"I don’t really think the breakfast is good value for money. I’ve stayed at many different Fairmont properties, both standard and Gold level, so I have a basis for comparison. The coffee is only lukewarm and the bread is overly toasted and hard. I can, for example, compare it to the Fairmont Waterfront in Vancouver, where I stayed three weeks earlier, and the breakfast served there was better. So, for a fairly expensive breakfast, I would expect higher quality as a guest."
"We stayed at this hotel for one night after our cruise trip. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very spacious and clean. The hotel was in the middle of everything so it was very to get around town. There’s a restaurant connected to the hotel, but it’s not part of the hotel. We went there for breakfast and lunch."
"Stayed here from 6/3–6/7. Overall, the stay was decent, and the location is convenient with easy access to downtown by bus and plenty of shops and restaurants nearby on Commercial Drive.
The biggest downside is the noise. On Saturday nights, loud music from the underground bar next door can be heard throughout the hotel until 1–2 a.m., and the bass can even make the building vibrate. If you're a light sleeper, this may be a concern.
The surrounding area is a bit rough and has a noticeable homeless population, but I didn't experience any issues during my stay."
"Large and very comfortable regular room. I’m a pillow & linen snob. The bed was pure luxury. It was hard to get up & out because the bed was heaven. Beautifully designed coffee & tea system with kettle. A great stay."
