“gave me all i required.”

chose this hotel because of the location. it turned out to be perfect,a city center spot close to good shopping with connections to the airport close by.it has its own british style pub/restaurant as part of the hotel, with many other eating places in the close neighborhood. i enjoyed my stay and would use it again.

“Would definitely stay here again.”

This Hotel is an easy 5-10 minute walk from Union Station and the check-in/out was very quick. The reception staff were very helpful and pleasant. The room was very good, but at the front of the street so there was some noise, but still managed to sleep OK. It would be useful to have a stand for a suitcase, but the make-up/shaving mirror was very much appreciated. Good location for the Willis (Sears) Tower (top on the sites to visit list) and the River Walk.

“Excellent hotel with excellent staff in an excellent location”

From the moment I arrived from the airport (40 minutes by train to Monroe which is 2 minutes walk away) until I left 7 days later, the people at Central Loop Hotel made my stay most enjoyable and were most helpful and courteous. I must mention Deanne at reception who helped with my queries and also my quest for good ice cream and was generally wonderful. The hotel has a supply of chilled water and empty bottles which was really useful. Starbucks next door, a small general store on the opposite corner and an excellent bookshop opposite the hotel door makes for a great start. Everything in the city is within walking distance of the hotel and buses and trains are on hand if you want to go further afield or just get somewhere quickly (a CTA pass is worth getting if only for the convenience of not hunting for the correct fare - I bought a 7 day pass which even got me back to the airport).

“great location”

I will definitely use this hotel again, perfect location as only a block away from the CTA station JACKSON which was took 40 minutes on the blue line from OHARE AIRPORT. With free internet use and complimentary chilled water and bottles to put it in on each floor was a nice touch, and with the excellent ELEPHANT and CASTLE pub connected to the hotel for eating it was a perfect combination. I went for leisure purposes to watch baseball at the Cubs and Whitesox and with UNION STATION only 4 blocks away took a trip to MILWAUKEE for only 44 dollars return which was a 90 minute one way journey. As regards thehotel room i found it ideal for a single person and the bath room was adequate but only has a SHOWER,but this was fine.

“Great hotel for exploring Chicago”

Not knowing anything about Chicago's neighbourhoods, this hotel was picked purely on previous Expedia reviews, and we definitely think we made the right choice. There was a Metro stop literally a few minutes walk from the hotel, which made getting there from the airport very easy, and far less hassle (and cheaper) than a taxi, and only took about 40 mins. Everything in Downtown Chicago was within walking distance, which is by far the best method for exploring the city, but the proximity of the Metro station meant going further a field (such as Lincoln Park Zoo and Wrigley Field) was only a 10 minute ride away. We went at the end of April, and although not hot, the weather was comfortable, and you can get away with a light jacket. There is a plethora of eateries close by the hotel if you want to pick up a quick breakfast or lunch. We would definitely recommend breakfast at Beef & Brandy as service was excellent, there was a wide selection of typical American fayre to set you off well for a day of exploring. Sears Tower is also a must, and for the brave stepping out onto the glass Sky Deck, as the views are stunning, but definitely recommend doing this on a clear day. If you go in the baseball season, Wrigley Field is also a must, watching a ball game in the second oldest ball park in America, certainly generates a great atmosphere. Lincoln Park Zoo is worth the visit, entry is free, and the enclosures feel like you're stood nose to nose with the animals.

“central location”

Hotel location was fantastic, 5 minutes from main shopping street Wabash Street 2 blocks away, Willis Tower 5 minutes 2 blocks, elevated loop subway 2 blocks east and west and 10 minutes to Union Station, La Salle station and Ogilvie station for further exploration. No problems encountered in local neighbourhood, I felt extremely safe walking late evening and early morning as all streets well lit. Adjoining pub, Elephant and Castle had good atmosphere and internal door meant you did not have to go outside to return to hotel room. Hotel staff extremely polite and helpful with any questions put to them and check in and out was a breeze. Hotel room was small for a double. As a solo traveller this did not bother me, but a couple might feel a bit squeezed. The room was however clean and fresh as was the well stocked bathroom.

“The Loop Hotel, Chicago, August 2010”

Excellent except for poorly arranged room change, seemingly need for 'essential' maintenance.

“Just as I hoped”

This hotel was fine for my daughter and me. We were on a 6 day holiday to see the sights and the neighbourhoods. The suite was an excellent base, with its sofa bed - high quality, comfortable and easy to open and close - its kitchenette and standard of housekeeping, linen and furniture and fittings. Air conditioning off when we were out - good idea, but we only put it on once and briefly anyway as the hotel and room was warm enough, even in November. Nice pint of Guiness and fish and chips one evening in the Elephant and Castle restaurant/pub attached. Not a lot of choice nearby for evening meals or entertainment, this being more or less the CBD but the location is great for the Art Institute, Willis Tower and the Bean and being on the Loop section of the El, via Monroe, trips out to the neighbourhoods we were interested in were easy. The complimentary wifi for iPhone was fine, as it was for the speed of the internet on the two computers + printer in the "Business Centre" (a tiny but adequate, misnamed room). All quiet at all times, our room was not over the main street. Overall, an excellent choice which had to be this good after a long flight, to make for an enjoyable introduction to another great American city.

“Good Location”

Brilliant business hotel one block from Sears Tower and train station. Business centre located within hotel with use of internet. Only complaint - not enough safes for the rooms.
