The staff were friendly and helpful.The superior lodge we stay in was clean but in need of updating. Shower door didn’t close properly and was in need of re-tiling, sofas were uncomfortable, cobwebs in high ceilings, oven gloves needed in kitchen, generally in need of redecorating. Hot tub checked everyday and was a lovely addition to our stay.

Great lodge and facilities but it looks tired and dated. On arrival at the lodge we found a dirty sock in the bed under a duvet, that’s just disgusting and obviously not cleaned to the level they advertise!

A nice property in a good location, however there were a number of cobwebs, mould and dirt over the floor. The property was starting to look a bit dated and missing some amenities for example an oven glove and scissors. The hot tub was lovely but it’s disappointing when you’re only staying for 3 nights that on the first night it isn’t up to temperature so can’t be used. We used the resort pool, nice pool, changing rooms not so nice, showers freezing! It would also be useful to know there is a washing machine and I couldn’t find it listed anywhere so took more clothes than needed. Also work going on at the resort so on Monday morning you could hear it!

What a find, luxury lodges a stone throw away from transport links to the whole of Cornwall. 25 mins from Padstow without all the hustle and bustle. Brilliant clean lodges with all the luxuries with a shop, restaurant, bar, pool, gym and spa on site

Nice getaway but run down and needed some TLC
nice place for a long weekend in winter, Not sure id want to come in peak season as the amenities were very limited. We stayed in a wooden lodge that in all honesty felt tired and not cared for. Kitchen felt like as things had broken over time they had not been replaced. décor needed a freshen up and a thorough clean through out as there was a lot of dust and cobwebs. The outside furniture was moldy due to being left out in all weathers and definitely wasn't something you wanted to spend time sat on. We paid extra for a lodge with a hot tub but this felt overlooked by other properties. The pool changing rooms were filthy and none of the lockers had keys. Staff were friendly. The onsite restaurant looked ok but we didn't eat there due to limited choices for my wife. I imagine getting a table in peak season is difficult as it is only small for the number of properties onsite. Overall it was ok to spend a couple of days as a winter break but I wouldn't want to pay the peak season rates for what we had.

stuck at 33.7 degrees) at 9am the morning after our arrival and was told someone would be out to fix it. We stayed in that morning as we had planned to use the hot tub. No one came to look at the hot tub. By 1.30 I called again and was told that although no one had been out it wasn’t fixable. When I asked how they knew this and why if it wasn’t working we had been put into this Barn the member of staff backtracked and said they’d check with the hot tub maintenance team. They then said they would be out to us next as we were top of the list. We were told WITHOUT asking that we would be fully refunded for the day we were unable to use the hot tub and that it would be ready on Saturday evening. We went out and when were returned the hot tub was again 33.7 degrees. We tried calling but the line was busy. We specifically booked a Barn with a hot tub as we were planning to use it for New Year’s Eve. This obviously could not happen. The next morning the hot tub was still 33.7 degrees (the temperature was being maintained by the hot tub so it was functioning, just not heating). In the 1st January I tried to call again and again the line was busy. That afternoon a person arrived to check the chemical levels, he was about to leave when I stopped him and asked if it was working. He said ‘yes it’s working’. I said ‘but it’s not hot’, it’s not heating up. No compensation offered.

Best winter mini break
We had a wonderful stay in a 6 berth lodge. The weather outside was dismal but the lodge was warm and cosy and provided everything we needed. A lovely surprise to have a dressed christmas tree sparkling at us upon arrival, very sweet touch. All the staff, reception, restaurant, maintenance men and cleaning staff were all lovely too. The only issue that I would comment on, which isn't a fault but more of a preference is the TV did not have access to any movie channels i.e. Netflix, Prime etc. Due to the weather being so bad it just would have been nice... Definitely would come again and highly recommend.

I booked a 4 berth barn with hot tub for myself, husband, 2 teens and our small dog. The barn exceeded our expectations, it was decorated and furnished to a high quality. The hot tub was great and we looked over a small lake which was idillic. The bar and restaurant on site was great and food was delicious. Would definitely recommend and we will return!

Has potential to be lovely but we had faulty sensor lights in both en suites that went off all night/broken blinds in 3 or the 4 bedrooms. Also feel for the price there should have been basics like hand soap, shower gel and washing up liquid. Cooking equipment not sufficient to cook for 8 either which made things difficult. Some improvement needed in these areas. Staff nice though and as helpful as they could be under the circumstances but unable to fix the issues during our stay.

Beautiful lodge in beautiful surroundings. Weather wasn't great but the lodge felt so homely and comfortable and the roof top hot tub was a highlight for us!

Dangerous accommodation
1st night realised the oven didn’t work correctly which burnt the food, didn’t get fixed all weekend. The decking to the front and near of the property is rotten and dangerous to walk on or use the handrail, I wouldn’t have dreamed of allowing my children outside. 1st day at 08.00 there was loud banging noise coming from the lodge attached to ours, we looked out the see the decking being ripped up with a crowbar, this hammering and drilling continued all day, I complained to guest services only to be told they were privately owner and there was nothing they could do.

Brilliant family stay
We had a great family stay. The barn exceeded our expectations in furnishings, comfort and home comforts. The hot tub was really amazing. Just a shame we couldn’t use it on the first night as it was heating up from being cleaned. The park could perhaps have a bit more going on. It was very natural but maybe more play areas and we were hoping to have hot drinks at the beachside cafe while our children were on the inflatable but it was locked up and looked abandoned.

Lovely house , perfect location. Don’t expect to arrive and jump in the hot tub as it will be cleaned out and refilled the day you arrive and not up to temp until the following morning. It’s obvious if you know about hot tubs, and is definitely worth the wait . Absolutely stunning sitting in it as the ducks swim by ! Will definitely stay again

A wonderful place
Great stay, lovely welcome fantastic lodge lovely and clean and comfortable. Hot tub freshly filled and spotless. Breakfast in bar/restaurant was lovely and the evening meals superb. Will definitely go back and highly recommend. Also really well situated for visiting local attractions and towns.

Our chalet was very nice and the hot tub excellent. The restaurant was expensive and food was just ok. All the water sports cost extra very expensive per person. I think guests staying on site should get 50% off.

Stunning location. Our property was beside the lake with a lovely balcony to admire the view. We didn’t use or take part in any activities, more of a base for us to explore Cornwall. A lot of mosquitoes being near the lake but apart from that it was a perfect spot. The toilet door was odd - as it was a sliding door it didn’t close properly leaving a gap each side. I made a privacy barrier to cover the gaps, otherwise felt bit open & even as a couple, need privacy. Apartment was spacious - perfect for a couple. Utilities provided. Did need washing up stuff, although there was a dishwasher but we had to buy tablets. Also no hand wash provided. Also, only provided with one loo roll. Overall great place to stay.
