Certainly a 3 star at best. Property is old and needs massive renovations but location is pretty central with lots to do. My room card didn't work ever and the staff was all to willing to NOT fix the lock or change rooms. Def could use a good cleaning too.

El hotel definitivamente no es 5 estrellas. Las habitaciones son viejas, los baños con poca iluminacion y la bañera con areas rayadas. El gimnasio descuidado, sucio, colchonetas manchadas. El desayuno igual todos los dias. El wifi se desconecta (es intermitente)

This property has a lovely renovated lobby, but the positives end there. It’s advertised “English-style” room was quaint, clean, and had everything I needed; however, it was quite dated. There was cracked, peeling plaster around the perimeter of the ceiling moulding that was falling. The air conditioning did not work. The taps in the bathroom and shower had to be turned so far to turn on that they would detach if I wasn’t careful. These things are minor, and it is a well located hotel with friendly staff. I am bothered to complain because the ONLY REASON I booked this hotel for approx $250 CAD for the night was for the beautiful pool and outdoor space advertised in the photos here on Expedia and their own website. It was 30 degrees Celsius daily for the two days of my overnight stay, and it was a long trek of travel, so I was rewarding myself. However, when I changed to my bathing suit and went to ask the front how to find the pool area I was told that the pool was “closed for the season” because “it’s winter.” When I said I only booked for this reason, no compensation or refund was offered. The language barrier of course is a factor here, but I am quite disappointed as I would not have spent this kind of money without a pool (since the room alone was in no way worth that!). Breakfast is not included either.

Good Photoshop work, the hotel is very dirty and does not look anything like the pictures. The walls are very thin, you can clearly hear every room around yours. Also, my computer was briefly stolen in the lobby by someone taking my backpack while I was distracted for a second, the person left a similar backpack in its place, but I noticed a small difference, ran to the thief who was at the revolving door and started yelling at him, he dropped the backpack and fled. What surprised me is no one in the hotel staff that saw what happened seemed to care about the incident.

Claridge is a lovely little hotel with wonderful staff and service. I loved the decor in the reception area and the restaurant and bar. The rooms were spiotlessly clean and the bathroom had all the amenities and great space. We stayed for a week and I'd recommend it highly to others! Thank you, Vanda from Guyana.

Property is half block from Calle Florida, two blocks from Galerías Pacífico, six blocks from Teatro Colón, and eight blocks from Plaza de Mayo. Convenient and walkable to much of central Buenos Aires. Nice pool in the summertime, but not kid friendly. Most of pool is 7 foot deep, and even shallow end is 4 feet. No lifeguard, so kids should be with an adult and be good swimmers. WiFi is mediocre. Works well when not busy, but is quickly overloaded much of the day. Hotel is a bit shabby, with some obvious deferred maintenance, typical for Argentina which is currently suffering very high inflation. Hotel staff is friendly, helpful, and very attentive. I consider this a great property for my wife and I. But people with young children should go elsewhere. Probably was a 4 star hotel 20 years ago, I would rate it as a 3 1/2 star today.

The property was nice, however the staff was excellent. Sergio at the pool area was very helpful and was very sweet. He made up for the very average WiFi and breakfast which was very average. I’d stay there again only because of Sergio. Thank you, Jeff

this was one of the worst “5” star hotels I’ve stayed in. First, the area is not as safe as many areas to roam at night. So area wise, you can do much better. Then, some of the worst highlights include a lack of fitted sheets on the mattress (literally at times was sleeping on a bare mattress), musty old smelling rooms, a gym where a bike doesn’t even work and they don’t offer water, and then the best part of all, the lack of Wi-Fi. Yes, they claim they have Wi-Fi. They have about 6 networks all of which don’t even allow you to load a single webpage properly. When asking the front desk about it, the response is “just use the other one”. Clearly reading other reviews this is a known issue at this establishment they just don’t want to pay to fix. I would HIGHLY recommend you take your money elsewhere. Do not stay here. Do not be fooled.

Sadly i did not like my stay at the property. The hotel is quite old, in the description it lists the beds as twins but they were individual. The humidity in the room is very high, and probably the same throughout the hotel, that's why there's a smell to it. Wi-fi is very spotty in the rooms, some people would stay in the lobby to be able to use the wi-fi. AC was not working properly too. Amenities are great, pool and gym but other than that, it wasn't a great stay.

