I don’t recommend this property to anyone with family showing photos online it’s very nice but really falls marketing. This property with kitchen but doesn’t have rice cooker microwave not working don’t have cooking pans or pots no paper towel don’t have anything for washing cleaning dishes soap hands wash so on

It was a last minute booking due to another booking not matching the listing… This wasn’t a properly done room at all. It’s the area adjacent to the swimming pool which has been made into a room! Windows were kept open for whatever reason & people jumping into the pool around 1am wasn’t very pleasant…

The room was clean and organised. The remote wasnt synchronised to the television. The bathroom was small, but a better layout could lead to a bigger shower. The property was in renovation or repair mode, so there was a little bit of noise, however understandly considerate. Good position for accessing the night markets and the espanlande (restuarants and the public water area). Overall value for money.

How did this place get its 4 star rating?
It is amazing what a bit of camera work can do to make a place look larger and presentable then what it was. The room was small, and not cleaned properly. No soundproofing as we could hear the family across from us fighting. My son saw an interesting view over the balcony of a brown stained white towel on the canopy roof (that made him laugh) The pool, well that is another story! At least the airconditioning worked really well. It was walking distance from City of Cairns. This place reminded of the 70's My only conclusion is you get what you pay for.

We did not stay it was dirty the curtain looked as though someone had blown their nose on it the grounds were filthy and unkept when you walked upthe stairs there was an open industrial bin and people from outside accommodation were using the driveway as a thoroughfare. Reception was also unkept. But most disturbing was that they gave us keys to the wrong room. My husband opened it and a little kid was in there. My husband probably scared the crap out of him! We probably would have stayed but for the security risk of them giving a key to another patron and this happening to my kids. I find the situation absolutely disgusting and disgraceful never had this happen. We left immediately and expected a redund for such a disgraceful situation but the made us pay they really need to lift their game as this is a serious security risk.

The room smelt like cigarettes had been smoked inside. Furniture is in disrepair. Used band aid on the floor. Staff advised we could not be moved and would not get a refund.

Property was different to online photos. Bathroom was filthy with broken fixtures etc would not have showered nor used the toilet, black mould on the entire ceiling. Mini fridge was covered in mould (inside and out) Staffs communication skills were zero. Stayed in the property for a total of 5 minutes while I arranged more suitable accommodation. I requested a refund from the manager who then went on to call me a liar even with picture evidence

Would like to start off by saying all the staff were lovely, nice and friendly! All international travellers working hard to experience Australia, good for them, and they definitely had their work cut out for them. The place is a mess. It’s dilapidated, needs a lot of work on the room we stayed in which was old, tired and lacking any personality. Our room was infested with ants, even if the MASSIVE gap between the door and the floor was filled these ants would still find almost any way into the kettle, coffee mugs, sometimes even in the beds. The bathroom absolutely stunk, the smell of sewage coming out of all the drains was horrendous, nothing the staff could do about it, needs completely re-plumbing. A couple of our pillows were yellow and battered (not the pillowcase) and could definitely need replacing. Restaurant and bar were closed. Didn’t have WiFi in the room for 4 nights out of 7 however the staff were really helpful to get this fixed for us. There are some highlights, the aircon in the room was amazing! The pools were also great and saw the staff maintaining the cleanliness regularly, however it was often swarming with unsupervised children. Thankfully we got a good deal through Wotif for much less than the standard rate, however for only a few dollars more a night, we decided to move and stayed at Trinity beach in a much nicer self catering apartment.

Clean enough room but the door to the balcony was old and battered would not lock. An alternative room was offered but that door was in a similar state. They have refused to refund my room cost citing a 24 hour cancellation policy however I did not know the room could not be secured before I arrived. Suggest avoiding this property if you want to be able to sleep well or leave your belongings in the room. I found alternative accommodation.

Appears unkeep in the yard and pool areas. Parking spaces are very scarce and some almost inaccessible for bigger vehicles. Outside rooms not clean and rooms not probably maintained.

Bed was ok but pillows were terrible, plumbing was extremely noisy and shower temps hard to control. Security was nonexistent, anyone could enter from side driveway and key tag had room number, motel name and address with the key

This hotel was disgusting. The room was dirty and not maintained very well. Firstly I had to go and buy cleaning goods to clean the bathroom and cups. The remote on the tv didn’t work. Then they changed my room as they couldn’t get the remote to work. The next room they gave me the bathroom smelled like sewage and the family of cockroaches were a bit put out with having to share the room. I would never recommend staying there. There is no restaurant or bar !!! As says on the information. Because it was soo dirty I didn’t want to swim in the pool 💩

I never ended up staying it was so dirty. Asked for refund. Lady on desk said she never had the authority and wasn’t allowed to call the person on a weekend who did. The place is not only run down but dirty berry dirty. The sheets in all 3 beds in my room had make up marks on the pillows. Sheets still wrinkly from other people. Smelt like someone used the bathroom before we entered. Have emailed 3 times for a refund still waiting. Do not stay here.
