelligence.

15-20 minutes far from Benalium beach....
Yeah..... We have awesome experience of GOA, none of us want to return back. Easy availability of vehicles, drivers, supportive nature of them, cool whether, and awesome sight of sea touched our heart deeply.

It was nice to stay at Star Of The Sea. Though I wish I could have stayed in North Goa as it is closer to most of the places of tourist interest. Benaulim Beach near to the Star of The Sea is good.

Not the best place to stay.
Stay-wise very disappointing ,No room service .Restaurant attached not a part of the hotel and bills have to be settled immediately by cash ( No credit card ) and so be ready to keep/arrange funds for restaurant,car hire etc, Kept complaining that we had misplaced a remote for TV. We had 3 rooms and looks like in one they had not kept one. Same with blankets - available in 1 room not in the others . The one available was torn. Had to pay Rs1000 because the management claimed that we damaged some towels with stains from a tatoo , The part that hurt was that they were refusing to let have the keys till we paid. Inspite of all the above we must admire the hotel for the honesty since they honestly returned a hand bag with fair amount of money.credit cards etc which was forgotten when we checked out. But stay-wise and comfort-wise quite terrible.

Don't expect your rooms to be cleaned when you go out for the day. When I asked the staff at the counter he said since we din't leave the keys they couldn't clean which sounded lame because I presume they must definitely have had spare keys with them.

My family and I booked 4 AC double rooms 6th May to 8th May 2012 with a breakfast buffet for 2 days.I booked hotel through hotels.com inclusive breakfast, there is no faicility of restaurant.(May be Temperory Closed Position)The rooms are quite big and spacious, when we check -in, rooms is ready, but no soap in bathroom, towels quality is not good n not proper clean. Receptionist begum standard reply....victoria why this...? where r u victoria ..? call to victoria, victoria is staff member of star of the sea resort.when I demand soap for each rooms she replly I arrange the soap in one hrs., ohh my god - one hrs...okay The location is very good because good Ocean Pearl Restaurent N Big bits Chinees reastaurant, but little bad experiance dinner at satkar hotel, food quality worst.The beach was close, Hotel plus point is big room..swimming pool....good location and reasonable price, no care for guest.we accept reality and enjoy our stay..

I liked this hotel very much! The staff of the hotel was kind and helpful. The room was good. They changed bedsheets and towels every day, the same about cleaning of the room.

Be Cautious About This Hotel
My family and I booked 3 double rooms with a breakfast buffet in December 2011 into the New Year. (3 nights) The restaurant near the pool is run by Nepalis and they did a great job in food preparation. The problem was with the greedy owner, who is a doctor, when he made excuses and would not honor our voucher bought through Expedia when it came to breakfast. Though he pays for advertising, he would never take responsibility and blamed Expedia. The greedy doctor tells the restaurant owner that he will only pay Rs80 ($1.60) for breakfast per person no matter what the voucher says (which he knows before hand and approves) and what HE advertises. Anything above the Rs80 has to be paid by the quest. We had a discussion which turned into a heated talk because he was so blind to truth and responsibility and most of all this happened the day we were about to check out. Though the rooms are ok and the food and location are good, the management is very poor and will try to cheat you. So, be cautious about this hotel.

Ok basic hotel in non-busy Goa
Spend 11 nights in end of dec 2011 with family. Nice, calm area of Goa for families. Very friendly staff. Good, clean pool and pool bar/restaurant. Rooms very simple. A/C worked mostly and even warm water in afternoons:) Not very clean. NEEDS new towels and bed linnen!

Good mid-range hotel
This is a decent mid-range hotel; good value for money. The rooms are large, the beds comfortable, hot water, and balcony with nice view. The best thing about the hotel is the quiet pool and restaurant area with friendly staff. It was great to arrive in India and relax by the pool in the hot weather while we got our bearings. The surrounding area isn't amazingly beautiful, but it's cool and quirky - it's India. The beach is a bit of a walk, but you can get a tuk-tuk very easily in just a few minutes. Personally I wouldn't spend my whole holiday here (we were just passing through on our way to more quiet beautiful beaches further south) but if you're staying in Benaulim, then I'd recommend the Star of the Sea.

Not bad at all. The rooms are quite big and spacious than usual hotel rooms though from outside the hotel looks least impressive. But the hotel is a bit far from the beach maybe about 20 min walk. Overall a good one.

My Stay at Hotel was pretty good.. The location is near the two beaches i.e benaulium and Colva.. The only thing that hotel lacks is Generator... coz thr was no light for an hour....It only has Inverter otherwise hotel is good...

Good location-poor management
stayed in a double room which was reasonably clean, we paid little so it is what you pay for, nice balcony overlooking the swimming pool, breakfast was nice and the waiters were very friendly. Takes about 10-15 mins to walk to a nice little beach. The shops and restaurants around are lovely. The receptionist was not very friendly though, hardly got a smile and seemed annoyed most of the time. We didn't have the exact change to pay for breakfast and she asked us abruptly to go get some change, turns out she did have it. Also she got angry because we didn't check out at 11 even though we showed her that let confirmation letter said check out 1pm. Overall I recommend this hotel for its price and location & swimming pool, nothing else.