Hidden Gem in Buenos Aires
Claridge Hotel is an old timehotel in the banking district. Very close to Casa Rosada and all the shops ofCalle Florida. The staff at the hotel is amazing. The decor is authentic, but it would benefit of an full refurbishment of the all common areas. The rooms have been upgraded and they look lovely. The hotel still retains al the original taps and furniture which makes it soo special. The pool is seasonal, but due to the end of November being usually warm in Buenos Aires, it should be open from Nov 20th rather than from December 1st. I had a Livy stay and will book again!

Would not recommend. Needs upgrades and maintenance. Missing a lot of small things for a 4 star hotel. Rooms are small, bathrooms even smaller. Internet was very very problematic, could not stay connected for very long. Much better hotels in the city for about the same price.

We waited over an hour for our room to be cleaned and had to go to the front desk twice. The following morning we left at 3am for a flight to Iguazu Falls. We were being met at the airport which was the start of our tour so we asked for a bagged breakfast as we had prepaid for breakfast. We were told it would be waiting for us, but the front desk didn't have anything. We had to ask our tour guide to stop so we could get something to eat before starting the tour..we walked 15 miles that day. We also asked housekeeping for additional towels one day, they never arrived. When we left I checked out without any questions on how our stay was or pleasantries of any kind. With exception of one gentleman the front desk was very standoffish. The location was good for shopping and had a great restaurant up the street, but there is a sex shop across the street. Breakfast was good, but they had a leak in the ceiling of the dining room one morning and had to close off a good portion of the room. While in the bathroom we could hear our neighbors like they were standing next to you. It's an older hotel that could use some TLC.

I was very disappointed with my experience at the Claridge Hotel on Tucumán. I took 3 of my engineers to visit suppliers in Argentina; it was their first visit to South America. The pictures of the rooms on the website are very deceiving. WiFi in the rooms never worked and we had to conduct our business in the lobby. First night, one of the beds broke; keys to doors had to be inserted several times to open doors; carpet in the rooms are horrible and the night staff very unfriendly. The only positive comment goes to Cristina, the housekeeper, who’s was very accommodating and friendly. We are not returning to this hotel on our next visit to Buenos Aires.

Had a wonderful time and Tomas from the front desk made it even better with his top quality and professional service. It was a real pleasure working with him. The hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable. Certain areas of the hotel are under utilized and could have been open for guest to enjoy (terrace on 2nd floor and the Bar) Overall a great value.

This property is close to almost everything, walking distance to downtown. The staff was really helpful in finding places to eat and making reservations. This was my second visit to this hotel and the only place I will stay in Buenos Aires from now on. The building is old but it is very well maintained. It definitely has a historic feel to it.

Unfortunately with a name like claridge the pictures on the site you would expect opulence / cleanliness / impeccable service however not really in existence although full of history the hotel is extremely run down and under managed. The decor is shabby and dirty the wallpaper in the rooms is pealing off as is the paint on the ceilings. The bathrooms are in need of an update birth bath and shower head was full of Limescale and in need of a good clean ! The WiFi was none existent you were not able to even open an email when connected and I heard several guests complain about this. The operator never answers the phone from the room I called 5 or 6 times one day and ended up going to the desk instead. The pool area was nice however but could have done with some background music ! It also closed very early they locked it up so my first day I could not even sit by the pool . Being down town was the only real advantage a great location and I’m sure with some updating and customer service training it could improve.

Good hotel with a few limitations but decent value
The Claridge hotel has the potential to be one of the best hotels in BA, and I’m sure it once was. Really this place is in need of quite a bit of TLC to get it to a top standard. As it stands it’s ok, perfectly acceptable for sure, but it could really be amazing. The outdoor pool is nice, although they could do with a few more sun loungers. Breakfast is good with quite a lot of choice, although the staff here are a bit slow at clearing tables and ensuring there is enough bowls, mugs and hot water. The WiFi is awful over most of the hotel apart from the lobby. This was really annoying and unacceptable really these days and other reviews show it’s been bad for ages. It’s also really annoying the WiFi doesn’t work by the pool. Staff at the front desk were really helpful and also booked us a tango show trip from a list of options they have. Room and bathroom were pretty nice and very clean, although double bed was a bit small. Do think the price per night is fair and takes these things into account though. We did enjoy our time here and the location is pretty good.
