Really nice hotel very clean staff were all very helpful and friendly free juice in reception very nice hotel. The Hagley road is a very busy main road but quiet inside hotel

Very dated, uncomfortable bed, shower gel impossible to get any out and overall very expensive for what it was. Porter was excellent though.

Fabulous
A gem of a place ,although there is no restaurant of an evening don't let that put you off staying ,in fact it's easier as the staff provide plates , cutlery and condiments so you can eat either in your room or in the lounge with bar ,which I may add is a great place . Stayed in the Suite which is amazing !. Now the best part the staff are absolutely the best cannot do enough for you ,so friendly ,welcoming and work hard . Manager so helpful and most of all great personality . Try the place you won't be disappointed!

the room was freezing cold and didn't warm up all night. there was a sign saying do not touch the controls and it would warm up . when i woke this am it was so cold i didnt want to get out of bed ! also , the wifi was terrible and kept shutting off .

Our stay at the great western was excellent with friendly staff amazing breakfast i think the only thing I could say is we had to go out for dinner as you don't serve food but still would recommend to friends and would visit again 😋

Amazing suite in an historic building
Lovely suite with a cosy sofa room and a very comfortable bedroom. The bathroom was beautifully clean. We stayed on the coldest night of the year and the rooms were too big to heat well but a price worth paying to stay in an historic building.

Old hotel loads of character
Lovely bar area and rooms excellent (clean and comfy beds). No lift in hotel and limited downstairs rooms

Excellent Stay
It was spotlessly clean and warm friendly hotel. A special thankyou to Miles (night staff) who made our stay delightful and fun and nothing too much trouble. The hotel is so comfortable and warm and the breakfast is very good. We will def come back again z

As you enter the reception damp smell is the first thing we noticed. Building is outdated and in need of touch up. Room was freezing cold and I had to call reception to turn on the radiator. Receptionist forgot to give me the barrier code when he charged me for car park and I had to go back in to ask on exit. Not a good experience in general.

The place was dilapidated and the room was terrible. I’m certain the bed had bugs inside them , I didn’t get any sleep. This hotel should be sectioned. As bad as the hotel was, the staff were brilliant. Very welcome and hospitable.

We only stayed one night for a charity ball, however we had a great stay. The staff were very friendly & couldn’t be happier to be of assistance. They offered us water when we came in late after the ball (I had been drinking) & asked for our room number to ensure the room was warm enough for us. The parking charge of £10 was a little unexpected however the car park is well secured with a barrier & we could see the car from our hotel window. Breakfast was lovely, there was lots to choose from & everything seemed to be of a high standard. The overall aesthetic of the hotel was very old fashioned (almost as though it could be haunted!) but it felt very safe & was decorated beautifully. The front part of the hotel from the outside looks much more maintained but the interior was absolutely perfect for our needs. There was more than enough storage space in the rooms for a lengthy stay & the bed was comfortable. There was a lot of stairs to get to our room as the hotel was huge! But this was not a problem. The only negative was that it is a little pricey! Overall we had a lovely stay & would come back if we were staying in the area again.

Friendly staff good location and plentu of parking. Hotel itself is old and some of the rooms need updating both bathroom and living areas. However priced well so will consider staying again.

An amazing gem
Stayed in the suite it was spacious ,clean and very well presented a fabulous place .Hotel itself a little gem staff are so lovely,helpful and friendly a lovely team on our visit .No restaurant in the evening but don't let that put you off as you can order from any take away,Uber etc ,the hotel provide cutlery etc ,condiments and you can eat in your room or in the bar which is a lovely place.

Used to be a top Birmingham hotel. Now, very quiet with few guests. Rooms appear dated and in need of some refurbishment. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Plough and Harrow
The hotel didn’t have a restaurant and I didn’t find any notification to say there wasn’t. The floor heating was on and the. Room was stifling if the window wasn’t open. Unfortunately the hotel is located on a main road and sirens went on all night and there was a patch on the road where cars go over and make a banging noise. The Plough and harrow needs a full revamp and upgrade as it is very tired. The building is very inviting.