The hotel is falling to bits. You get a really poor impression on arrival. The room was a disgrace. The door did not shut properly. The curtains were filthy and hanging off. The bed linen was dirty and stained especially the pillow cases. The towels were dirty again and ripped. Do not stay here. I rang another place and left. Horrible experience.

Полное отсутствие интернета!!!!!!Его нет от слова совсем!Это все минусы.Дальше плюсы.Очень большой номер!Очень чистая и удобная кровать-просто отоспались и ничто не мешало вообще-петухи,собаки,стуки в коридоре,соседи....их не слышно,Бассейн -просто супер.Далеко от пляжа-это фишка для всех отелей бинаулима либо центре, либо далеко от него. И еще...для любителей ездить с мультиварками-таки есть для вас все!Есть где в номере расположиться и есть где все для этого купить,Овощи,фрукты,свежая кура (около кадара),молоко...НО! имейти ввиду ,что до пляжа минут 10-15 по жаре .И цены в местных кафе самые низкие ,по сравнению с Палолемом,Арамболем и тем более Кандолимом

・11日間滞在したが、Wi-Fiが何とか使用出来たのは最初の３日間だけ、それも部屋では使用できず、 　狭いロビーの椅子だけ、メールは受信出来なかった。このホテルでのWi-Fiは殆ど受信不可能。 ・滞在期間中、プールには水が入っておらず、泳げない。 ・レストランは廃業されている。 ・トイレットペーパーは部屋の清掃に来ても補充せず、請求しなければくれなかった。 ・部屋のベランダへのガラス戸、錠が壊れており、施錠出来ず不安なので修理するように 　初日に依頼したが、修理されず、11日間施錠出来ないままであった。(205号室） ・テレビには部品（ブゥスター等）が３何個も垂れ下がり、見かけが悪い。 ・部屋は清潔でコンセントも多く便利。洗面所はお湯が出て、シャワーとトイレの区切りの壁もあり、便器の床が濡れず快適！ ・停電時でも、洗面所、ベッドの上の２ヶ所の電気、、ファン、コンセント各１ヶ所、は使用出来て助かった。 ・海岸まではホテルから徒歩で１２分、海は波が少し高く泳ぐには・・・不向きかな～波と戯れて十分楽しめます。 ・スーパーマーケット、酒屋、野菜屋も直ぐ近くで便利,レストランは徒歩１０分。 ・このホテルは,Ｗｉ-Ｆｉ、プール以外は問題なく他の客にも推薦出来ます。 ・このホテルは「時々、プールとWi-Fiあり」なので、この２件は情報案内からは外すべき、誤情報を掲載したのは貴社の責任。 ・１１日間滞在したが問題はＷｉ-Ｆｉで、使用出来ないのが分かっていたら、このホテルは選ばなかった。 ・貴社の情報は信用できず、今後は使用しない、

Отель бронировал через хотел.ком. Приличный небольшой отель. В номере убирались каждый день, для Азии вполне чистый. Территория отеля небольшая , но опрятная, чистый бассейн.

Hotel mit gutem Preis/Leistungsverhältnis
Das Star of the Sea liegt sehr zentral in Benaulim. Zum Strand läuft man ca. 10 Min. Die Zimmer sind geräumig, mit Balkon und Aircondition. Ein Pool ist auch vorhanden. Das Hotel hat ein Restaurant, wo man auch preiswert essen kann. Abends muß man dabei allerdings ca. 1 Std. Wartezeit einplanen. In der Nähe gibt es aber auch Alternativen. Alles in allem ein guten Preis- Leistungsverhältnis. Würde ich wieder buchen

Dieser Hôtel ist nichts besonders, ausser das Restaurant und Schwimmad. TV in Zimmer funktionniert nicht gut. Wi-Fi ist schlecht. Viel Lärm im Hôtel. Ich würde nie mehr hier schlafen

Bra läge mitt i Benaulim lugn fin innergård med pool och restaurang med mycket trevlig och duktig personal. Mycket god och vällagad mat. Stora och fina rum med bra AC, dock lite dålig städning. Bra toa med dusch. Lite långt till stranden men det är ju billigt och enkelt att ta en rickshaw.

Hotelli oli hinta-laatusuhteeltaan todella hyvä, henkilökunta erittäin ystävällistä ja auttavaista ja hotellin ravintolassakin palvelu oli joka päivä loistavaa!Kannattaa tosin ottaa huomioon hotellia valitessa, että hygieniataso Intiassa ylipäänsä on aivan erilaista kuin länsimaissa. Itse olin hotelliin tosi tyytyväinen, eikä minulla ole siitä mitään pahaa sanottavaa. :)
