To truly define Jaypee Siddharth, is to know its restaurants – each one is designed to awaken the gourmet in even the most jaded of palates. Leading off the Lobby, is Eggspectation, the 24 hour Resto-Café and Tapas, the Lounge Bar. The unique feature of this combine is that their spaces cleverly flow into each other, separated only by an illuminated circular wine cellar.
Eggspectation is a franchise of a Canadian chain. This Resto Café is truly unique. It has an open kitchen that turns out an eclectic menu with over 170 items ranging from signature Egg dishes like Yoke Around the Clock, Eggs Benedict, Pizzas, Pastas, Salads, Crepes and delectable main courses like New Zealand Lamb Chops and Parmesan Crusted Chicken, to a very well represented selection of Vegetarian items. For lovers of Indian food, there are old fond favourites like Rogan Josh, Kathi Rolls, Tikkas etc., and a touch of Wokkerie for those so inclined. Always partial to children, Eggspectation has a very special Kid’s Menu as well.
There’s a buffet for breakfast, however the staff will be happy to serve a la carte breakfasts as well. The rest of the meals can be ordered from the menu, or from the promotional menus that are offered from time to time.
The adjoining Tapas is a study in contemporary comfort and elegance. From the onyx bar, the stunning wine cellar that has a capacity to hold more than 2000 bottles of carefully selected wine and the ceiling to floor windows that overlook the waterfalls and pool. The mood of Tapas changes from as the sun sets; from an open airy space that looks out on to the greenery in the morning, to a mellow, intimate space with soft lighting and divine music in the evening.
Tapas is known for its Beverage List, that features an excellent selection of Single Malts, Wines, White Spirits and creative Cocktails. The soft live music in the background, adds a gentle touch and the friendly staff anticipate your every need. It is an ideal place to unwind, catch up with friends or nurse a drink.
One floor up is Paatra, a unique specialty restaurant that specializes in the cuisine of erstwhile Punjab. This is a haven for foodies dedicated to taking culinary journeys, in this case from Amritsar to Lahore. Paatra gets its name from the Sanskrit term for ‘vessel’ or ‘utensil’ and from the alternate meaning of the word ‘a deserving person’. These meanings define the whole concept of Paatra, where the resplendent culinary repertoire showcases the myriad delicacies prepared in a variety of authentic cooking vessels that retain the true flavours of the food.
