Very pretty views of the city. Close to shopping and a nice area of Chicago. The staff was great slight delays but they were willing to make up for it. Overall a great hotel and area to stay I’d recommend to anyone.

The hotel's location is excellent, although it lacks parking facilities. It is worth mentioning that the hotel imposes a rather exorbitant fee of $75 for 24 hours of valet parking, which may not be the most convenient option for guests seeking quick access in and out of the premises. On a positive note, the room itself was pleasant and spacious. However, it is imperative that the overpriced snack bar and beverages be reconsidered. While there is a gym within the hotel, there are numerous other options in the vicinity, albeit at a higher cost. The gym facilities seemed rather outdated, and unfortunately, the Peloton bike did not meet my expectations. Regrettably, when I attempted to seek assistance, the attendant appeared too engrossed in their phone to provide any help. On a more positive note, the valet personnel were exceptionally kind and amiable. In conclusion, while the hotel is satisfactory, it is unlikely that I would choose to stay there again.

Hotel charged additional deposit not.listed in their pricing disclosure info page on Expedia. Additionally, hotel has limited dining and bar options as it is under construction. Hotel hallways, elevators, and such have. Weathered appearance. Doors to rooms are beat up and paint chipped and such. Needs more routine maintenance in my opinion especially at this price point. Also, staff could have been a touch friendlier.

I didn’t like extra resort fees I was charged! After I had paid in full on Expedia! This hotel doesn’t offer any resort amenities! Not a swimming pool! Not even a restaurant!!!

Even though the property was under renovations for their F&B offerings, it did not affect in any way shape or form the overall experience. Staff was very friendly and accommodating, facilities were in great shape even for a property that has age but is very well maintained. Decor was warm, inviting and eclectic. Rooms were of great size with top amenities and furnishings. Would definitely return.

I always enjoy staying at The Thompson Chicago, all the staff are amazing! Alex at the front desk is always friendly and informative.The hotel is my go to for a staycation in the city or the holidays when I have family in town. I stayed in Room 701, it needs some TLC! The top of the nozzle on the spray in the shower is missing, the sink is cracked and peeling and the mirror frame is chipped up. The sectional has a few very noticeable stains on it and there’s noticeable scoff marks on the walls.

Poor experience overall. There was no restaurant, no bar, and/or no room service. Additionally, it was to noisy: I could rest, sleep or be calm because of the noise being so strong that it even gave us a headache. But the worst part was Jasmine. A receptionist that started screaming to me when I was giving feedback during the checkout. She was too rude. I was disrespected by her... I even felt humiliated. She will be the main reason I will never be backt o the hotel and will never recommend anyone to do it.

Super loud drilling inside the hotel, they are remodeling their restaurant - combine that with construction outside of the hotel, neither of which were we warned about. Heater was making loud noises in room, asked front desk and was told someone would come take a look and nobody ever came they instead turned the heat off for the rest of the stay. Not the Thompson experience I have been used to.

Hotel overall was really good, we didn’t really run into any inconveniences or problems, doors were noisy and due to the close distance between rooms, I did wake up to doors being slammed during the night. Dinning room was closed but we didn’t really mind. Staff was helpful with our needs and even allowed us to check in earlier.

The staff was friendly and able to help, but unfortunately I found a bedbug in my bed my first night. They were very professional about it though but not something you want to run into your first night.

Beautiful hotel with friendly staff. Room was spotless clean and roomy. The restaurant was under renovation but there were several restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely stay at the Thompson again!
