Very beautiful rooms in a perfect location, walking distance to many major sites and very close to great cafes, multiple metro lines and a supermarket. Was great to have a balcony in my very quiet room. No noise from other guests. Excellent free wifi, excellent shower and kettle in room.

"Great for easy going solo travelers and couple's"
I had originally planed on staying for 5 days and booked a Standard Room, and later decided to add on a day at the beginning of my trip. There were no Standard rooms left, so I went with a Single room. I arrived right around check-in time and was able to get right into my room. I will admit here, that when I first walked in I thought of Whoopi Goldberg's room from Sister Act. This room was SMALL and very basic, and looked like it had never been updated. The bathroom was also small and took some acrobatics climbing in and out of the shower (over the toilet). However the bed was extremely comfy and I had no problems sleeping that night. The next day I was moved into my Standard room that contained a full/queen size bed, as opposed to the double I booked (no complaints here!) This room was large, freshly renovated and amazing. The bathroom absolutely blew me away! It had top of the line amenities and came with a tub, rather than a shower, which took some getting used to. (They did provide a small soap bar and packet of shampoo, but just bring your own). The stairs are as steep as everyone implies. If you have multiple bags, this could be a problem (especially when leaving with full suitcases) and the walls are pretty thin. Bring ear plugs just in case. But the beds were comfy, the staff extremely friendly and nice and really just a perfect area to stay in. St. Sulpice is the closest station, and it's easy to get to any major attractions. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

"Hidden Gem"
I had a great experience at Villa des Artistes. Having lived in Paris as a student, I was familiar with the arrondissement and the métro system. Tucked away on a quiet side street, the hotel served as the perfect home base for all of my daily adventures. It was conveniently located near many restaurants, vendors and most importantly - public transportation. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, even though I no longer spoke French as well as I imagined I did. The room was cute, quiet and clean; I couldn't ask for anything more. I will definitely be coming back to Best Western Villa des Artistes the next time I visit Paris.

"Nice hotel close enough to tourist attractions."
The hotel maintained a wonderful sense of old-world charm with updated amenities. I liked its location, as it was in an active section of Paris, but removed from enough tourist traps to make it not too commercial. There were plenty of local places to shop and eat near the hotel. The staff were extremely knowledgeable, great for tourists.

"Nice"
If you want the "Paris experience" without the glitter then this is your hotel. I visit Paris often when working and I have wondered the streets looking for the perfect hotel to take my wife to. This was one on my list. It is located on the edge of the Latin Quarter and St Germain districts, a perfect location for night life as well as day time activities. Near St Michel train and subway stations. Safe at night and not too noisy. The staff is very accommodating and speak enough American to be helpful with not too technical questions. Be prepared, however to climb some stairs. There is no elevator. We were on the 4th floor which had a nice little balcony which not every room has. Breakfast included, bread, coffee, and juice. With the price of coffee in Paris this continental breakfast becomes a good deal.

"Nice find near Luxembourg Gardens"
My girlfriend and I stayed here for 6 nights in March 2014. We had an excellent experience. We had a room on the 5th floor that was very clean and was actually larger than I expected given some of the reviews on here (perhaps it's because we're from NYC). The bathroom was a decent size for most human beings and perfectly clean, no complaints. There is a lift in the hotel that's large enough for 1 person and your luggage, so no worries there. The Innkeeper will ask for you to return your key every time you leave the hotel, that's perfectly normal. The hotel is in a great location just a block away from Luxembourg Gardens, the #4 and #12 Metro lines and the RER B train (easy access to CDG Airport).
