Pros: housekeeping did a great job cleaning the rooms, pool area was beautiful at GR Caribe and Royal Solaris, beach was small but well kept.
Cons: elevators were not working. One set of elevators worked to go up only, on the other side of the building the elevators worked to only go down. Very inconvenient for those with mobility issues. Check in provided limited information about resort, we saw other guests getting tours and the information we were provided was minimal. We were traveling with a child and didn’t get any information about the kids club at check in. It was difficult to make reservations at restaurants, we were only able to eat at two of the restaurants that took reservations due limited seating at the restaurants. Service was subpar throughout the resort. One morning at the breakfast buffet we got a delicious iced coffee, the rest of our stay servers would tell us they didn’t offer it. It was difficult to get drinks from servers at the pool and at the buffet restaurant. Restrooms would close at the pool and there would be no signs, just staff standing near the door saying it wasn’t open and not telling you where to go. The food was not good, minimal flavor and variety. Alcoholic beverages lacked flavor, it was difficult to decipher differences in alcoholic drinks because they all tasted similar and lacked flavor.
Tips: bring your own insulated cup. The resort uses small, flimsy plastic cups for guests. Towel clips are great for windy days.
