Great place to stay. Beautiful hotel. Fabulous staff. Everything you could want is within walking distance and it’s totally safe. Hint though - ignore the taxi drivers that rush to talk to you when you exit the hotel. They charge double what the taxis that are 50 yards away!

We have stayed at this hotel many times. It has consistently been our choice every time we visit Bangkok. The view of the Chao Phraya River is delightful. We also appreciate its breakfast and the venue, which has three sections inside and an outside area by the river. The hotel’s location is excellent, especially due to its proximity to Icon Siam shopping center, which hosts over a hundred eateries. The staff are kind and helpful. We are very certain that we will return. Thanks to all the staff for their hard work.

Wonderful property with river views from all rooms. Good friendly service. Rooms a little dated with showers over baths rather than walk ins. Have used this hotel on at least two dozen occasions over past 20 years and it remains my favourite in Bangkok

We loved this hotel. Buffet was super! Able to walk to get street food or a massage. It was nice to walk right out of the hotel and grab a boat to the mall across the river. Easy access to cabs if needed and the staff is knowledge of the area and things to do. Rooms are clean and quiet.

This is my second visit to the hotel, has a great location, superior service good restaurants swimming pools once surrounded by gardens. We always ask for a high floor Premier room with Riverview really a great idea

Loved the view from the room especially at night. Very easy to acess to Iconsiam by a shuttle boat. Close to a pier to get on a ferry boat to visit temples and a palace by a boat. Many of Bangkok's famous places are close from the hotel. Definitely will book in again.

We have never experienced such personalized and superior service at previous hotels. The Royal Orchid far exceeded our expectations. The river view from our room was stunning. Mr. A’s welcome briefing, Mr. Ex’s assistance at the Concierge desk. and the courtesy of every single staff member we encountered was impressive. The Royal Orchid has become our favorite big city hotel.

It was my 3rd stay here over the years and it seemed more a rushed job preparing the room with dust under glass and streaks on top of the glass on the desk. it took over an hour at reception for checkin and we were tired ,as the young man misheard what I said and thought 3 ,not 2 people were checking in.Then he had to fix the error up and it took ages.We had booked 2 rooms for 2 people. The brown carpet has seen better days The staff are warm and friendly and helpful by and large

Good for river boat service
Great location. Shuttle boat service is really useful and the regular ferries are just next to the hotel. The Club lounge got very full at New Year but service was excellent. Despite hot plates in use the food could have been hotter. The Iconsiam shopping centre is good and just one stop on free shuttle

Great value and very scenic location
Great location on the Chao Phraya River opposite the spectacular Icon Siam shopping mall. The hotel was once the epitome of luxury and opulence but has since dated, most noticeably with the hotel room carpets being a bit musty. However, the 4-star rating is less due to the physical condition and more because of the less-well-trained staff around the pool and restaurants. The gym is also very small relative to the size of this hotel and would need an upgrade as part of the next refurbishment program. Overall, we were very comfortable in our adjoining rooms on level 19, blessed with plenty of space for us and our two teenagers and amazing views of the river looking downstream. The hotel presented good value for money…so use your elbows when approaching the breakfast buffet as some of the budget travellers can lack in manners.
